Abstract

ABSTRACT. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengkaji perkembangan bakteri usus halus dan performan ayam kampung silangan kampung-leghorn (KL) akibat ditambahkan ekstrak umbi dahlia dalam ransum. Ternak percobaan yang digunakan adalah persilangan ayam kampung silangan KL sebanyak 200 ekor umur 22 hari dengan rata-rata bobot badan 180,46 1,21 g. Bahan perlakuan meliputi umbi dahlia, ethanol 70%, kertas saring halus serta bahan pakan penyusun ransum (jagung giling, bekatul, bungkil kedelai, tepung ikan, CaCO3 dan mineral dan vitamin mix). Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan (masing-masing unit percobaan diisi 10 ekor). Perlakuan yang diterapkan meliputi: P0=Ransum kontrol/RK, P1=RK+0,39% ekstrak umbi dahlia, P2=RK+0,78 ekstrak umbi dahlia, dan P3= RK+1,17 ekstrak umbi dahlia. Parameter yang diukur meliputi populasi bakteri asam laktat, Escherichia coli, pH digesta tiap masing-masing segmen usus halus dan pertambahan bobot badan harian (PBBH). Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji sidik ragam dan jika berpengaruh nyata dilakukan uji beda nyata Duncan pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan ekstrak umbi dahlia berpengaruh nyata terhadap populasi bakteri asam laktat, Escherichia coli, pH digesta tiap masing-masing segmen usus halus dan PBBH. Kesimpulan adalah penambahan ekstrak umbi dahlia sampai taraf 1,17% sebagai sumber inulin di dalam ransum dapat meningkatkan populasi bakteri asam laktat, menurunkan pH dan Escherichia coli pada masing-masing segmen usus halus serta memperlambat laju digesta dan meningkatkan PBBH. (Population of small intestine bacteria and performance of native chicken-leghorn crossbreed duo to feeding of dahlia tuber extract) ABSTRAK. This study aims to examine the development of small intestine bacteria and the performances of native chicken-leghorn crossbreed due to the addition of dahlia tuber extract in the diet. Experimental animals were 200 unsex native chicken-leghorn crossbreed, 22 days old with an average body weight of 180.46 1.21 g. Treatment materials include dahlia tuber, ethanol 70%, fine filter paper and feed stuff (yellow corn, rice bran, soy bean meal, fish meal, CaCO3, and vitamin-mineral mix). The present experiment was assigned in a completely randomized with 4 treatments and 5 replications (10 birds each). The treatments were: P0=Control Diet/CD, P1=CD+0,39% dahlia tuber extract, P2=CD+0,78% dahlia tuber extract and P3=CD+1,17% dahlia tuber extract. Parameters measured were the number of Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB), Escherichia coli, intestinal potential hydrogen (pH) (duodenal, jejunal and ileal), rate of passage and daily body weight gain (DBWG). Data were subjected to ANOVA and followed by Duncan Multiple Range Test on 5% level. The results indicated that feeding native chicken-leghorn crossbreed with the diet containing dahlia tuber extract (DTE) significantly (P0.05) increased LAB population and DBWG, decreased E. coli population and intestinal pH, and slow the rate of passage down. In conclusion, feeding of dahlia tubers as a source of inulin in the form of dahlia tuber extract to a level of 1.17% increased the population of lactic acid bacteria, reduced pH and Escherichia coli in each segment of the small intestine and retard the rate of digestion and increased body weight gain.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan pakan ampas kelapa (AK) yang difermentasi dengan penambahan ammonium sulfat (AS) terhadap produksi dan kualitas telur telah dilaksanakan. Ampas kelapa ditambahkan AS dengan konsentrasi 0, dan 4% dan 0.1% Ragi (Fermipan) dan diinkubasi selama 5 dan 7 hari. Substrat yang dihasilkan dicampur kedalam pakan dan diberikan kepada 75 ekor ayam petelur fase bertelur umur 20 minggu selama 24 minggu. Pakan perlakuan yang diberikan adalah: pakan kontrol (KTL), kontrol + AK tanpa AS yang difermentasi selama 5 hari (F5-0AS), kontrol + AK dengan 4% AS yang difermentasi selama 5 hari (F5-4AS), kontrol + AK tanpa AS yang difermentasi selama 7 hari (F7-0AS) dan kontrol + AK dengan 4% AS yang difermentasi selama 7 hari (F7-4AS). Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 5 perlakuan, 5 ulangan dan 3 ekor ayam per ulangan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan analisis ragam dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Tukey. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsumsi ransum, produksi telur, bahan kering ekskreta dan kualitas telur dipengaruhi oleh pakan perlakuan (P0,05). Perlakuan tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata (P0,05) terhadap bobot telur, kecernaan bahan kering, persentase kerabang telur, indeks telur dan tinggi albumen. Total bobot telur tertinggi diperoleh pada ayam yang diberi perlakuan fermentasi baik tanpa ataupun dengan penambahan AS. Fermentasi selama 7 hari dapat meningkatkan produksi henday dan jumlah telur. Kualitas terbaik dari aspek indeks kuning telur dan Haugh unit adalah pada perlakuan F7-4AS. Penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa fermentasi dapat meningkatkan total bobot telur dan AS dapat meningkatkan kualitas telur dalam bentuk Haugh unit. (The effect of coconut dregs fermented with the addition of ammonium sulfate on production and quality of eggs) ABSTRAK. An experiment was done to determine the effect of coconut dregs (CD) with the addition of ammonium sulfate (AS) prior to fermentation on productive performance and egg quality. Coconut dregs were added with 0 and 4% AS and 0.1% yeast S. cerevisiae (Fermipan) after autoclaving. The substrates were incubated for 5 and 7 days and mixed into diets and offered to 75 laying hens for 24 weeks. The experimental diets were: control diet (KTL), basal + 5-days- fermented coconut dregs (FCD) without AS (F5-0AS), basal + 5-days FCD with 4% AS (F5-4AS), basal + 7-days- FCD without AS (F7-0AS), basal + 7-days-FCD with 4% AS (F7-4AS). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance with 5 treatments and 5 replications. Data were further tested by the Tukey test. Results of the study indicate that feed intake, hen day production, total egg, total egg mass, excreta dry matter, yolk height, yolk index, and the Haugh unit were statistically affected by the treatments (P0.05). The effects of treatments were not statistically significant (P0.05) on individual egg mass, dry matter digestibility, eggshell percentage, egg shape index, and albumen height. The highest total egg mass was found in birds fed the FCD diets. Fermentation for 7 days could improve hen day production total egg. The higher yolk index and Haugh unit were produced by the hens fed the F7-4AS diet than those eggs produced by controlled laying hens. In conclusion, fermentation could improve total egg mass and AS supplementation could increase the Haugh unit.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. Sapi Aceh merupakan sumber daya genetik ternak lokal dan merupakan rumpun sapi lokal Indonesia yang tersebar di Provinsi Aceh, dan telah ditetapkan berdasarkan Keputusan Menteri Pertanian nomor: 2907/Kpts/OT.140/6/2011 pada 17 Juni 2011. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan keragaman sapi Aceh di Kabupaten Aceh Besar saat ini dengan SNI 7651.3:2013. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari April 2020. Jumlah sampel sapi Aceh jantan berumur 24-36 bulan sebanyak 62 ekor dan 106 ekor sapi Aceh betina berumur 15-18 bulan. Peubah yang diamati (1) tinggi pundak (TP), (2), panjang badan (PB). dan (3) lingkar dada (LD). Penentuan sampel menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, nilai sifat kuantitatif sapi Aceh jantan dan betina masing-masing memiliki tinggi pundak (TP) 108,083,59 cm dan 89,534,26 cm, panjang badan (PB) 110,264,92 cm dan 88,776,52 cm dan lingkar dada (LD) 141,027,34 cm dan 107,228,92 cm. Sebanyak 48,39 % sapi Aceh jantan termasuk kategori kelas III dan 30,19 % sapi Aceh betina termasuk kategori kelas II berdasarkan SNI 7651.3:2013. Sifat kualitatif bentuk muka sapi Aceh jantan dan betina secara keseluruhan berbentuk cekung dengan persentase 80,65 % dan 90,57 %. Sementara