Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of activities and learning outcomes of studentby usingproblem based learning (PBL) model at topic of ecosystem in the class X-1 SMA Negeri 1 Palipi Samosir districtin Academic Year 2015/2016. This research is a classroom action research. The subject of this study was gradex-1 in the class SMA Negeri 1 Palipi Samosir the student numbers 30 people. The techniques of data analysisare by computing the percentage of student learning outcomes and learning completeness. This average valueof the pretest was 47,74. After applying outdoor study with problem based learning (PBL) model, the averagevalue of posttest I in cycle I was 70.87 and the posttest II in cycle was 82.63. This indicated there was animprovement in learning outcomes of the posttest I and posttest II for about 12. The learning completenesswhich as gained in cycle I was 16 student (53.3 %) of all the student and in cycle II it was 26 students (86.7%), sothe learning completeness was reached. For the data indicator of achievement percentage is know that in thefirst cycle of Leraning objectivesset out in the second indicator has not been achieved. While the second cycleindicator has been reached. For student learning activity data that the level of student learning activities hasindreased from 47.67% (first cycle I) to 87% (cycle).Key words: learning outcomes, activities, problem based learning models and cycle.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar siswa yang diajar menggunakanmodel pembelajaran berbasis masalah dengan model pembelajaran Langsung pada materi PencemaranLingkungan di Kelas X MAN 1 Medan. Populasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XJurusan IPA MAN 1 Medan yang terdiri dari 420 Siswa. Sampel kelas dalam penelitian ini ditentukan denganteknik Cluster random sampling. Sampel kelas terdiri atas kelas yang diberi pembelajaran denganmenggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan kelas yang diberi pembelajaran denganmenggunakan model pembelajaran Langsung. Teknik pengumpulan data hasil belajar menggunakan metodetes. Teknik analisis data untuk pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji t-dua pihak. Berdasarkanhasil uji persyaratan data, diketahui bahwa data hasil belajar siswa pada kelas Model pembelajaran berbasismasalah dan kelas Model pembelajaran Langsung dinyatakan berdistribusi normal dan memiliki varians yangseragam. Sementara berdasarkan hasil perolehan hasil belajar siswa terlihat adanya perbedaan yang signifikandimana rata-rata hasil belajar siswa yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah sebesar72,50 sedangkan rata-rata hasil belajar siswa yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran Langsung sebesar60,63. Adapun perbedaan hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah denganmodel pembelajaran langsung sebesar 16,37 %. Adanya perbedaan hasil belajar siswa pada kedua kelaspenelitian tersebut dibuktikan melalui uji hipotesis dengan menggunakan uji-t dengan taraf kepercayaan (α =0,05), dimana thitung < ttabel yaitu 4,479 < 1,666, yang berarti Ha diterima dan menolak Ho yang berarti Adaperbedaan hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dengan modelpembelajaran Langsung pada materi Pencemaran Lingkungan di kelas X MAN 1 Medan T.P 2015/2016.Kata kunci: Hasil Belajar, Model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah, Model Pembelajaran Langsung

Abstract

This research is a development research. The aim of the study was to develop Animal Ecology learning devices based on Project-Based Learning and local Lake Toba to train mastery of concepts, critical thinking, problem solving, and attitudes to students of Biology Education that are valid, practical and effective. The development research used was using the Thiagarajan 4D model. The results showed that in the define stage a mapping of the basic competencies of Animal Ecology was produced and the material of local potential Lake Toba Region and learning objectives were adjusted to the results of the stages defined. The design phase shows the format of the learning device developed. The develope stage shows the results of validation by the validator stating that project-based Animal Ecology learning tools and local potential are declared valid and the results of the student response questionnaire on positive learning devices. The dessiminate stage shows the learning device that was developed effectively. Project-based Animal Ecology learning tools and the resulting local potential of Lake Toba have met the criteria of valid, practical and effective.Keywords. Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar kognitif siswa yang diajarmenggunakan model pembelajaran Make a Match dengan Word Square pada materi Sistem ReproduksiManusia di kelas XI IPA MAN 2 Model Medan T.A.2016/2017. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu(quasi experiment) dengan populasi penelitian seluruh kelas XI IPA MAN 2 Model Medan terdiri dari 10 kelasdengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 422 orang. Sampel penelitian ini dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik PurposiveSampling. Sampel terdiri dari tiga kelas yaitu kelas XI-IPA 4 yang berjumlah 43 orang sebagai kelas Make aMatch, kelas XI-IPA 5 yang berjumlah 41 orang sebagai kelas Word Square, dan kelas XI-IPA 1 yang berjumlah41 orang sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes hasil belajar siswa berbentuk pilihan bergandayang berjumlah 40 soal yang sudah divalidasi terlebih dahulu. Untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar siswadigunakan uji-t. Berdasarkan uji persyaratan data diketahui bahwa data hasil penelitian berdistribusi normaldan ketiga kelas memiliki kesamaan varians (homogen). Dari analisis data diketahui bahwa nilai rata-rata siswayang diajar dengan Make a Match adalah 92,372, yang diajar dengan Word Square adalah 91,22, dan yangdiajar dengan Kontrol adalah 92. Ada perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap hasil belajar siswa, ini dibuktikanmelalui uji-t pada taraf signifikan α = 0,05 dan dk 82 diperoleh thitung > ttabel (2,44 > 1,98) maka penelitian inimenolak H0 dan menerima Ha. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil belajarsiswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Make a Match dengan Word Square padamateri Sistem Reproduksi Manusia di kelas XI IPA MAN 2 Model Medan T.A.2016/2017.Kata Kunci: Make A Match, Word Square, Hasil Belajar.

