Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the effectiveness of using the chain writing method on students' writing skills on analytical exposition texts in eleventh grade students of SMAIT As-Sakinah. The problem in this research is the students' difficulties in writing English texts. The formulation of the problem in this research is to determine the extent to which the use of the chain writing method influences students' writing of analytical exposition texts. This research is a quasi- experimental study using two classes; experimental class (XI Al-Qolam), taught using the chain writing method and control class (XI Az-Zuhruf), taught without using the chain writing method. 34 students make up the population, whereas 17 students make up the sample. Pre-test and post-test tests were two different sorts of tests used in data collection techniques. The data collected for this investigation were analyzed using the t-test, various tests to assess the degree of relevance of the research's findings. The experimental class's pre-test results revealed that the students' aptitude for writing analytical exposition text was low. 49.94 were the typical pre-test score. The average post-test score was 78.82 after treatment, and the t-test table had a magnitude of Ha: 0.000, indicating that chain writing is successful in instructing students to write analytical exposition texts. According to the research's findings, students at SMAIT As-Sakinah Sebauk in Tanjungpinang's eleventh grade are much less able to compose analytical exposition texts when they employ the chain writing method.

Abstract

This research describes the analysis of student difficulties in English speaking skills faced by 10th Grade students of MAN 1 Natuna in the 2021/2022 academic year. This research used qualitative research methods. The researcher chose class X IPA 1 as the object with a total of 27 students. In collecting the data, researcher used observations, and interview. From the data analysis, the researcher found some conclusion The problem of students in mastering speaking skills is that students have limited vocabulary, they confused to pronounce words in English, lack grammar, cannot speak fluently, and have difficulty understanding what the speaker is saying. In addition, students inhibit to practice speaking English and usually use their mother tongue. The cause of students having difficulty in mastering speaking skills refers to the learning objectives, it can be concluded that students have psychological factors such as lack of confidence, fear of being wrong, anxiety, shame and lack of motivation that hinders them in practicing speaking in English. These factors, such as fear of making mistakes, are generally caused by their fear of being laughed at by their friends.

Abstract

The primary aim of this research is to identify and explore the common errors made by eleventh-grade students at SMKS Bintan Insani in their usage of gerunds and infinitives, as well as to investigate the factors contributing to these errors. This study adopts an analytical approach within the framework of a descriptive quantitative research design to elucidate the nature of the errors made by students. Data collection was achieved through the administration of a written test. Furthermore, to gain a deeper understanding of the factors influencing these errors, open-ended interviews were conducted with the students. Upon completion of the analysis, it was evident that the thirty eleventh-grade students collectively produced a total of 386 errors. Among these errors, 56 (14.51%) were identified as additions, 200 (51.81%) as misformations, and 130 (33.68%) as omissions. These findings underscore the students' limited grasp of gerunds and infinitives, with misformations emerging as the most prevalent error type. This prevalence indicates uncertainty in the correct selection between gerunds and infinitives. The errors in gerunds and infinitives construction can be attributed to various factors, including interference from the students' mother tongue, wherein structures from their native language are applied to English. Overgeneralization of grammatical rules also contributes to these errors. In addition, shortcomings in the teaching process, characterized by inadequate explanations and limited practice opportunities, hinder student progress. To address these issues, it is imperative to provide explicit instruction, raise awareness of verb patterns, and offer extensive practice opportunities coupled with constructive feedback to enhance the students' proficiency in the accurate usage of gerunds and infinitives.

Abstract

Good writing skills are very important for students in facing academic challenges. However, students often have difficulty in writing exposition texts well. This study examines the effect of a speed writing strategy on students' writing ability in the context of analytical exposition texts. The type of research is experimental. The population in this study were all students of SMA Negeri 3 Sungai Penuh, and the samples were the control class (XI IPS 2) and the experimental class (XI IPA 1) determined by random sampling technique. data was collected by a test on exposition text writing skills. The results showed that the control class did not show significant improvement in their writing skills, as the average scores on both tests fell into the "less good" category. However, the experimental class showed significant improvement, with the average post-test score categorized as "excellent". The t-test analysis showed the calculated t value (12.146) > the critical t value (1.713) at the 0.05 significance level. These results indicate that the rapid writing strategy had a positive and significant impact on students in the experimental class, improving their ability to write analytical exposition texts, thus the importance of using effective teaching methods in improving students' writing ability.

