Abstract

ntegrating Islamic science and natural science is a significant challenge in Islamic higher education in Indonesia. This research aims to analyse the implementation of this integration in thesis writing and its impact on the development of Islam-based science at Alauddin State Islamic University Makassar. This qualitative study, which includes data quantification, combines field research and literature review frameworks with a case study approach. Data were collected through thesis document analysis, supported by interviews and questionnaires. Content analysis was used to evaluate the extent to which verses of the Qur'an and their interpretations are integrated with biological studies in a relevant and scientific manner. The results indicate that the majority of students' theses incorporate the Qur'an and its exegesis as a theological foundation, particularly in topics such as ecology, environmental preservation, and biodiversity. However, the implementation of this integration faces several challenges, including a lack of tafsir literature relevant to biological themes and limited student understanding of scientific interpretation methods. Despite these challenges, the integration positively impacts students by strengthening their spiritual values and fostering Islamic-based ecological awareness. The implications of this research highlight the need for developing more systematic scientific integration modules, providing training in scientific interpretation methods for lecturers and students, and strengthening collaboration between science (Biology) and interpretation. These efforts aim to produce integrated scientific works that are academically relevant and contribute to society.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of Augmented Reality (AR) on the meaningfulness of learning Islamic religious education. AR tested in this study include Smart Glasses AR (X1), Mobile Augmented Reality Application (X2), and AR in Books (X1). While the learning meaningfulness variable is divided into three indicators by referring to Clark and Daryanes' theory including problem solving (Y1), critical thinking skills (Y2), and learning motivation (Y3). This quantitative research uses multiple linear regression analysis model. Data was collected through a survey of 99 research respondents. The results show that AR has the most significant impact in increasing learning motivation, as its additional elements create an engaging and interactive learning experience. AR's influence on critical thinking ability ranked second, as the technology encourages the development of analytical and evaluative skills. This is due to AR's focus on improving concept understanding and learner engagement in the learning process. In contrast, the least impact of AR was seen on problem-solving ability, where this technology is more likely to increase motivation and concept understanding rather than providing direct solutions to problems. These findings contribute to improving the understanding of how AR can shape more meaningful learning experiences in the context of Islamic religious education.

Abstract

Innovation is essential for Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), which are inclusive institutions adaptable to various changes. As independent educational entities, pesantren determine their own educational innovations. However, the government and other related institutions also influence and initiate educational innovations in pesantren. This literature study examines educational innovation in pesantren, proposing creative Islamic education as a key aspect of innovation in Indonesia. Theories and insights on enhancing creativity in pesantren are discussed from two perspectives: creative pedagogy and an environment that fosters creativity. Creative pedagogy in pesantren can be implemented through creative teaching, creative learning, and teaching for creativity, all of which are interconnected and complementary. An environment that stimulates creativity arises from the understanding that creativity is not an innate talent but the result of the interaction between an individual's creative potential and their experiences and processes. Therefore, pesantren need to cultivate an educational culture that stimulates creativity and innovate in program implementation to provoke creativity, such as art performances, competitions, and activities that develop students' talents and interests.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the learning of Ma`had Aly Situbondo students in formulating contemporary fiqh law by combining text (yellow book) and context (social reality). In addition, it wants to know the urgency of the science of fiqh and ushul fiqh as a scientific concentration of Ma`had Aly Situbondo in producing Mahasantrinya to become a cadre of jurists (mujtahids). This research uses a case study approach that adopts mostly qualitative research techniques. The primary data was obtained from interviews with several lecturers and students of Ma`had Aly Situbondo and direct observation of the research location. The secondary data is taken from reputable books and journals that discuss Ma`had Aly Situbondo, starting from its history, and regulations, to its development. This study concluded that in formulating contemporary fiqh law, Ma`had Aly Situbondo students combine textual, contextual, and critical approaches while maintaining traditional learning patterns as pesantren in general. The results of Mahasantri fiqh products are published in the Tanwirul Afkar (TA) magazine which contains themes or issues of fiqh law that have not been thoroughly discussed or problems that are currently actual (viral) in society. The character building of the Ma`had Aly Situbondo Mahasantri into a cadre of jurists (mujtahids) is inseparable from the role of the science of fiqh and ushul fiqh. The implications of this research have an impact on the scientific characteristics of Ma`had Aly Situbondo which is considered capable of integrating between shahibul manqul (revelation) and shahibul ma``qul (reason).

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka in MIN 1 Yogyakarta and SD Muhammadiyah Karangploso, two Islamic elementary schools with distinct approaches. The research analyzes adaptation strategies, challenges, and the effectiveness of maintaining Islamic values while ensuring educational quality. A qualitative case study approach was employed, utilizing interviews, observations, and document analysis techniques. The findings of this study indicate that MIN 1 Yogyakarta implements student-centered learning and character-building projects through P5RA, whereas SD Muhammadiyah Karangploso emphasizes gamification, environmental exploration and entrepreneurship in P5. Key challenges identified include delays in teaching materials, limited resources, and insufficient teacher training, which are mitigated through self-paced and group training sessions. The Kurikulum Merdeka promotes flexibility and strengthens Islamic character but necessitates continuous evaluation and improvement of facilities. Unlike previous research that focused on policy readiness, this study highlights local innovations and compares practices between public and private schools. These findings provide strategic recommendations for Islamic schools and policymakers to optimize the Kurikulum Merdeka.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of local-needs-based marketing strategies at MA Al-Wasilah Lil Hasanah, a Madrasah Aliyah in Warungkiara, Sukabumi, West Java, Indonesia, where educational access is often constrained in rural areas. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis. The findings demonstrate that a hybrid marketing model, integrating community-based engagement with digital strategies, significantly enhances student enrollment and community trust. Traditional methods, such as religious gatherings and social events, foster strong local connections, while digital marketing, despite infrastructural challenges, broadens outreach. By aligning strategies with socio-cultural values, the madrasah strengthens its sustainability and public confidence. This research offers practical insights for optimizing marketing in Islamic schools and highlights the potential of hybrid models for global Islamic educational institutions facing similar challenges. Further studies are recommended to explore the long-term efficacy of digital marketing in rural education settings.
