Abstract

The approach to children's education is an important foundation in building a generation with character, adaptive, and intelligent. Ibn Sina and Jean Piaget offer two significant theories, with different but complementary approaches. Ibn Sina emphasizes holistic education that includes intellectual, emotional, physical, and spiritual dimensions, while Jean Piaget focuses on cognitive development through structured stages. This study aims to analyze and compare the theoretical approaches to children's education from these two figures, especially in the context of cognitive and holistic approaches. The research method used is a literature study by analyzing relevant articles, books, and research reports published in the last five years. The results of the study show that Piaget's theory is very relevant to understand children's intellectual development through systematic stages, while Ibn Sina's approach complements by integrating moral and spiritual values. The combination of these two theories offers the potential to create a more comprehensive and adaptive education system, in accordance with the needs of modern education. Education based on Ibn Sina's holistic values and Piaget's cognitive structure can be used to build a balanced curriculum, improve intellectual abilities while shaping students' character.

Abstract

Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) are fundamental mathematical tools for modeling physical and engineering phenomena such as fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and electromagnetism. Due to their structural complexity and boundary conditions, analytical solutions to PDEs are often infeasible, making numerical approaches essential. This study aims to develop efficient, stable, and adaptive numerical algorithms to solve PDEs in the context of modern mathematical simulations. Using a systematic literature review method based on the PRISMA protocol, this research analyzes ten recent scientific articles from reputable international journals. Data were analyzed through content and thematic analysis to identify patterns and trends in numerical algorithm development. The findings indicate that recent innovations include polynomial matrix collocation methods, Haar wavelets, numerical neural networks, mesh-free methods, and hybrid approaches such as Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs). Furthermore, the integration of techniques such as adaptive mesh refinement (AMR), domain decomposition methods, and GPU acceleration shows strong potential in improving computational efficiency and numerical stability. This study concludes that the advancement of sophisticated numerical algorithms is a critical element in enabling high-precision simulations across various applied fields such as engineering, physics, and computer science. These findings provide theoretical contributions in the expansion of numerical theory and practical value in supporting the design of complex systems in the digital era.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (IRE) plays a strategic role in shaping students' character. However, the reality shows a low level of student engagement in IRE learning, often caused by conventional teaching methods and less relevant learning materials. This study aims to analyze the efforts of IRE teachers at Sekolah Dasar Negeri (Public Elementary School) 004 Cemaga Selatan in developing teaching materials to enhance student engagement. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation techniques used to ensure data validity. The results of the study reveal that the teacher implemented three main strategies: integration of local and contextual values, utilization of digital and interactive learning media, and the application of scientific and project-based approaches. These strategies have proven effective in increasing students’ active participation in discussions, group assignments, and hands-on activities. Learning became more enjoyable, relevant, and meaningful. The findings affirm that innovation in the development of teaching materials—adapted to students' needs and environments—can significantly improve both student engagement and the quality of IRE instruction. The study recommends strengthening support for teachers in developing contextual, creative, and digitally-based learning methods.

Abstract

The Fourth Industrial Revolution has had a profound impact on education, particularly in shaping students’ character. Holistic Islamic education emerges as an integrative approach that unites intellectual, spiritual, emotional, and social aspects to address both moral challenges and the demand for 21st-century competencies. This study aims to formulate a holistic Islamic education model relevant to character building for the younger generation in the digital era. This research employs a qualitative method with a literature review design, applying content analysis. Data were collected from scholarly articles, conference proceedings, books, and official documents, and then analyzed through data reduction, thematic categorization, and synthesis of findings. Source triangulation was applied to ensure validity. The findings reveal that holistic Islamic education effectively integrates religious values with 21st-century skills, such as critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration. The model emphasizes four main dimensions: spirituality (faith and morality), intellectual (knowledge and technology mastery), socio-emotional (empathy and responsibility), and digital-ethics (Islamic-based digital literacy). Practices in Islamic schools and pesantren in Indonesia and Malaysia demonstrate the effectiveness of this model in shaping students who are morally grounded, adaptive, and competitive. Thus, this study highlights the urgency of holistic Islamic education in addressing the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The proposed model offers an alternative framework for preparing a globally competitive Muslim generation while preserving their religious identity.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of Online Collaborative Learning (OCL) on EFL students’ procedural writing skills through a qualitative literature review. Given the increasing use of digital tools in education, especially in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, this research investigates how OCL fosters collaboration, peer feedback, and critical thinking, all of which contribute to the development of students’ writing abilities. A comprehensive review of 10 relevant studies reveals that OCL significantly enhances students’ procedural writing by promoting interaction among peers, providing real-time feedback, and offering flexible learning environments. The literature suggests that peer feedback, facilitated through both synchronous and asynchronous online platforms, plays a vital role in improving the clarity, structure, and precision of procedural texts. However, challenges related to unequal participation in asynchronous settings are noted, highlighting the need for careful management of collaborative tasks. The findings align with Vygotsky’s sociocultural theory, which emphasizes the importance of social interaction in cognitive development. This review contributes to a deeper understanding of the potential benefits and limitations of OCL in improving writing skills, particularly in the procedural writing genre. The study concludes with recommendations for future research, including exploring the long-term impact of OCL on writing skills and investigating strategies to improve student engagement in collaborative environments.