tanduk pada sapi Aceh jantan berbentuk ke samping melengkung ke atas dengan rataan persentase 51,61 % dan sapi Aceh betina secara umum hanya membentuk lingkaran tanduk pendek dengan rataan persentase sebesar 67,92 %. Bentuk garis punggung sapi Aceh jantan dan betina berbentuk cekung dengan persentase sebesar 72,58 % dan 79,25 %. ((Identification of quantitative traits and qualitative traits in Aceh cattle in the context of preserving animal genetic resources) ABSTRAK. Aceh cattle are a genetic resource for local livestock and are a clump of local Indonesian cattle spread across Aceh Province, and have been determined based on the Decree of the Minister of Agriculture number: 2907 / Kpts / OT.140 / 6/2011 on 17 June 2011. This study aims to compare the diversity of Aceh cattle in Aceh Besar district currently with SNI 7651.3: 2013. This research was conducted in January - April 2020. The total samples of male Aceh cattle aged 24-36 months were 62 cows and 106 female Aceh cattle aged 15-18 months. The variables observed were (1) shoulder height (TP), (2), body length (PB). and (3) chest circumference (LD). Determination of the sample using purposive sampling method. Based on the results of the study, the quantitative traits of male and female Aceh cattle each had shoulder height (TP) 108.08 3.59 cm and 89.53 4.26 cm, body length (PB) 110.26 4, 92 cm and 88.77 6.52 cm and chest circumference (LD) 141.02 7.34 cm and 107.22 8.92 cm. A total of 48.39% of Aceh male cattle are in class III category and 30.19% of female Aceh cattle are categorized as class II based on SNI 7651.3: 2013. The qualitative characteristics of the face shape of male and female Aceh cattle are overall concave with a percentage of 80.65% and 90.57%. While the horns on male Aceh cattle are curved sideways upward with an average percentage of 51.61% and female Aceh cattle in general only form a short horn circle with an average percentage of 67.92%. The form of the back line of male and female Aceh cattle is concave with a percentage of 72.58% and 79.25%.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. Usus adalah salah satu organ pencernaan yang berperan penting pada proses absorpsi nutrisi sebagai sumber energi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui histologi, histomorfometri dan histokimia sebaran glikogen pada usus ayam buras (Gallus gallus domesticus) sebelum dan setelah menetas menggunakan pewarnaan Haematoksilin-Eosin (HE) dan pewarnaan Periodic Acid Schiff (PAS). Sampel penelitian terdiri atas empat kelompok tingkat umur berbeda, setiap kelompok berjumlah enam usus ayam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perbedaan nyata (P0,05) morfometri usus ayam buras secara makroskopis. Secara histologis pada setiap perkembangan sudah terlihat lapisan usus yang terdiri atas tunika mukosa, submukosa, muskularis, dan serosa. Pada tunika mukosa, didapati tiga lamina yaitu lamina epitelia, propria, dan muskularis mukosa yang mulai teramati pada masa inkubasi hari ke-14. Lamina epitelia berupa sel epitel silindris selapis dengan mikrovili, lamina propria berupa jaringan ikat, dan lamina muskularis mukosa berupa berkas otot polos. Pada tunika mukosa dijumpai adanya sel Goblet dan kripta Liberkuhn yang teramati pada masa inkubasi hari ke-20 dan setelah menetas hari ke-7. Hasil histomorfometri ketebalan lapisan usus, panjang vili, lebar vili, dan diameter lumen usus ayam buras pada masa inkubasi dan setelah menetas menunjukkan perbedaan nyata (P0,05). Temuan reaksi positif kuat terhadap pewarnaan PAS dijumpai pada masa inkubasi hari ke-20 dan setelah menetas hari ke-7 dan positif lemah pada masa inkubasi hari ke-14. