Abstract

Coronavirus disease infection 2019 (Covid-19) has infected tens of millions of people in a worldwide pandemic. The main cause of COVID-19 is SARS-CoV-2. Prevention of transmission is carried out by vaccination against COVID-19. The absorption capacity of COVID-19 is still low, so an analysis of the knowledge and confidence profile of COVID-19 vaccination in the community is carried out. The main thing from this research is to look at the relationship between knowledge of people's attitudes towards Covid-19 vaccination. The method used for data sampling is analytic observational research with cross sectional method, with 380 Surabaya residents as respondents who were selected by consecutive sampling technique through questionnaire data collection. The population of this study were all residents of Surabaya who had completed the phase I and phase II vaccinations. In this study, using a data collection sheet to record secondary data on AEFI incident sheets from the Surabaya City Health Office and using a survey method through questionnaires distributed to subjects. Data analysis used statistical analysis of logistic test. From the results of the study, as many as 77.8% of the public knew about the COVID-19 vaccine, categorized with a very good score. This high score indicates a high level of public trust. So this is proven by the increasing level of confidence by 83.1%, it is proven that respondents have a positive attitude towards the success of controlling COVID-19. This study shows that there is a 94.7% relationship between knowledge of public attitudes towards Covid-19 vaccination, therefore knowledge and belief need to be carried out to the community so that the intention to carry out COVID-19 vaccination increases, so that it will suppress the rate of virus transmission.

Abstract

Floating drug delivery system (FRDDS) is a new drug delivery system that is intended to prolong the time of drugs in the stomach. One form of the gastroretentive system is a floating tablet, which can float and stay in the stomach for some time. Preparations with this system are suitable for use in drugs that have an action on the stomach. Gastritis is defined as an inflammation or swelling of the inner lining of the stomach. Guava leaves are proven to have active ingredients that can act as anti-ulcers. This study aims to formulate floating tablets and determine the optimal combination of HPMC with xanthan gum in the formulation of floating tablets of guava leaf extract based on flotation testing and in vitro dissolution profiles. The extract was made using maceration method with 96% ethanol as solvent. The tablets were made in a number of 3 formulas using the wet granulation method. Each tablet weighed 500 mg with a combination of various types of HPMC K100M, HPMC K15M, HPMC K4M with xanthan gum as a floating agent. The formula produced the best tablet quality with a combination of HPMC K100M and xanthan gum as a floating agent. Based on the results of the in vitro dissolution profile, the drug release rate ranged from 23,604% - 26,846% with in 360 minutes (6 hours).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan fitokimia dan menentukan kadar toksisitas dari ekstrak daun paku sisik naga (D.Pilloselloides) yang terdapat di kawasan Universitas Mulawarman. Ekstrak dibuat menggunakan cara maserasi menggunakan pelarut metanol dan n-heksan. Uji toksisitas dilakukan dengan metode BSLT menggunakan larva udang Artemia salina yang telah dipelihara hingga berumur 48 jam. Uji fitokimia pada ekstrak daun paku sisik naga fraksi metanol menunjukkan adanya alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, steroid, dan fenolik. Sedangkan untuk fraksi n-heksan terdapat kandungan alkaloid dan steroid. Hasil uji toksisitas menunjukkan ekstrak daun paku sisik naga bersifat toksik dengan nilai LC50 dari fraksi metanol dan fraksi n-heksan berturut-turut adalah 44,67 ppm dan 239,88 ppm.

Abstract

Antioxidants can be found naturally in plants, animals, and microbes, or they can be produced chemically. The selection of plants to find the new bioactive compounds are carried out through ethnobotany and chemotaxonomic approaches. One plant that can be developed as an antioxidant is parang romang (Boehmeria virgata). This study aimed to identify an antioxidant activity on the roots, stems, leaves, and flowers of parang romang plant qualitatively and quantitatively. The parang romang plant used was obtained from Malino Regency, South Sulawesi. The roots, stems, leaves, and flowers were extracted using the reflux method and then concentrated using a rotary evaporator. Each part was analyzed for its chemical content and activity qualitatively and quantitatively. Qualitative analysis was carried out with sitroborat, folin ciocalteu, DPPH, FRAP, and CUPRAC reagen, while quantitative analysis was carried out by spectrophotometry using the DPPH method. The roots, stems, leaves, and flowers were detected to contain phenolic, and flavonoid compounds and have antioxidant activity based on qualitative analysis. The antioxidant activity of parts of the parang romang plant is classified as strong to very strong, with an AAI value of 1.5 - 4.54. All parts of the plant tested have antioxidant activity.

