Abstract

This study analyzes the history, philosophical meaning, and economic development of Songket Silungkang Duo in Sawahlunto City. Using a qualitative literature study approach, data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results show that Songket Silungkang is a cultural heritage passed down from generation to generation as an adaptive response of the community to difficult geographical conditions. In Silungkang Duo, the weaving tradition is maintained by nine active artisans who received loom assistance in 2019. The motifs of pucuak rabuang, kaluak paku, and itik pulang patang contain philosophical meanings about usefulness, humility, togetherness, as well as the values of beauty, sacredness, perseverance, precision, and patience. The government, through the Cooperatives and Trade Office, has been conducting weaving training since 2012, which has succeeded in increasing the number of artisans and diversifying products. Analysis of Granovetter's social attachment theory shows that the relationship between artisans and their landladies is not only economic but also social. Parsons' AGIL scheme analysis shows that empowerment programs fulfill the functions of adaptation, goal achievement, integration, and pattern maintenance. Challenges such as low wages and declining interest from the younger generation are still faced, but opportunities are open through government support, digital technology, and the global market. The development of songket as a creative economy is inseparable from an understanding of its history and philosophy

Abstract

Cassava crackers are a traditional food product that has been passed down through generations in Silungkang Duo Village and is now recognized as one of the village's leading products. This study aims to analyze in-depth the cassava cracker production process carried out by the local community, identify factors that influence product quality, and examine the obstacles faced by micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME) in maintaining production continuity. The approach used was descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and field documentation. The main informant was Azwir, the Head of Talang Tuluih Hamlet and a cassava cracker entrepreneur who has run the business for generations. The research findings indicate that the cassava cracker production process includes six main stages: raw material cultivation, initial processing, dough milling and fermentation, traditional molding, natural drying, and distribution and marketing. Product quality is influenced by the quality of the raw materials, fermentation duration and technique, weather conditions during drying, and workforce competency. The main obstacles that arise include dependence on weather, limited production technology, and inconsistent raw material quality. Nevertheless, cassava crackers from Silungkang Duo Village have a competitive advantage in the form of a distinctive taste and texture resulting from a traditional fermentation process. This article recommends the implementation of appropriate technology, process standardization, and expansion of marketing networks as sustainable development strategies.

Abstract

The import of used clothing poses a real threat to Indonesia’s textile and textile products (TPT) industry and has been prohibited since the issuance of Minister of Trade Regulation No. 51/M-DAG/PER/7/2015. Although regulations have been tightened, the illegal import of used clothing from various countries, including Hong Kong, continues and shows an upward trend. This study aims to analyze the threat of used clothing imports from Hong Kong to Indonesia in terms of trade volume, economic impact on the local industry, and the effectiveness of existing policies. The method used was a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of 14 scientific journal articles published from 2019 to 2025, combined with an analysis of empirical import data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of the Republic of Indonesia for the year 2025. The research results indicate that over the 10-month period available in 2025, the volume of used clothing imports from Hong Kong via Tanjung Perak Port reached 100,610 kg, exhibiting a fluctuating pattern that suggests importers’ adaptation to government enforcement measures. A sharp decline in April 2025 of 1,764 kg was followed by a steep rise in November and December 2025, reaching 14,385 kg and 15,857 kg, respectively the highest levels of the year. These findings confirm that the threat of imports is persistent and adaptive, thus requiring a structural policy response rather than merely sporadic enforcement. This study concludes that there is a need for strengthened interagency coordination, modernization of port surveillance systems, and the continuous empowerment of the local textile, apparel, and footwear (TAF) industry.

Abstract

Employee performance plays a crucial role in supporting organizational effectiveness and achieving company objectives. However, employee performance can be influenced by various factors, including work environment conditions and job promotion opportunities. This study aims to analyze the effect of work environment and job promotion on employee performance at PT Karuniatama Polypack, both partially and simultaneously. The research employed a quantitative approach with an associative research method. The population consisted of employees of PT Karuniatama Polypack, with 103 respondents selected as the research sample. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, t-tests, and F-tests. The findings reveal that the work environment has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Job promotion also has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Furthermore, the results indicate that work environment and job promotion simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. These findings suggest that creating a supportive work environment and implementing a fair and transparent job promotion system can improve employee motivation, productivity, and overall performance. Therefore, management should continuously enhance both factors to support organizational goals and improve company competitiveness.

Abstract

This study analyzes the supply chain of shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) production through a qualitative literature review approach. The study aims to examine the structure and flow of the production-stage supply chain, identify factors influencing supply chain performance at the farmer level, analyze dominant production risks, and evaluate performance based on efficiency, productivity, and sustainability aspects. Data were obtained from scientific articles, national and international journals, and other relevant academic publications related to agribusiness supply chains and shallot production. The findings indicate that the supply chain structure varies across production centers. Grobogan and Bantul show multi-tiered distribution patterns involving farmers, collectors, wholesalers, and retailers, while Brebes demonstrates a more vertically integrated agroindustry model where farmers directly supply processing industries. Supply chain performance at the production stage is influenced by cultivation technology, agroclimatic variability, institutional capacity, and socio-demographic characteristics of farmers. Major risks include climate uncertainty, seed quality issues, pest and disease attacks, input price fluctuations, and limited access to market information. Strengthening farmer coordination, adopting adaptive cultivation technologies, and developing structured partnerships are essential strategies to improve supply chain efficiency, productivity, and sustainability.