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat korelasi antara perkembangan usus ayam secara makroskopis, histomorfometri ketebalan tunika dan vili, serta sebaran reaksi positif kuat terhadap pewarnaan PAS pada masa inkubasi hari ke-20 dan setelah menetas hari ke-7. (Histological, histomorphometrical, and histochemical of intestine on native chicken (Gallus gallus domesticus) during pre and posthatch period) ABSTRAK. The intestines are one of the digestive organ that play an important role in the nutrient absorption process as an energy source. The aim of this study was to determine the histomorphometric and histochemical of glycogen distribution in the intestines of native chickens pre and post hatching periods using Haematoxylin-Eosin (HE) staining and Periodic Acid Schiff (PAS) staining. The samples of this study was consisted of four different age groups, each group consisting of six chicken intestines. The results showed a significant difference (P0.05) on macroscopic morphometry of the native chickens intestine. Histologically in each group has been found the intestines consisting of mucosa, submucous, muscularis, and serous tunic. In the mucosal tunic, there were three layers; ephitelial, propria, and muscularial mucous can be observed during the 14th day of incubation period. Ephitelial layer in the form of cylindrical epithelial cells with microvilli, proprial layer in the form of connective tissue, and layer of the muscularis mucosa form smooth muscle thread. In the mucosal tunic, there was Goblet cells and Liberkuhn crypts that can be observed during the 20th day incubation period and 7th day post hatch. Histomorphometry results of intestinal lining thickness, villi length, villi width, and lumen diameter of native chicken intestine during incubation and post hatching showed significant differences (P0.05). The findings of a strong positive reaction to the staining of PAS were found on the incubation period of the 20th day and post hatching the 7th day and positively weak on the incubation period of the 14th day. It can be concluded that there is a correlation between macroscopic development of chicken intestine, histomorphometric of tunica and villous thickness, as well as the distribution of strong positive reactions to the staining of PAS during the incubation period of the 20th day and post hatching the 7th day.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. Kementerian Pertanian terus berupaya untuk mewujudkan swasembada daging sapi/kerbau melalui pengembangan sapi keturunan Belgian Blue. Salah satu bangsa sapi yang dikembangkan adalah sapi persilangan Belgian Blue dengan Friesian Holstein (BBXFH). Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kualitas karkas sapi persilangan Belgian Blue (BB) dengan Friesian Holstein (FH) dengan menggunakan teknik pencitraan ultrasonografi (USG). Sapi yang digunakan dalam penelitian merupakan sapi pada turunan pertama (F1). Sebanyak 13 ekor sapi jantan hasil persilangan BB dan FH berasal dari BET Cipelang 5 ekor dan 8 ekor dari BBPTU HPT Baturraden dengan umur 14-18 bulan. Pengukuran back fat (BF), longissimus dorsi (LD), skor marbling (SM) dan lemak intramuskular (LIM) dilakukan di antara tulang rusuk ke-12 dan ke-13 dengan teknik pencitraan ultrasonografi. Pengukuran rump fat (RF) dan rump thickness (RT) dilakukan di antara daerah ischium dan ilium. Nilai SM dan PIF dianalisis lebih lanjut menggunakan software image-J sehingga menghasilkan integrated density dan dilakukan uji regresi untuk menentukan kurva standar dan skor marbling serta persentase LIM. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji-t tidak berpasangan (independence t-test) berdasarkan perbedaan lokasi pengambilan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perbedaan lokasi tidak memberikan pengaruh pada skor marbling, %LIM, ketebalan LD, dan ketebalan RT (P0,05), tetapi memberikan pengaruh pada ketebalan BF dan RF (P0,05). Faktor perbedaan pakan juga belum mampu memberikan pengaruh pada SM dan %LIM. Perbedaan ketebalan BF dan RF dapat dipengaruhi karena perbedaan manajemen pemeliharaan dimana sapi-sapi di BBPTU HPT Baturraden dipelihara dengan sistem penggembalaan sehingga mengalami penurunan ketebalan BF dan RF. (Estimation of Carcass Quality in Belgian Blue and Friesian Holstein Crossbreed using Ultrasound Imaging) ABSTRAK. The Ministry of Agriculture strives to achieve beef/buffalo self-sufficiency through the development of Belgian Blue breeds. One