Abstract

Burns can be caused by heat or other acute trauma, currently the number of cases is still high in Indonesia and the world. The advances of burns treatment are made through research on possible natural ingredients. Flavonoids are polyphenolic compounds that are most commonly found in plants and as well as possible in burn healing. The aims of this literature review are decribed burns, histological structure of skin, and the effectiveness of flavoinoids in burns healing. The method used in this literature review is by searching data through the Science Direct, PubMed, and Google chrome databases. The search results of 19 appropriate journals, it was found that the flavonoid compounds can heal burns through their ability to inhibit prostanoid biosynthesis, inhibition of phosphodiesterase, and various other important mechanisms. Keywords: burns, histological structure of skin, flavonoids, burns healing Abstrak Luka bakar dapat sebabkan oleh panas atau trauma akut lain, saat ini jumlah kasusnya masih tinggi di Indonesia maupun dunia. Kemajuan pengobatan luka bakar dilakukan melalui penelitian bahan alami yang berpotensi. Flavonoid adalah senyawa polifenolik yang paling banyak ditemukan pada tumbuh-tumbuhan serta berpotensi dalam penyembuhan luka bakar. Literature review ini bertujuan mengulas tentang luka bakar, struktur histologi kulit serta potensi flavonoid pada penyembuhan luka bakar. Metode yang digunakan dalam pembuatan literature review ini dengan pencarian data melalui database pada Science Direct, PubMed, dan Google chrome. Dari hasil pencarian ditemukan 19 jurnal yang sesuai, diperoleh hasil bahwa senyawa jenis flavonoid yang terkandung pada beberapa tumbuhan berpotensi menyembuhkan luka bakar melalui kemampuannya dalam penghambatan biosintesis prostanoid, penghambatan fosfodiesterase, serta berbagai mekanisme penting lainnya. Abstract

Kopi robusta adalah salah satu jenis kopi yang banyak dibudidayakan di Indonesia. Salah satu proses yang dapat menentukan kualitas kopi adalah proses roasting. Tingkatan proses roasting biji kopi dapat diklasifikasikan menjadi light, medium dan dark. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh roasting terhadap kadar kafein dalam biji kopi robusta yang berasal dari Temanggung. Biji kopi dianalisis secara organoleptis, pH dan di ukur densitasnya. Seduhan serbuk biji kopi diekstraksi cair-cair dengan kloroform, filtrat yang diperoleh diuapkan sehingga terbentuk kristal. Hasil kristal dianalisis secara organoleptis, analisa kualitatif dengan reagen Parry dan analisa kuantitatif dengan spektrofotmeter UV. Persentase kadar kafein dalam sampel kopi dianalisis menggunakan software SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan proses roasting mempengaruhi warna, bau, ukuran biji kopi dan densitas serta pH berkisar antara 4,65-4,73. Hasil uji kualitatif membuktikan bahwa dari semua sampel kopi robusta, yaitu green bean, light, medium, dan dark roasting mengandung kafein. Uji kuantitatif menyatakan bahwa kadar kafein terendah adalah green bean (0,64%) dan tertinggi adalah dark roasting (1,58%).

