Abstract

The background of this research is the lack of optimal teacher professional competence in improving the academic achievement of students at SMA Negeri 1 Banjar. The aims of this study were to: 1) Know the influence of the professional competence of teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Banjar on the academic achievement of students. 2) To determine the effect of learning facilities at SMA Negeri 1 Banjar on the academic achievement of students. 3) To determine the effect of teacher professional competence and learning facilities on the academic achievement of students of SMA Negeri 1 Banjar. The research method used is descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The data collection technique was carried out by distributing questionnaires with a total of 69 respondents. Statistical data processing using SPSS 21.0. The results of the study show that 1) Professional Competency of Teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Banjar in general is always on the answer with quite high criteria. However, there are indicators that need to be improved, namely the selection of learning models and methods, as well as creating learning media that can attract students' attention to improve their learning at school. The results of the hypothesis test show that the teacher's professional competence has an effect of 40.7% on students' academic achievement while 59.3% is affected by other factors. 2) The learning facilities in SMA Negeri 1 Banjar are generally in the frequent answers with quite high criteria. There are several indicators that must be improved, including the use of student worksheets in learning activities and the use of ICT-based learning media. The results of the hypothesis test show that learning media have an effect of 44% on students' academic achievement while 56% is influenced by other factors. 3) The academic achievements of students at SMA Negeri 1 Banjar are generally in the frequent answers with quite high criteria. However, there are indicators that need to be improved, namely evaluating learning outcomes, creating ideas, seeking information, and the ability to perform skills in learning. The test results on the relationship between teacher professional competence and learning facilities and students' academic achievement are included in the strong correlation category, then there is a positive influence of teacher professional competence and learning facilities on students' academic achievement.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explore the personal character of students, to be aware of the wrong and deviant behavior that students have done at school through personal social counseling activities with a relational approach. The research method used is literature review sourced from journals/articles, books related to social personal counseling of students at school. The results of the study concluded that the application of personal social counseling with a relational approach model made students more comfortable and calm when the counselor explored their experiences. Likewise, in this approach model a counselor must be able to communicate with a student in terms of respecting a student's personal self, understand the student's personal world through empathy, be aware of and share experiences with students at school about what they have experienced. natural counselor openly, away from the attitude of something that is not true (artificial).

Abstract

This research focuses on Cultural shock faced by the main character in James L. Brook's movie Spanglish. The aims of this undergraduate thesis are to identify what stages of cultural shock faced by main characters in the movie and analyze how is the character performing their problem-solving process. In collecting the data the student used note-taking and documentation method and techniques. The data was obtained by watching the movie and taking notes on each scene. Following the data analysis stating Oberg's theory about the stages of Culture Shock and for Problem-solving process used Qin's theory. This research uses qualitative method, and presenting the data formally and informally. The result from the analysis is that Cristina and Flor experienced all of the stages of Cultural shock, which are honeymoon, crisis, adjustment, and adaptation stages. In the crisis stage, many problems and difficulties have been found. The process of problem-solving pursues a term problem and its analysis result. Furthermore, it pursues the problematic and circumstances that accompany the particular problem and appear during its solving.

Abstract

In the learning activities of SMP Negeri 11 Medan students, there are several problems such as students are less enthusiastic about following the learning process, so that learning activities become unenthusiastic. To overcome this problem, it is necessary to have a learning model that is able to arouse students' enthusiasm for learning. One of the solutions used in this study is the application of the discovery learning model using a scientific approach, this aims to improve student learning activities. This type of research is classroom action research (PTK). The study was conducted in two cycles. The results of this study show that the application of the discovey model can improve student learning activities. The increase can be seen from the results of student learning activities increased from 71.61% in cycle I to 81.37% in cycle II, which means an increase of 9.76%. From the data from the study, it is known that student learning activities in the cognitive and affective aspects of students show a very significant increase from cycle I to cycle II, so the application of learning using the discovery learning model is successful in increasing student enthusiasm for learning.

Abstract

The background of the research problem is that students' ability to write drama scripts is not optimal. One of the factors is the media used by the teacher is not appropriate and is still traditional. To overcome this, it is done by using audio-visual media. The purpose of this study was to improve students' skills in writing drama texts by paying attention to the building blocks of drama performances. The method used in this study was descriptive method, with a classroom action research design. The data collection techniques were library research, observation, and learning. , and tests. The data that has been collected is then analyzed and the results are described. The results obtained are as follows: (1) The steps for using audio-visual media to improve the ability to write drama scripts for class XI DPIB students of SMK N 1 Percut Sei Tuan are divided into three stages of activity, namely preliminary activities, core activities and final activities. (2). There was an increase in students' ability to write drama scripts after using audio-visual media in class XI DPIB students of SMK N 1 Percut Sei Tuan. . Class action research (CAR) was conducted in two cycles, namely cycle 1 and cycle 2. Each cycle experienced an increase in student learning outcomes. At the pre-cycle stage, the percentage of students who achieved learning mastery was 46.43%. Then, in cycle 1, this figure increased to 64.28%. After going through cycle 2, the percentage of students who achieved learning mastery increased again to 82.14%. These results indicate an increase in students' writing skills in writing drama scripts using audio-visual media. That is, the value of student learning outcomes in writing drama scripts from cycle I to cycle II experienced a significant increase.