of the breeds that has been developed is the crossbreed of Belgian Blue and Friesian Holstein (BBXFH). This study aimed to evaluate the carcass quality of crossbreed BBXFH using ultrasound imaging technique (USG). Cattle used in the study were first breed (F1). A total of 13 bulls BBXFH came from BET Cipelang and BBPTU HPT Baturraden respectively 5 and 8 heads (14-18 months age). Measurements of back fat (BF), longissimus dorsi (LD), marbling score (SM) and intramuscular fat (LIM) were performed between the 12th and 13th ribs by ultrasound imaging technique. Rump fat (RF) and rump thickness (RT) measurements were performed between the ischium and ilium areas. The SM and PIF values were analyzed using image-J software and a regression test was performed to determine the standard curve and the marbling score and the LIM percentage. Data were analyzed using unpaired t-test. The results showed that the difference in location had no effect on the marbling score, % LIM, LD, and RT (P 0,05), but had an effect on BF and RF (P 0,05). The difference factor in feed has not effect on SM and% LIM. The difference in BF and RF obtained in this study might be due to the difference of cattle management, where cattle in BBPTU HPT Baturraden are raising with a grazing system so that the BF and RF decrease.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. Penelitian bertujuan mengkaji pengaruh interaksi taraf suplementasi ekstrak etanol daun waru (Hibiscus tiliaceus) dan rasio jerami padi amoniasi dan konsentrat terhadap efisiensi metabolisme rumen dan total protozoa rumen secara in vitro. Penelitian eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok pola faktorial 3 x 3. Faktor pertama adalah imbangan bahan kering (BK), jerami padi amoniasi (JPA) dan konsentrat yaitu 45:55 (R1), 55:45 (R2), dan 65:35 (R3). Faktor kedua adalah taraf suplementasi ekstrak etanol daun waru yaitu 0 ppm (E0), 200 ppm (E1), dan 400 ppm (E2). Variabel yang diamati adalah total protozoa dan produk fermentasi rumen yaitu sintesis protein mikroba (SPM), volatile fatty acids (VFA), N-NH3, gas metan, rasio Asetat/Propionat (A/P), dan efisiensi konversi glukosa menjadi VFA (EVFA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat interaksi (P0,05) antara rasio JAP: konsentrat dan taraf ekstrak etanol daun waru terhadap N-NH3, total VFA, asam asetat, asam propionat, asam butirat, rasio A/P, dan (EVFA). Rasio JAP: konsentrat R2 menghasilkan EVFA dan SPM lebih tinggi (P0,05) jika dibandingkan dengan R1 dan R3, akan tetapi metan dan protozoa lebih rendah (P0,05). Suplementasi ekstrak etanol daun waru sampai 400 ppm meningkatkan secara liner (P0,05) EVFA, SPM, dan propionate, akan tetapi menurunkan rasio A/P, gas metan, total protozoa, dan asetat. Suplementasi ekstrak etanol daun waru pada taraf 400 ppm dan rasio JAP: konsentrat 55:45% BK dapat meningkatkan efisiensi metabolisme rumen.(Rumen metabolism efficiency of rice straw ammoniation and concentrate based diet supplemented with Hibiscus tiliaceus leaf extract in vitro) ABSTRAK. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of the interaction between the level of supplementation of ethanolic extracts of waru leaves (Hibiscus tiliaceus) and the ratio of ammoniated rice straw and concentrate on rumen metabolism efficiency and total rumen protozoa in vitro. The research was carried out experimentally designed using a 3 x 3 factorial randomized block design. The first factor was the dry matter (DM) ratio of ammoniated rice straw (ARS) and the concentrates were 45:55 (R1), 55:45 (R2), and 65:35 (R3). The second factor was the supplementation level of ethanolic extracts of waru leaves of 0, 200, and 400 ppm for E0, E1, and E2, respectively. The variables measured were total protozoa and rumen fermentation products, namely microbial protein synthesis (MSP), volatile fatty acids (VFA), N-NH3, methane gas, acetate/propionate (A/P) ratio, and efficiency of glucose conversion to VFA (EVFA). The results showed that there was no interaction (P 0.05) between the ratio of ARS:concentrate and the ethanol extract level of waru leaves on N-NH3, total VFA, acetic acid, propionic acid, butyric acid, A/P ratio, and (EVFA). The ratio of ARS: concentrate on R2 resulted in higher EVFA and SPM (P0.05) compared to R1 and R3, but lower methane and protozoa (P0.05). Supplementation of waru leaf ethanol extract up to 400 ppm increased linearly (P0.05) EVFA, SPM, and propionate, but decreased A/P ratio, methane gas, total protozoa, and acetate. Supplementation of the ethanolic extracts of waru leaves at the level of 400 ppm and the ratio of ARS:concentrate is 55: 45% increase the efficiency of rumen metabolism.