Abstract

Diabetes melitus adalah gangguan metabolik kronis yang ditandai dengan hiperglikemia atau tingginya glukosa dalam darah karena gangguan dalam sekresi maupun respons terhadap hormon insulin. Menurut data dari International Diabetes Federation, prevalensi diabetes melitus di seluruh dunia sudah sangat tinggi, yaitu 537 juta pada tahun 2021. Akan tetapi, sudah ada berbagai obat alternatif alami yang dapat digunakan untuk menangani penyakit tersebut. Dalam beberapa penelitian, banyak tanaman yang sudah teruji khasiatnya sebagai obat antidiabetes alami karena kandungan fitokimianya. Studi literature review ini dilakukan dengan pencarian data melalui Google Scholar dan Science Direct dalam kurun  waktu 10 tahun terakhir (2013-2022). Dari 29 artikel yang sesuai diperoleh hasil bahwa beberapa kandungan fitokimia pada tumbuhan seperti alkaloid dengan kemampuannya memperbaiki sel beta pankreas, flavonoid sebagai astringen, saponin dengan kemampuannya menstimulasi sekresi insulin dari sel beta pankreas, dan tanin sebagai antioksidan alami berpotensi menurunkan glukosa darah pada diabetes melitus tipe 1 dan 2.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease requires continuous therapy by professional health workers and self-care management from the patients. To support this, diabetic patient who seek treatment at the primary healthcare facilities is recommended to join The Chronic Disease Management Program (Prolanis). During the Covid-19 pandemic, the frequency of diabetic-related prolanis activities became less monitored, especially regarding the accuracy of using antidiabetic oral (ADO). A quasi-experimental study was conducted through drug education by pharmacists to determine the effect of such education on clinical outcomes, namely the patient's glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels. The results showed that there was a decrease in HbA1c levels (1.31%) in the intervention group (n=7) and an increase in HbA1c (0.51%) in the control group (n=17; p=0.078). Eventhough it was not statistically significant due to limited research subjects, education on the proper use of ADO can reduce HbA1c levels in diabetic patients.

Abstract

Celery plants contain limonene which belongs to the terpen group which has the potential as antifungal. This study aims to determinethe formulation of celer essential oil anti-dandruff gel shampoo that meets the physical quality requirements with a concentration 0f 1%, 5%, 10%, and to test the effectiveness of celery essential oil anti- dandruff gel shampoo against the fungus Candida albicans that causes dandruff. The research method was carried out experimentally by making an anti-dandruff gel shampoo formula containing celery (Apium graveolens) essential oil and testing its effectiveness against the fungus Candida albicans that causes dandruff using the well method. This study tested the antifungal effectiveness of essential oil anti-dandruff gel shampoo from formula 0 without celery essential oil (blank) as a negative control, formula 1 with 1% celery essential oil concentration, formula 2 with 5% celery essential oil concentration, formula 3 with 10% celery essential oil concentration, and dandruff shampoo containing 2% ketoconazole as a positive control. The result showed that 1. Celery essential oil can be formulated into anti-dandruff gel shampoo preparations that meet the physical quality requirement. 2. The antifungal effect of celery essential oil anti-dandruff gel shampoo on Candida albicans fungus is very strong with an average inhibitor zone diameter of 20,36 mm in formula 1 21,40 mm in formula 2, 21,60 mm in formula 3. There were differences in the inhibitor vale of each concentration of celery essential oil gel shampoo (p<0,05). Concentration of 5% has provided an optimal effect in inhibiting the growth of the fungus Candida albicans.

Abstract

Antipsychotics are the first-line treatment option for schizophrenia, with the goal of reducing symptoms and preventing relapse. The study aimed to identify and analyze changes in the pattern of use of antipsychotics in prescribing schizophrenia patients based on the category of drug name, class, and dosage form from 2019 to 2021 at 3 primary health care centers in Banjarmasin. The study was designed as a descriptive study, with data collected retrospectively and using a purposive sampling technique based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. A total of 154 samples were analyzed. The results showed a change in the frequency of use of antipsychotics based on the category of drug names, i.e., haloperidol, chlorpromazine, trifluperazine, clozapine, and risperidone; data on the use of the typical antipsychotic group continued to increase compared to the atypical group; and there was no change in the form of prescribing antipsychotics in tablet form. As a result, it was concluded that there is a shift in the use of antipsychotics through prescribing in schizophrenia patients, as evidenced by a change in the percentage of use of both drug items and antipsychotic groups at the 3 primary care health centers from 2019 to 2021.
