Abstract

This study aims to examine the use of storytelling techniques in guidance and counseling services for early childhood through a library research approach. The background of this study is based on the presence of various socio-emotional problems in early childhood, such as difficulties in emotional regulation, low empathy, and limited social interaction skills. In addition, guidance and counseling services for young children require approaches that align with their developmental characteristics, including the use of concrete and engaging techniques such as storytelling. This research employs a qualitative method with a library research design. Data were collected from various sources, including reputable academic journals, books, and relevant documents. The data were analyzed using content analysis by reviewing, comparing, and synthesizing findings from previous studies. The results indicate that storytelling plays a significant role in supporting children's socio-emotional development, language skills, and self-regulation. Furthermore, storytelling is effective as a therapeutic medium that helps children express their emotions and cope with psychological challenges indirectly. In conclusion, storytelling can serve as a relevant and effective technique in early childhood guidance and counseling services. This study is expected to provide practical insights for educators in developing more appropriate and effective counseling approaches.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses pembelajaran parenting terkait pola asuh anak usia dini melalui mata kuliah “Peran Orang Tua dan Masyarakat”. Pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif digunakan untuk menggambarkan pemahaman mahasiswa mengenai konsep, strategi, dan praktik pola asuh yang diterapkan dalam konteks pendidikan anak usia dini. Data diperoleh melalui diskusi, tanya jawab, serta refleksi pengalaman mahasiswa berdasarkan praktik dan observasi yang dilakukan di sekolah masing-masing. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat dua pola asuh yang umum digunakan oleh wali murid, yaitu pola asuh demokratis dan pola asuh otoriter. Pola asuh demokratis memberikan dampak positif terhadap perkembangan anak, termasuk peningkatan kepercayaan diri, kemampuan bersosialisasi, empati, perkembangan kognitif, dan rasa tanggung jawab. Sebaliknya, pola asuh otoriter cenderung berdampak negatif, seperti meningkatkan stres, menurunkan kepercayaan diri, serta menghambat kemampuan anak dalam mengelola emosi. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya pemahaman pola asuh yang tepat pada masa usia dini, mengingat fase ini merupakan periode awal pembentukan kepribadian anak.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh kegiatan eksplorasi alam terhadap kemampuan observasi anak usia dini. Kemampuan observasi merupakan salah satu aspek kognitif penting yang berkembang melalui interaksi langsung dengan lingkungan, terutama pada tahap sensorimotor dan praoperasional. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen. Subjek penelitian dibagi ke dalam kelompok eksperimen yang mengikuti kegiatan eksplorasi alam dan kelompok kontrol yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui instrumen observasi terstruktur yang diberikan pada tahap pretest dan posttest. Data dianalisis secara statistik untuk melihat perbedaan dan peningkatan kemampuan observasi anak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa anak pada kelompok eksperimen mengalami peningkatan kemampuan observasi yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok kontrol. Kegiatan eksplorasi alam terbukti mampu meningkatkan kemampuan anak dalam memperhatikan, mengidentifikasi, dan mengungkapkan hasil pengamatan secara sederhana. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa eksplorasi alam merupakan strategi pembelajaran yang efektif dan sesuai dengan karakteristik perkembangan anak usia dini.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menguji kelayakan serta efektivitas inovasi pembelajaran pada Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) melalui revitalisasi budaya lokal dengan memanfaatkan Alat Peraga Edukatif (APE) berbasis teknologi digital. Penelitian menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model Borg and Gall yang meliputi tahapan analisis kebutuhan, perencanaan, pengembangan produk, uji coba terbatas, revisi, hingga uji coba lapangan. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari pendidik dan anak usia dini pada satuan PAUD. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi angket, lembar observasi, dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa APE berbasis teknologi digital yang dikembangkan dinyatakan layak berdasarkan hasil validasi ahli materi dan media dengan kategori sangat baik. Uji coba lapangan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan keterlibatan dan pemahaman anak terhadap nilai-nilai budaya lokal. Selain itu, penggunaan APE digital mampu meningkatkan kreativitas dan minat belajar anak. Dengan demikian, inovasi pembelajaran melalui revitalisasi budaya lokal berbasis teknologi digital efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran PAUD dan dapat menjadi alternatif strategi pembelajaran yang kontekstual dan menarik.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Smart Apps Creator-based Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) educational games in improving early childhood health literacy as a continuation of previous research that focused on media development and feasibility (Rahayu & Arzaqi, 2025). The research method used was a quasi-experiment with a one group pretest posttest design that was complemented by observation during implementation. The research subjects consisted of three children aged 57 years who were accompanied by students, with a five day implementation time which included one day of pretest, three days of game implementation, and one day of posttest. The aspects of health literacy studied include personal and environmental hygiene, healthy food, and physical activity. The research instruments were in the form of pretest, posttest, and observation sheets per PHBS game level, then analyzed descriptively, quantitatively and qualitatively. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in children's health literacy in all aspects of PHBS studied. The improvement was seen gradually through the results of daily observation which showed the development of independence, consistency, and accuracy of children's responses in completing each level of the game, and was strengthened by better posttest results than pretests. These findings show that PHBS educational games based on Smart Apps Creator are effectively used as an applicative and contextual health learning media for early childhood.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of queue-based learning as an effort to strengthenemotional regulation in early childhood. The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptivedesign. The subjects were children aged 4–6 years in an early childhood education setting, with teachersserving as supporting informants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, anddocumentation. Data analysis used an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, andconclusion drawing, with data validity ensured through source and technique triangulation. The resultsshowed that initially, children demonstrated limited emotional regulation skills, characterized byimpatience, emotional outbursts, and difficulty waiting for their turn. After consistent implementation ofqueuing activities, there was a noticeable improvement in children’s emotional regulation, includingincreased ability to wait calmly, follow rules, and reduce impulsive behavior. Queuing activities alsofacilitated the internalization of social values such as discipline, patience, and respect for others. Thesefindings indicate that queue-based learning can serve as an effective strategy to develop emotionalregulation in early childhood through direct social experiences. This study implies that simple dailyactivities can be optimized as meaningful tools for social-emotional learning in early childhood education.