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of Sauropus androgynus leaf extract (SALE), lemuru fish oil and vitamin E supplementation on performance, carcass quality, and amino acid composition of broiler meat. One hundred and ninety-five broilers aged 21 days were distributed into 13 groups as follows: broilers were fed diet with 0.5% commercial supplement feed (P0), 10 g/kg SALE plus 1% lemuru fish oil (LFO) (P1), 10 g SALE/kg and LFO 1% plus 60 mg vitamin E (P2), 10 g SALE/kg and LFO 2% (P3), 10 g SALE/kg and LFO 2% plus 60 mg vitamin E (P4), 10 g SALE/kg and LFO 3% (P5), 10 g SALE/kg and LFO 3% plus 60 mg vitamin E (P6), 18 g SALE/kg and LFO 1% (P7), 18 SALE g/kg and LFO 1 % plus 60 mg vitamin E (P8), 18 g SALE/kg and FLO 2% (P9), 18 SALE g/kg and FLO 2% plus vitamin E (P10), 18 g SALE/kg and LFO 3% (P11 ), and 18 g SALE/kg and LFO 3% plus 60 mg vitamin E. The variables measured were performance, carcass quality, organoleptic properties, protein and amino acid composition of meats. The experimental results showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P 0.05) on body weight, feed consumption, feed conversion ratio, carcass weight, meat color, meat odor, meat taste, and cooking losses. However, the treatment had a significant effect (P 0.05) on carcass color, spleen weight, and protein content. In addition, the treatment also changes the amino acid composition of the meat. In conclusion, supplementation of 18 g SALE/kg diet, 3% LFO plus vitamin E resulted in meat with the highest protein and amino acid content. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh suplementasi ekstrak daun katuk (EDK), minyak ikan lemuru, dan vitamin E terhadap performa, kualitas karkas, dan komposisi asam amino daging broiler. Seratus sembilan puluh lima ekor broiler umur 21 hari didistribusikan ke dalam 13 kelompok sebagai berikut: broiler diberi pakan mengandung 0,5% pakan imbuhan komersial (P0), 10 g/kg EDK plus 1% minyak lemuru (MIL) (P1), EDK 10 g/kg dan MIL 1% plus 60 mg vitamin E (P2), EDK 10 g/kg dan MIL 2% (P3), EDK 10 g/kg dan MIL 2% plus 60 mg vitamin E (P4), EDK 10 g/kg dan MIL 3% (P5), EDK 10 g/kg dan MIL 3% plus 60 mg vitamin E (P6), EDK 18 g/kg dan MIL 1% (P7), EDK 18 g/kg dan MIL 1% plus 60 mg vitamin E (P8), EDK 18 g/kg dan MIL 2% (P9), EDK 18 g/kg dan MIL 2% plus vitamin E (P10), EDK 18 g/kg dan MIL 3% (P11), dan EDK 18 g/kg dan MIL 3% plus 60 mg vitamin E. Variabel yang diukur adalah performa, kualitas karkas, dan sifat organoleptik, protein dan komposisi asam amino daging. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P0,05) terhadap berat badan, konsumsi pakan, konversi pakan, berat karkas, warna daging, bau daging, rasa daging, dan susut masak. Akan tetapi perlakuan berpengaruh nyata (P0,05) terhadap warna karkas, berat limfa, kadar protein. Selain itu, perlakuan juga mengubah komposisi asam amino daging. Kesimpulannya, suplementasi 18 g EDK/kg pakan, 3% MIL plus vitamin E menghasilkan daging dengan kandungan protein dan asam amino tertinggi.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji produksi susu dan komposisi susu sapi Friesian Holstein (FH) yang mendapat suplemen tepung temulawak (Curcuma Xanthorriza Roxb). Materi penelitian menggunakan sapi FH berjumlah 12 ekor. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan 2 perlakuan dan 6 kelompok. Perlakuannya adalah T0 = pakan basal (kontrol), T1 = pakan basal + suplemen temulawak (1% kebutuhan BK). Parameter yang diamati yaitu konsumsi bahan kering, produksi susu dan komposisi susu. Data yang diperoleh di analisis menggunakan sidik ragam, untuk data komposisi susu dilakukan uji lanjut dengan Paired T test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian suplemen temulawak tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap konsumsi BK, produksi susu dan komposisi susu (laktosa, lemak dan protein). Konsumsi BK T0 sebesar 18,06 kgBK, T1 sebesar 18,15 kgBK, rataan produksi susu T0 sebesar 6,49 liter/hari, T1 sebesar 6,30 liter/hari dan komposisi susu T0 dan T1 secara berturut pada laktosa sebesar 4,58 dan 4,56, kandungan lemak secara berurutan 3,65 dan 3,78 serta kandungan protein secara berurutan sebesar 3,16 dan 3,16. Disimpulkan bahwa pemberian suplemen temulawak 1% kebutuhan BK belum mampu meningkatkan konsumsi bahan kering, produksi dan komposisi susu sapi perah laktasi.(Milk production and milk composition of friesian holstein cows fed with temulawak (Curcuma xanthorriza Roxb) supplement) ABSTRACT. This study aims to examine the milk production and milk composition of friesian holstein cows that fed with temulawak (Curcuma xanthorriza Roxb) supplement. The material of research using 12 FH cows. The study used a randomized block design with 2 treatments and 6 groups. The treatments were T0 = basal feed (control), T1 = basal feed + Curcuma supplement (1% dry matter (DM)). The parameters observed were DM consumption, milk production and milk composition. Data obtained were analyzed using ANOVA, for milk composition data were analyzed using Paired T test. The results showed that the administration of temulawak supplement was not proven significantly towards the dry matter intake, milk production and milk composition (lactose, fat and protein). Dry matter intake T0 group was 18,06 kg, dry matter intake T1 group was 18,15 kg, the average milk production T0 group was 6,49 liters / day, milk production T1 group was 6,30 liters / day. Lactose concentration of group T0 and T1 was 4, 58% and 4,56%, fat concentration of group T0 and T1 was 3,65% and 3,78% and protein concentration of group T0 and T1 was 3,16% and 3,16%. In conclusion, supplements of curcumma 1% DM were not alter dry matter intake, milk production and milk composition.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Recently, exploring unconventional feedstuffs were not merely interested at the point of lower cost, but also natural sources and supporting bird health have been noticing on the critical assessments by poultry nutritionists to serve well broiler meat. This study aimed to examine the effect of including fermented moringa leaf meal (fMOL) + yellow corn (yC) to substitute fractionally commercial diet (CD) on the performances and Income over Feed Cost (IOFC) of the broiler chickens. The study was done in the Field Laboratory of Animal Husbandry, Animal Husbandry Department, Syiah Kuala University from August 4 until September 15, 2020. The study used 100 broiler chicks strain CP 707, unsex. This study was set up into Block Randomized Design (BRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 5 blocks. The treatments were MC0 = 100% CD, MC1= 95% CD + 2,5% fMOL + 2,5% yC, MC2= 90% CDR + 5% fMOL + 5% yC, and MC3= 85% CD + 7,5% fMOL + 7,5% yC. The results of studies showed that including fMOL + yC to substitute partly commercial diet significantly (P0.05) reduced final body weight (FBW) and increased feed conversion ratio (FCR) of the broilers. Feed consumption statistically was not significantly affected but tended to reduce. Using fMOL + yC reduced feed cost but revenue and IOFC also declined.(Pengaruh penggunaan campuran daun kelor dan jagung terhadap performan dan IOFC ayam broiler) ABSTRACT. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat pengaruh penggunaan tepung daun kelor fermentasi (TKF) ditambah dengan jagung kuning (JK) sebagai pengganti sebagian ransum komersil (RK) terhadap performan ayam broiler. