Abstract

Tanjung Rejo Tourism Village is the only mangrove tourism village in Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra. The priority problem that occurs at the service location is that the people do not yet understand that preserving mangroves can provide prosperity for the community. People still like to cut down mangroves to sell as charcoal or make full-fledged fish ponds. Community’s indifference in preserving mangrove forests can also be caused by their lack of involvement in mangrove forest management. The purpose of holding community service in the Tanjung Rejo is to open the insight of the people regarding the importance of managing mangrove forest resources and in turn will ensure the sustainability of these natural resources. The method is socialization in the form of lectures, discussions and making action plans. The results are community/partners were very enthusiastic about the socialization provided by the PKM Village Development Team. Through the outreach provided, community/partners can understand the concept of sustainable tourism and can develop action plans to implement the sustainable tourism agenda in the Tanjung Rejo Tourism Village. The conclusion and suggestion from the implementation of this PKM is the creation of an action plan to be implemented in Tanjung Rejo village.

Abstract

Increasing partner empowerment through knowledge and skills to create added value and increase tourism competitiveness in Cikahuripan Tourism Village requires several efforts. However, efforts to assist in designing interpretation media to support the realization of disaster education tourism packages have the potential to provide solutions. The purpose of this study is to design interpretation media in Cikahuripan Tourism Village, West Bandung Regency. The method uses Participatory Action Research (PAR) on Pokdarwis Tjikahoeripan Gebied as the main partner, which is supported by PT. Katarda Indo Global as an industry partner. Data acquisition through interviews, observation, and documentation to obtain in designing interpretation media for disaster education tourism packages. The data obtained were then analyzed using descriptive qualitative methods and map analysis. The results of the activity showed that interpretation media that can support disaster education tourism packages in Cikahuripan Tourism Village can be in the form of guidebooks, posters, and flyers. Interpretation media contains information about the profile of attractions in Cikahuripan Tourism Village which is equipped with a geotrek route and a map of the distribution of attractions. This activity has implications for tourism village managers in Indonesia, especially tourism villages that are in areas prone to natural disasters.

Abstract

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have a role in poverty alleviation, opening up employment opportunities, and improving community welfare. This major contribution requires all parties (including academics) to be able to improve the competence and professionalism of MSME actors, including setting competitive selling prices. MSME Salai Limbek Nita is an MSME engaged in the processing of smoked catfish. From the results of interviews with MSME leaders, so far the determination of selling prices has only been based on the prevailing market price, without considering the cost components inherent in the product, such as the cost of raw materials, labor, and overhead. This indicates that production costs and the determination of the desired profit are not known with certainty. Increasing the sales volume of MSME products certainly requires certainty regarding the absorption of costs from the product. When a product is mass-produced, an uncompetitive price will be able to reduce the number of consumers. Therefore, a clear determination of the cost of production (cost) is needed, so that MSME actors can determine at what level of profit and selling price their products will be marketed. The training and mentoring attended by 19 participants from Salai Limbek UMKM and other UMKM participants in Nagari Sungai Puar succeeded in increasing the understanding and competence of participants in determining the cost of production produced in mass, as shown by the results of the questionnaire and abilities during mentoring. It is hoped that this training and mentoring will make a significant contribution to the development of UMKM in Nagari Sungai Puar, Agam Regency.

Abstract

Snake envenomation is classified as a medical emergency that can result in significant tissue necrosis and potentially fatal outcomes. The Sembalun Bumbung region, situated in a highland or mountainous area and surrounded by dense forest, is considered a high-risk zone for snakebite incidents. The local population, particularly in Sembalun Bumbung, demonstrates limited knowledge regarding appropriate first aid measures for snakebite cases, thereby necessitating a public health intervention aimed at increasing community awareness, with a specific focus on children. a health education outreach was conducted in a single session at MTs NW Gunung Pangsor, involving 50 participants. Educational content was delivered by subject matter expert through a powerpoint presentation, supplemented by a live demonstration using a real snake. The session lasted approximately 45 minutes and was followed by an interactive question-and-answer segment. To assess the participants comprehension, an oral quiz was administered to 10 individuals selected at random. All participants provided accurate and appropriate responses. Consequently, the educational intervention was deemed effective in improving participants knowledge regarding the identification of venomous and non venomous sankes, as well as evidence based strategies for the prevention and initial management of snakebite envenomation