Abstract

This study aims to develop children’s cognitive and language abilities. One effective approach to optimizing development in these two aspects is the use of illustrated poster media. Children tend to be more engaged in learning activities that are rich in colors and images, which facilitates the achievement of targeted developmental outcomes. This media is designed as creatively as possible to attract children’s interest in learning numbers more effectively and to enhance their language skills through storytelling methods based on everyday activities.This research employs a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design, involving both an experimental class and a control class. The sample was selected using a purposive sampling technique, consisting of 20 students at RA Bina Mujtama.The results of the study indicate that, after conducting pre-tests and post-tests, the control class showed significant and effective improvement, with noticeable differences between pre-test and post-test scores. Therefore, it can be concluded that illustrated poster media has a significant effect on the cognitive and language development of children at RA Bina Mujtama.

Abstract

Children's interaction patterns with digital gadgets tend to be individualistic, which significantly influences the development of their verbal and nonverbal communication skills. During gadget use, children frequently utilize body language and facial expressions as part of their interactive experience. In terms of linguistic development, gadgets can serve as a double-edged sword; they may facilitate the expansion of vocabulary and improve language imitation skills through educational content, yet they simultaneously pose a risk of diminishing the frequency of direct, face-to-face social interactions if usage remains unsupervised. This research aims to analyze the specific interaction patterns of children aged 3–4 years within the context of gadget use at KB Tunas Jaya, with a primary focus on both verbal and nonverbal communication dimensions. A qualitative research methodology was employed, involving in-depth interviews with parents to gain a comprehensive understanding of home-based digital habits. The findings reveal that children utilize gadgets for a diverse range of activities, including consuming video content, engaging in interactive games, and participating in digital learning exercises. However, the study emphasizes that the mere presence of technology is insufficient for positive growth. Therefore, active mediation and consistent guidance from both teachers and parents are critically required to ensure that gadget use is integrated into the child’s environment in a way that optimally supports their overall communication development. Without such intervention, the potential for social isolation and communication delays increases, highlighting the necessity for balanced digital literacy from an early age. Pola interaksi anak dengan perangkat gawai (gadget) cenderung bersifat individualistik, yang secara signifikan memengaruhi perkembangan kemampuan komunikasi verbal dan nonverbal mereka. Saat berinteraksi dengan gawai, anak-anak sering kali menggunakan bahasa tubuh dan ekspresi wajah tertentu sebagai bagian dari pengalaman interaktif mereka. Dalam aspek linguistik, penggunaan gawai dapat berfungsi sebagai pedang bermata dua; di satu sisi, perangkat ini dapat membantu memperkaya kosakata dan meningkatkan kemampuan meniru bahasa melalui konten edukatif, namun di sisi lain berpotensi mengurangi frekuensi komunikasi langsung secara tatap muka apabila penggunaannya tidak diawasi dengan baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara mendalam pola interaksi anak usia 3–4 tahun dalam konteks penggunaan gawai di KB Tunas Jaya, dengan fokus utama pada dimensi komunikasi verbal dan nonverbal. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam kepada orang tua untuk mendapatkan pemahaman komprehensif mengenai kebiasaan digital anak di rumah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa anak-anak menggunakan gawai untuk berbagai aktivitas, seperti menonton konten video, bermain permainan interaktif, dan mengikuti latihan pembelajaran digital. Namun, penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa kehadiran teknologi saja tidak cukup untuk mendukung pertumbuhan yang positif. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pendampingan aktif dan bimbingan konsisten dari guru serta orang tua untuk memastikan bahwa penggunaan gawai terintegrasi dalam lingkungan anak dengan cara yang mendukung perkembangan komunikasi mereka secara optimal. Tanpa intervensi tersebut, risiko isolasi sosial dan hambatan komunikasi meningkat, sehingga literasi digital sejak dini menjadi sangat krusial.

Abstract

Penggunaan perangkat elektronik pada anak-anak yang masih kecil terus meningkat sejalan dengan kemajuan teknologi digital. Gadget dapat memberikan keuntungan jika dimanfaatkan dengan benar, tetapi penggunaan berlebihan dapat berdampak negatif pada perkembangan emosional anak, termasuk menyebabkan mood swing. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dampak penggunaan gadget berlebihan terhadap frekuensi mood swing pada anak usia dini di BA Baleharjo. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Subjek penelitian meliputi anak usia dini, guru, dan orang tua di BA Baleharjo. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan, serta keabsahan data diperoleh melalui triangulasi sumber dan teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa anak yang menggunakan gadget dalam durasi yang berlebihan cenderung mengalami perubahan suasana hati yang lebih sering, seperti mudah marah, menangis berlebihan, sulit mengendalikan emosi, dan kurang fokus dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Selain itu, penggunaan gadget berlebihan juga berdampak pada perilaku sosial anak, seperti berkurangnya interaksi dengan teman sebaya dan kesulitan dalam bekerja sama. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan gadget berlebihan berpengaruh terhadap meningkatnya frekuensi mood swing pada anak usia dini. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan peran aktif orang tua dan guru dalam mengawasi serta membatasi penggunaan gadget agar perkembangan emosional anak dapat berkembang secara optimal.