Abstract

Pemahaman Al-Qur’an dan penafsairan seseorang terhadap Al-Qur’an tentu terkait dengan penguasaannya terhadap ilmu-ilmu Al-Qur’an, termasuk didalamnya ilmu Qira’at. Perbedaan qira’at didalam Al-Qur’an ada yang tidak berpengaruh kepada penafsiran dan ada yang berpengaruh kepada penafsiran. qira’at yang berimplikasi kepada makna penafsiran Al-Qur’an, dapat mempengaruhi terhadap hukum. Penelitian ini erupakan penelitian kualitatif. Data yang dibutuhkan adalah data tulisan yang diperoleh melalui metode library research, yaitu penelitian melalui kepustakaan dari berbagai literatur, kemudian menganalisanya melalui analisis isi dalam pola deduktif dan induktif. Data tersebut meliputi data primer berupa Al-Qur’an dan tafsir Al Jami’ li Ahkam Al Qur’an dan data sekunder yang digunakan merujuk pada buku-buku, ilmu qira’at, dan sumber bacaan yang lainnya yang berhubungan dengan tema penelitian. Hasil penelitian ini adalah implikasi qira’at yang dan pengaruhnya terhadap tafsir, terutama yang berkaitan dengan istinbath hukum, dalam hal ini berkaitan dengan kajian ayat-ayat thaharah. Perbedaan qiraat memberikan kontribusi yang penting dalam pengambilan keputusan (istinbath) hukum. Pengaruh tersebut rata-rata bersifat positif, dalam arti bahwa perbedaan penafsiran yang disebabkan perbedaan qiraat bersifat saling melengkapi, saling menguatkan, saling menjelaskan. Kalaupun terdapat perbedaan yang tidak bisa dikompromikan maka hal itu justru memberikan alternatif kepada umat Islam untuk menjalankan agamanya secara lebih beragam dan lebih mudah sesuai tuntutan situasi dan kondisi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk sanksi sosial kepada pelaku pencurian dan perzinahan di Kelurahan Sedanau Kecamatan Bunguran Barat. Untuk mendapatkan data, peneliti menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Setelah data diperoleh, peneliti menganalisa dengan menggunakan pendekatan teori teori hududnya Shahrur dan teori hukumnya Imam Syafi’i. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa bentuk sanksi sosial terhadap pelaku tindak pidana pencuri buah cengkeh dilakukan dengan cara pelaku diarak keliling kampung dan diberi kalung cengkeh yang diciuri dengan mengatakan saya pencuri. Sanksi tersebut diperuntukkan kepada pelaku pencurian yang sudah berkali-kali. Dan sanksi sosial bagi pelaku zina yang sudah berkali kali diberi sanksi dengan cara diarak keliling kampung dengan dicambuk berkali-kali menggunakan rotan. orang, mencuri buah-buahan di lingkungan masyarakat tertentu, sanksi hukumnya bergantung adat istiadat dan kesepakatan masyarakat tempatan dan atau menurut kebijakan pemimpin setempat. Sanksi sosial merupakan bentuk hukum yang diberikan oleh masyarakat kepada orang yang melanggar norma-norma dan nilai-nilai adat istiadat. Betuk sanksinya berupa penolakan, pengucilan dan lain sebagainya.

Abstract

This study explores the perceptions of students using the Duolingo application for speaking activities at State Junior High School 4 Langgam. The subject of this research is all eight students State Junior High School 4 Langgam. The data were collected through questionnaires. The questionnaire answers were analyzed descriptively using SPSS 21 and Microsoft Excel. Participants were instructed to select one Likert scale answer in each area based on the statement. By employing a quantitative descriptive method, the research aims to determine the effectiveness of Duolingo in enhancing speaking skills, based on students’ experiences and feedback. The results indicate a mixed perception among students, highlighting both the advantages and challenges of integrating Duolingo into the language learning curriculum.

Abstract

In rural Indonesia the implementation of transformative education policies is essential for bridging the gap between theoretical frameworks and practical application. This study examines the challenges and successes associated with deploying these policies in rural settings, focusing on how they impact educational outcomes and community development. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research includes qualitative interviews with educators and policymakers, as well as quantitative analysis of educational performance data. The findings reveal significant barriers such as inadequate infrastructure, limited access to professional development, and socio-economic disparities. However, the study also highlights successful strategies that have been employed to overcome these challenges, including community involvement and context-specific adaptations. The results underscore the importance of tailored policy interventions that consider the unique needs of rural communities. This paper aims to provide actionable insights for policymakers and educators to enhance the effectiveness of education reforms in rural Indonesia.

Abstract

Cultural heritage preservation is crucial for maintaining social sustainability, particularly through community engagement. This study examines the new paradigm of involving communities in the preservation of cultural heritage, exploring how their participation contributes to social sustainability. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, this research includes qualitative interviews with community members and stakeholders, as well as quantitative analysis of preservation outcomes. Findings indicate that active community involvement enhances the effectiveness of preservation efforts, fosters a sense of ownership, and promotes cultural continuity. This paper aims to provide insights and practical recommendations for policymakers and heritage conservationists to strengthen community-based preservation initiatives.

Abstract

Digital literacy initiatives are crucial in empowering marginalized communities by integrating technology into their daily lives. This study examines the effectiveness of various digital literacy programs aimed at enhancing the technological skills of marginalized groups, thereby promoting socio-economic development and inclusion. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, this research combines quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to assess the impact of digital literacy initiatives on participants' skills, confidence, and socio-economic status. The findings indicate significant improvements in digital competencies, which correlate with increased employment opportunities, better access to services, and enhanced community participation. Furthermore, the study highlights the challenges faced by these initiatives, including limited access to resources, technological infrastructure, and resistance to change. The research concludes with recommendations for policymakers and practitioners to improve the design and implementation of digital literacy programs, ensuring they are inclusive, sustainable, and effective in bridging the digital divide. By focusing on the transformative potential of technology integration, this study underscores the importance of digital literacy as a foundational element for achieving broader socio-economic goals.
