Abstract

Indonesia is a country with extraordinary diversity. "Bhineka Tunggal Ika," the national motto of Indonesia, has been known since ancient times. The diversity of Indonesian culture is a unique wealth not possessed by every nation in the world. This diversity can lead to various perspectives and prejudices among individuals and groups, often arising from the desire to dominate a particular group or ethnicity. In this writing, the researcher conducted a study with the aim of understanding the causes of stereotypes, the reasons for disassociation, and the importance of cultural and civic literacy in preventing ethnic stereotypes. Additionally, the researcher employed a qualitative descriptive method with a qualitative approach, and the data collection technique used in this study was literature review. The results of this research revealed a connection between cultural and civic literacy and ethnic stereotypes, underscoring the importance of such literacy to prevent unfounded and directed stereotypes, thus avoiding national disassociation.

Abstract

In today's world, where the latest information technology and technology have facilitated the entry of foreign cultures, the decline of cultural values and national character is an unavoidable problem. The development of information technology and the internet has brought major changes in various fields of human life, including entertainment and recreation. One of the impacts that is very interesting to discuss is the loss of traditional games. Therefore, this research explains that there are student personality values that can be constructed through traditional games. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. The development of increasingly sophisticated technology is an important means in achieving more effective and efficient educational goals. Therefore, it is necessary for educators to develop skills in utilizing technology and learning media.

Abstract

A refractometer is a tool used to measure the refractive index of fluids. However, there are several issues, including the considerable cost involved and the fact that not all school laboratories have this tool. Therefore, we conducted a study to compare the accuracy of refractive index values using a hollow prism and a plan parallel prism. Among the various methods available today, refraction is a relatively simple and cost-effective method for determining the refractive index of fluids. In measuring the refractive index of fluids, the use of containers or vessels is essential. Following a review of existing studies, two commonly used types of vessels were identified: the cube-shaped vessel (plan parallel) and the hollow prism. This research aims to compare the refractive index results obtained using a hollow prism and a plan parallel prism, using two samples—namely, distilled water (aquades) and alcohol—which have predetermined values in the refractive index table. The results indicate that the refractive index value for aquades using a plan parallel prism is 0.97, while with a hollow prism, it is 1.33, where the true refractive index value is 1.33. For alcohol, the results using a plan parallel prism are 0.91, and with a hollow prism, it is 1.35, where the true refractive index value is 1.36. The conclusion drawn is that using a hollow prism yields refractive index values for both aquades and alcohol that closely approximate the true refractive index, compared to the use of a plan parallel prism.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the learning methods used by educators in teaching children with special needs who are blind at SLB Negeri 1 Kulon Progo. Blindness itself is a condition where a person has limited vision, therefore to obtain information they use the senses of hearing and touch. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method, in which the researcher collects information or sources using books, journals and other scientific works related to the topic raised. Then the researchers collected data by conducting interviews and direct observations on Monday 23 October 2023 by one of the teachers of blind children at SLB Negeri 1 Kulon Progo so that the data needed was more valid. The results of the discussion in this research are that there are various learning methods used by children with special needs who are blind at SLB Negeri 1 Kulon Progo, including the following; lecture, audio, practical and tactile (touch) methods. However, in implementing this learning method there are still various obstacles felt by the teachers at SLB Negeri 1 Kulon Progo.

Abstract

This article explores the close relationship between philosophy and science as ethical guides in the development and application of technology. Philosophy provides a framework of values of Human Rights (HAM), justice, freedom and responsibility that are important to ensure technology is used in a beneficial and safe manner for humans and the environment. This research is qualitative research in the nature of a literature study or literature review. The literature review method is a method carried out by collecting and reading existing sources of information. The findings of this article include the urgency of considering the social, cultural and sustainability impacts of technology, as well as promoting sustainable and responsible innovation. Philosophy as an ethical guide is shown to be the key to bridging the complexity of the relationship between technology and humans.

Abstract

Abstract

Regional languages are an important part of the cultural heritage of a region or country. This study aims to find out how students in elementary school communicate with each other using regional languages. The method used is literature study. The literature study method is a series of activities related to the method of collecting library data, reading and recording, and managing writing materials. There are several impacts of lack of understanding of regional languages, namely: difficulty in understanding learning material, difficulty in communicating. So the way to do this is to include regional languages as subjects in elementary schools and use regional languages as the language of instruction in learning. This is very important to improve students' language and communication skills.

Abstract

Indonesia has a diversity of tribes, cultures, languages and beliefs. As a country involved in globalization and progress, Indonesia is impacted by many international partnerships both positively and negatively. As a result, each ethnic group has brought diversity to Indonesia, in line with this there is a need for cultural literacy to interpret the diversity that occurs. This research aims to describe local wisdom in learning through cultural literacy. Local culture from an early age becomes a guide for children's educational development. Education based on local culture must be able to run in harmony with current educational trends, culture is included in the learning process as a tool for teaching cultural values. Teachers are encouraged to use creativity in creating resources that combine local wisdom with materials for elementary school students. Content derived from students' local knowledge can provide context and significance to teaching. Therefore, to implement character education based on local wisdom requires continuous effort and dedication. A learning approach that utilizes the environment as a goal, source and learning instrument is known as "environment-based learning". This can be applied to overcome environmental problems and foster appreciation for nature. Because by getting used to it continuously and continuously, a child will appear.