Abstract

The unstoppable flow of information can be accessed by children. Parents as the child's closest ecosystem, have an important role to assist in using this technology. This education was provided by the Fatayat Nahdatul Ulama (NU) group in one of the Madiun areas. In order to prevent and solve problems related to the use of gadgets, efforts can be made through increasing community participation through socialization and education as a preventive measure. This program involved 40 Fatayat women. The service program aims to provide knowledge that can ultimately help individuals have awareness of the role of women related to digital literacy. The method of service carried out using lectures and discussions. Abstract

The Jomblang Village Farmers Group has effectively utilized a community service program to transform agricultural waste into valuable resources. By employing corn cobs, farmers have attained the capacity to independently produce high-quality fermented livestock feed. Proper training and the provision of tools have enabled the community to manage waste in a sustainable manner, thereby mitigating the adverse environmental impacts of agricultural waste. This initiative is particularly focused on addressing the challenge of limited availability of quality livestock feed during the dry season.The design and development of a tool for producing fermented feed from corn cobs was informed by observations of the partners' challenges. This tool was subsequently employed, and training was provided to the partners on the production of fermented feed and the operation of the tool. This approach empowers the partners to independently produce quality fermented feed, thereby reducing environmental pollution caused by the improper disposal of corn cobs while concurrently enhancing the quality of livestock feed

Abstract

This activity aimed to cultivate a saving habit from an early age through direct financial literacy outreach in schools. The initiative was motivated by the relatively low saving culture among Indonesians compared to other Asian countries. Conducted on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at SDN 01 Sugian, East Lombok, the outreach involved 63 students from grades 5 and 6. The program facilitated interactive communication between the presenter and the students, which enhanced the effectiveness of the material delivery. The activity successfully improved students’ understanding of the importance of saving and received positive responses from both teachers and parents. However, the increasing exposure of children to technology presents a challenge, as it raises concerns about their vulnerability to deceptive financial advertisements, including fraudulent investments. Therefore, continuous financial education is strongly encouraged by educators and parents to help students develop sound financial planning skills from an early age and to protect them from risks such as online gambling and unregulated online loans

Abstract

This community service project aims to educate the community about stunting. The employed approaches include observation, socialisation (specifically stunting socialisation, pregnant exercises, and the distribution of iron supplements), and interviews. The event took place at the village hall in Sukoharjo district on August 13, 2024, with 19 people in attendance. The activity's results indicated that the stunting education was conducted effectively, with participants demonstrating enthusiasm. They reported an increased awareness of the dangers of stunting, prompting them to enhance nutritional intake during pregnancy and for toddlers, thereby promoting optimal growth and development in children. This activity has led to an enhanced comprehension among participants regarding stunting, complementary feeding (MPASI), the risks of anaemia in pregnant women, and prenatal exercises that better equip them for childbirth.

Abstract

The strategy of using video media is very powerful in today's technological era. However, the current problem is the lack of skills and abilities in producing and developing videos into an interesting media. Thus, the availability of adequate basic knowledge and skills in editing and videography is very important, especially in efforts to advance promotion in the field of tourism. This research was conducted with a qualitative approach using data collection techniques: interviews, observations, documentation, and questionnaires. With this method, it is expected to obtain concrete data that is in accordance with the needs of the research carried out in Labuhan Brondong Lamongan village. After the data was collected, it was then analyzed using a qualitative descriptive method. The results of community service show that this activity has a positive impact on residents, managers, government, and the wider community. This activity is also able to empower the community in developing the promotion of Kutang Beach Tourism in Labuhan Brondong Lamongan Village.

Abstract

Waste management is an important topic in a variety of fields, including Padangsambian Kaja village. 3R Programs (Reduction, Reuse, Recycling) are effective solutions to reduce the negative impact of waste on the environment. One way this program can be supported is Ovitrap, which helps to control mosquito breeding and at the same time reduce organic waste. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the application of the Ovitrap method in supporting SDN 2 Padangsambian 3R programs in Padangsambian Kaja Village. Methods used include in-person observations and interviews with school staff and the community. The results show that the use of organic waste in ovitrap, environmental awareness, and the decline in mosquito populations around schools may be reduced. The program will have a positive effect on more efficient waste management and improve environmental quality in and around SDN 2 Padangsambian.
