Abstract

The Independent Learning Campus Independent Program (MBKM) is a program that provides flexibility for students to improve and enrich their knowledge and skills competition by being directly involved in the real world in learning according to their knowledge and fighting spirit to realize their goals. One of the activities on campus is teaching as a teaching assistant in primary and secondary school education units with a period of time determined by government regulations. The results of the discussion in the study program concluded that students were considered to have not received sufficient provisions to engage directly in carrying out learning in schools, for example, they had not fulfilled several programs or lectures that supported these activities. Therefore, it is deemed necessary to provide training in the form of training to increase student competence. This service activity is carried out in stages: 1) presenting material or theory of making learning devices with assistance by lecturers; 2) teaching practice in small groups called micro teaching. The results of the activities carried out for a weeks concluded that: 1) the students were enthusiastic in participating in the activities; 2) running of teaching and learning practice activities well and smoothly; 3) appreciation of neat and systematic reporting of activities to the dean level

Abstract

This activity aims to introduce the potential of Javanese ginseng leaves in making pudding and provide in-depth education regarding the health benefits of this ingredient and how to process it. Counseling on the processing of Javanese ginseng leaf pudding was held at SMK Negeri 57, Jakarta, according to a schedule that did not interfere with academic activities. This activity aims to teach 53 students about the health benefits and techniques for making pudding from Javanese ginseng leaves. The program includes planning, socialization, and practice of making pudding. Afterwards, questionnaires will be collected to evaluate the impact of the program and adjust future materials. The Javanese ginseng leaf pudding education program at SMKN 57 Jakarta succeeded in increasing participants' knowledge and received positive feedback about the taste and health benefits. However, challenges such as low frequency of consumption and hesitation to buy again indicate the need for better marketing strategies and more in-depth education. It is recommended that the lecturer team improve marketing materials and packaging, as well as explore additional distribution channels. Students are expected to actively promote and educate about products to increase adoption and consumption.

Abstract

The purpose of this activity is to contribute positively to enhancing the capacity of the local community, both in knowledge and skills, so that they can manage agricultural potential as educational tourism attractions that benefit their economic and social well-being. The implementation methodology includes steps and strategies such as field research and in-depth interviews to identify local potential. Once the potential is identified, technical guidance is provided gradually and continuously to improve the community's capacity to manage agricultural potential into educational tourism attractions. These steps include training on processing agricultural products, marketing strategies, and developing sustainable tourism attractions. The results of the activity show an increase in the community's knowledge and skills in processing agricultural products such as tobacco, chilies, and melons into value-added products, such as souvenirs for visitors. The results and discussion of this activity also highlight the significant positive impact on the community's perspective regarding tourism potential, while also providing an analysis of the impact seen through the village's economic growth. Abstract

Dusun Sambirejo and Dusun Tapansari, located in Desa Watusigar, Ngawen Subdistrict, Gunung Kidul Regency, Central Java, hold considerable untapped creative economic potential, particularly in the tourism sector. This potential stems from the area's natural beauty, cultural traditions, and unique local products such as traditional hats, soy milk, horticultural snacks, recycled crafts, and herbal medicine. However, several challenges have been identified, including limited community skills in producing creative products, lack of knowledge regarding effective packaging techniques, and restricted market access. The goal of this community service activity is to strengthen the entrepreneurial capacity of the community through creative economy initiatives in both villages. The method employed is a participatory ethnographic approach, which provides an in-depth understanding of the social and cultural environment of the target community. The results of this initiative indicate a high potential for developing a creative economy based on the area's natural and cultural wealth. This potential can be optimized through innovations in attractive and environmentally friendly packaging, improvements in production efficiency, and broader marketing strategies, including digital marketing. These innovations are expected to enhance the economic value of local products, expand market access, and significantly contribute to the economic improvement of the community at both regional and national levels

Abstract

Harapan Island, located in the Thousand Islands, holds amazing natural beauty, where the view of the sea, white beach sand, coral reefs, and beautiful island scenery are the main attractions. The people of the Thousand Islands, in addition to living from marine products or fishermen, have also started to develop the economy through tourism activities, this is marked by the beginning of many people who have changed the function of their houses into homestays to tourists. To develop Homestay accommodation that has excellent service standards, it is not easy for the people in the Harapan Islands considering that the number of human resources who have competence in this field is still limited. For the community, there must be a change in attitude in maintaining the status of Homestay, such as preserving the village environment, maintaining cleanliness, maintaining cultural and spiritual sustainability, fostering creativity and innovation to grow and manage the resources owned, and most importantly, to increase knowledge and understanding related to tourism. This activity uses the Asset Based Community Development method, which is training for Pokdarwis in the form of a socialization program for Homestay business standards which aims to provide understanding to Homestay owners on Harapan Island.  The results of this training are expected to improve the competence and capabilities of human resources to welcome tourists through the "Visit Thousand Islands 2023"

Abstract

Culinary and tourism are closely related. Culinary not only fulfills tourists' fundamental needs, but it also shapes the image of a tourism destination and provides tourists with an authentic and memorable experience. We carried out this Community Service (PKM) activity at Batu Kumbung Tourism Village, Lingsar District, West Lombok, NTB, with a primary focus on developing a culinary menu using local food ingredients. The local community chose catfish—especially the dumbo variety (Clarias spp.)—the village's leading commodity, as the main theme for the culinary specialties, aiming to enhance Batu Kumbung's image and competitiveness as a tourist village. PKM activities were carried out with a participatory approach through socialization, discussion, observation, interview, training, and practice methods. The community was actively involved in every participatory stage, from information gathering to consultation to empowerment. This way, the community can develop the knowledge and skills to create a specialty menu and apply good food processing techniques. The final product produced from this community service activity is a menu named “Dulang Lele Batu Kumbung," consisting of three main dishes made from catfish, two side dishes, and one drink.

Abstract

Cilember Tourism Village is a tourist destination in the administrative area of Cilember Village, Cisarua District, Bogor Regency. Cilember Tourism Village was initiated in early 2015 by the Cilember Village community tourism awareness group. In its development, Cilember Tourism Village still experiences various obstacles in realizing a sustainable tourism village, including related to the lack of understanding of tourism village managers regarding village governance. This community service is carried out with the aim of providing an understanding of tourism village governance. The target of this community service is the manager of the Cilember Tourism Village. The method of implementing community service used is by using lectures, discussions and practices. The results of community service were obtained, that the participants of the activity easily understood the training material provided. Participants in the activity also gave assessments to community service implementers who were able to accommodate questions and discussions carried out. The suggestion from this activity is the need for additional time for activities and imitation study activities to villages that have developed and implemented good governance. The suggestion for the next training activity is to increase the capacity of homestay governance in tourist villages.
