Abstract

Laboratory experiments in schools often face challenges, including inadequate teacher training, limited equipment and materials, and dense teaching content. This research proposes an alternative approach by using readily available materials in the school environment. In the diffraction experiment, banana leaf stems were replaced by coconut fiber and a strand of hair as experimental media. Fraunhofer diffraction, the bending of waves behind a narrow slit, became the focus of this experiment. The primary objectives were to understand the process of diffraction grating, measure the differences in spreading between a strand of hair and coconut fiber, and analyze the variables involved. The experimental data showed that a strand of hair had the farthest distance to the central bright spot with an average of 1.23 meters. While successfully creating a diffraction grating pattern using makeshift tools and materials, the difficulty in measuring the distance between bright spots highlighted a critical note for future improvements. In conclusion, this experiment provides new insights into light diffraction using resources available in the school environment. However, further research expansion and improved measurement accuracy should be the focus to support the development of more effective laboratory methods in overcoming facility limitations in the school environment.

Abstract

Cheating culture among school students has long been a disturbing phenomenon threatening academic integrity. This research aims to analyze the factors influencing the prevalence of the cheating culture in schools and its impact on the learning process and academic ethics. Through a comprehensive literature review, this study identifies academic pressure, lack of interest in the material, and insufficient emphasis on academic integrity as key factors causing cheating. The impacts include weakened understanding of the material, reduced intrinsic motivation, and the risk of developing unethical attitudes. The research recommends a holistic approach involving curriculum changes, improved engaging teaching methods, and active roles for teachers, parents, and students in creating a supportive and ethical learning environment. Visual data in the form of graphs and diagrams provide a clear overview of the prevalence and patterns of cheating behavior in elementary schools, serving as a foundation for the development of effective prevention and intervention strategies. Thus, this research is expected to make a significant contribution to understanding and addressing the cheating culture to create a fair and dignified educational environment.

Abstract

Mastery of cultural and civic literacy is important in the 21st era. Indonesia has a diversity of tribes, languages, customs, beliefs and social layers. Currently, changing times continue to take place along with the progress of globalization which requires all aspects of life to adapt. This globalization easily spreads to every country, including Indonesia. The impact is seen in various things that are influenced by or originate from this global progress. Today's life requires every individual to change the way they view other people. Views that are not in line with the flow of global progress can lead individuals to misguidance and even alienation at home. From here, various problems arise, especially the decline in love for the homeland. This research aims to find ways to address the importance of cultural and civic literacy in strengthening feelings of love for the homeland. The research method used is a literature study with a qualitative approach. The data used comes from primary and secondary sources, such as books, e-books, e-journals and articles. The results of the research show that many Indonesian people still prefer and like foreign films, for example from South Korea, Japan, China and Thailand. This reduces their love for their homeland because they tend to be reluctant to choose films that are their own cultural heritage.

Abstract

Easy access to information allows the entry of foreign cultures which sometimes do not match local cultural values. Children become more aware of foreign cultures because a lot of information is spread from their cell phones. The world is increasingly globalizing, but knowing and understanding local culture is an important thing in inheriting cultural values and local wisdom. In the midst of the pressure of the influx of foreign cultures that is difficult to stop, it is a challenge for parents to ensure that their children understand their nation's culture. For this reason, the family plays an important role for children in facing the openness of the Indonesian nation in the era of globalization through cultural literacy. The aim of this research is to find out the role of the family in cultural literacy and citizenship. The method used in this research is literature study.

Abstract

People in the current era of globalization tend to prefer new cultures which are considered more practical compared to local culture. This of course has an impact on the fading of local culture, as a result of the lack of future generations who have an interest in learning and preserving it. This research specifically aims to describe the implementation of the traditional Songah musical instrument, a traditional musical instrument typical of the Sumedang region, West Java in the midst of globalization. The research method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method. The research was carried out in an elementary school in one of the districts in West Java Province with data collection techniques used, namely observation, interviews and documentation. The research subjects are students, teachers and pupils who are important components in the research. The results obtained are that this implementation has quite an impact on students, apart from being enthusiastic about participating in activities, it can also foster a sense of nationalism and love for the country. Therefore, Songah musical instruments can be applied in implementing local wisdom-based learning, in order to create the next generation as heirs to local culture which is starting to be eroded by the flow of globalization.