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Lapangan Peternakan, Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Syiah Kuala, Banda Aceh. Materi yang digunakan adalah 100 ekor DOC ayam broiler strain CP 707. Ransum perlakuan adalah MC0= RK 100%, MC1= 95% RK + 2,5% TKF + 2,5% JK, MC2= 90% RK + 5% TKF + 5% JK, dan MC3= 85% RK + 7,5% TKF + 7,5% JK. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 5 kelompok. Pengelompokan didasarkan pada berat badan ayam pada awal minggu ketiga. Parameter yang diamati meliputi berat badan akhir, konsumsi dan konversi ransum, dan Income Over Feed and Cost (IOFC), Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa penggunaan TKF + JK sebagai substitusi sebagian ransum komersil nyata (P0,05) menurunkan berat badan akhir dan meningkatkan konversi ransum. Konsumsi ransum tidak nyata berpengaruh, namun cenderung menurun. Pengunaan daun kelor menurunkan biaya ransum, dan IOFC.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Saat ini sudah tersedia berbagai produk teknologi monitoring kesehatan ternak berdasarkan analisis tingkah laku ternak. Namun belum ada teknologi monitoring berdasarkan tingkah laku yang cocok untuk pemeliharaan intensif seperti di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan dasar teknologi monitoring sapi berahi berdasarkan perubahan total durasi berbaring harian antara sapi berahi dengan non berahi. Sebanyak 18 ekor sapi betina Peranakan Ongole (PO) sehat reproduksi ditempatkan pada kandang individu yang terpantau kamera selama 24 jam. Pengambilan data foto posisi berbaring atau berdiri sapi dilakukan tiap 2 menit. Dilakukan penjumlahan durasi total berdiri dan berbaring harian selama satu siklus berahi. Penentuan kondisi berahi menggunakan metode visual dan menggunakan heat detector Brunstmessgerat. Uji T test berpasangan dilakukan untuk membandingkan rata-rata berbaring harian sapi non berahi dengan durasi harian sapi berahi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lama siklus berahi adalah sebesar 20,3 1,5 hari yang mengindikasikan sapi sehat secara reproduksi dan mendapatkan ketercukupan nutrisi pakan. Data total durasi berbaring harian yang didapatkan dari hasil tangkapan foto kamera menunjukkan sebaran data yang terdistribusi normal dan terdapat perbedaan yang nyata antara total durasi berbaring harian sapi berahi 49,83% dengan rata-rata total durasi berbaring harian sapi non berahi 53,60%. Hasil ini membuka peluang untuk dikembangkan menjadi teknologi monitoring sapi berahi berdasarkan perbedaan tingkah laku berbaring sapi. (Decreasing of the total daily lying behavior on oestrus cow, as an opportunity to become an automatic warning system for oestrus cows) ABSTRACT. Today, various livestock health monitoring technology products based on the analysis of livestock behavior are available. However, there is no behavior-based monitoring technology suitable for intensive maintenance such as in Indonesia. This study aims is to obtain the basic monitoring technology for heat cows based on changes of the total daily lying behavior duration between oestrus and non oestrus cows. A total of 18 healthy PO cows were placed in individual pan which were monitored by the camera in 24 hours a day. Collecting photo data from lying or standing position of the cow was done every 2 minutes. The total duration of daily standing and lying behavior for one oestrus cycle was done. The determination of the heat condition used a visual method and a heat detector manufactured by Brunstmessgerat. Paired T-test was conducted to compare the average daily lying behavior of oestrus and non oestrus cows. The results showed that the oestrus cycle length was 20,3 1,5 days, which indicated that the cows were reproductively healthy and had adequate feed nutrition. The total daily lying behavior duration data obtained from the camera photo captures showed that the distribution of data is normally distributed and there is a significant difference between the total daily lying behavior duration of oestrus 49,83% and non oestrus 53,60%. This result opens the opportunity to be developed into a monitoring technology for oestrus cows based on differences in the lying behavior.