Abstract

This research was conducted at the Jambi Natura Addiction Center Rehabilitation Foundation. This research is motivated by the problem of narcotics abuse at the Natura Addiction Center Rehabilitation Foundation. This prompted the writer to research. This research aims to add to the body of knowledge in the field of rehabilitation counseling for narcotics abusers. To increase the knowledge of the writer both theoretically and practically in field research. can be useful for other researchers who are interested in conducting the same research but taking from different aspects. The research approach that the authors use is descriptive qualitative. Data collection was carried out by observation, interview and documentation techniques. Determination of research subjects using purposive sampling technique. Data analysis techniques were carried out by data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions as well as verification of the reliability of research results obtained by triangulation techniques to meet the criteria of credibility, transferability, dependability and objectivity.The results of this study indicate the implementation of the counseling guidance program at the Natura Addiction Center Jambi Rehabilitation Foundation. Drug victims include learning ethics and manners, communication and relationships, group dynamics, motivational guidance and entrepreneurship guidance. The techniques are Integrated Counseling (KT), Individual Counseling (KI), Group Guidance (BKL), Family Counseling (KK). Enthusiastic in participating in guidance counseling, counselors who are experienced and master material for adequate facilities and infrastructure and have been equipped with experienced nurses and counselors. Inhibiting Factors: Human Resources are still lacking, there are clients who still feel inferior to themselves, Lack of available personnel who are capable of lobbying and making approaches to drug addicts or abusers or their families.

Abstract

The decline in the problem of adab in the world of education has an impact on the destruction of civilization. Therefore it is very important to educate the etiquette of a teacher and the etiquette of a student of knowledge. Adab education requires guidelines that are in accordance with the Al-Quran, As-Sunnah, and the opinions of the scholars as the essence in providing solutions to every problem. In this regard, in the book At-Tibyan Fi Adabi Hamalatil Quran, Imam Abu Zakaria Yahya bin Syaraf An-Nawawi summarizes adab education. The method of this research is library research (library research), which is a research that utilizes library sources to obtain data using a concept study approach/figure thinking. The results and conclusions of this study are that there are 15 etiquette etiquette for teachers and 20 etiquette education for students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of using Picsart Media on the ability to write advertisement text for class VIII MTs Nurul Huda Bangai. This type of research is quantitative research using an exsperimental model. The sample is this study were class VIII student of MTs Nurul Huda Bangai totaling 35 people. The data in this study werw the scores of writing skills of advertising text before using Picsart Media and the scores of writing skills after using Picsart Media for class VIII MTs Nurul Huda Bangai. The results of this study can be concluded that the results of the t-tes have the effect of using Picsart Media on the abality to write advertisement text in class VIII MTs Nurul Huda Bangai because tcount > t table (5,825 > 1,689)

Abstract

The teacher's personality competence is closely related to the personality development of students. Teachers with strong personalities will have an impact on students both in the perspective of a good teacher's image and in direct influence in the form of the teacher's efforts to carry out ideal learning. What is interesting is the extent to which the teacher's personality competence has an impact on the development of student independence. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The subjects in this study were teachers, students and school principals of SMPN 5 Malangbong, Garut Regency. To obtain data used techniques of observation, interviews, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed through a sequence of data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions, and triangulation. The results showed that the majority of SMPN 5 Malangbong teachers in Garut district already had teacher personality competencies and implemented them in learning activities. The personality of the teacher succeeded in developing the independence of students, especially self-confidence, responsibility and initiative. There were several obstacles found in this study, namely students did not want to open up, did not have the desire to change, and could not imitate what the teacher did. This condition requires further efforts to provide opportunities for students to develop according to their age. It was also found that several teachers did not have complete teacher personality competencies so that they were suspected of influencing the slow adaptability of students in learning. Other obstacles are teacher communication with parents that is not intense, the distance where students live far from the school, parents' human resources, and economic factors.

Abstract

Mastery of vocabulary in the field of hospitality is needed by students as initial capital for them to support them in carrying out speaking practices. The research problem focused on vocabulary mastery of tourism vocational school students in Tegal in front office practice (FO). The research aimed to analyze students’ FO vocabulary mastery and students' strategies to improve FO vocabulary mastery. The research method used descriptive quantitative. The subject in this research were students majoring in hospitality at tourism vocational schools in Tegal. The results showed that 35,5% of respondents scored above 70, 30,3% scored 60-69 and 34,2% of respondents scored below 60, with an overall average score of 62,6. Moreover, Regular Reading, Asking Teacher, Group Discussion, Synonym/Antonym, Using Audio-visual Media, Memorization, and Translation of Literary Passages are ways that many respondents agree on to improve English vocabulary mastery.