Abstract

This research was aimed to find out the influence of Socratic Circles method with imagemedia and critical thinking skills and Interaction between lerning method and critical thinking skills????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????skills of students in class XI MIA SMA Negeri 1 Sunggal on thematerial of human respiration system. This research is a quasi experimental research and conductedin class XI MIA SMA Negeri 1 Sunggal, using factorial design 2 x 2 and a sample of 72 students whotake it based on random sampling. Inferential statistic test used two-way ANAVA. Test datarequirement is normality test with Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and homogeneity test of variance with???????????????????????????????? . According X ± SE variance analysis result (ANAVA) show thats: (1) The result of criticalthinking skills of students taught by Socratic Circles method with image media 80±1.26 higher thanthe result of critical thinking skills taught by discussion method 65±1.59 in SMA Negeri 1 Sunggal;(2) The result of students with high critical thinking skills 78.78±1.22 higher than the result ofstudents with low critical thinking skills 65.86±1.90; and (3) There is interaction between lerningmethod and critical thinking skills to the students critical thinking skills. The interaction betweenlerning method and critical thinking skills have a significant effect on students critical thinking skills(Fhitung=3.320; P=0.073).Key words: Socratic Circles method, image media, critical thinking skills

Abstract

The study was aimed to investigate the effect of higher order thinking questionsin biology practical worksheets to students learning achievement on ecosystem topic. The type of the research was quasi experiment and pre-test and post-test were applied. The population of the research is grade X of SMA Negeri 2 Binjai academic year 2015/2016. The samples consist of two groups and were selected randomly, grade X PMS 2 as control group (n=36 students) and X PMS 4 as experiment group (n=36 students). Learning method in both groups was practical. For experimental group, the learning process used the revised-worksheets and the control group used the student’s handbook. Multiple choice questions were the instrument to collect the cognitive data and questionnaires were used to assess the psychomotor aspect of the student achievement. Hypothesis was tested by t-test. The post-test result showed that, the average score in experimental group (85.72) was higher than control group (78.61). tcount (5.64) > ttable (1.994) (with α=0.05 and df=70). The psychomotor assessment revealed that the score of experimental group (90.02) was higher than control group (78.5). tcount (7.32) > ttable (1.994) (with α=0.05 and df=70). Based on the data from research result used tcount> ttable then H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. It means that there is a significant effect of providing higher order thinking questionsin biology practical worksheets to students learning achievement on ecosystem topic ofgrade X SMA Negeri 2 Binjai academic year 2015/2016.Keywords: Practical, Revised-worksheet, Learning Achievement

Abstract

Biology is a science that has significant meaning for the world of education in schools. Biology can also be called a method of finding out about nature systematically, so that biology is not only a theoretical mastery of a collection of knowledge in the form of facts, concepts, or principles but also a process of finding facts with an actual process through a practicum in the Science Laboratory. The research objective was to determine the management of the Biology laboratory at SMA Negeri 1 Silangkitang. This study uses a descriptive method using a qualitative approach. The data analysis technique was carried out in a descriptive qualitative manner using the Miles and Huberman model. The results showed that the utilization of the science laboratory at SMA Negeri 1 Silangkitang was based on (1) completeness (80%); (2) Storage of tools and materials (75%); (3) Laboratory Maintenance (70%); (4) Provision of laboratories (75%; (5) Laboratory cleanliness (85%). Laboratory utilization at SMA Negeri 1 Silangkitang has been carried out well. Biology teachers carry out practicum in accordance with biology learning materials. Biology teachers attend laboratory training held in universities to develop competence in biology practicum.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility of herbarium media used in the learning process on Pterydophyta material. This research is a mining study that refers to Dick and Carey. The sample used is 50 students taken by random sampling. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively quantitatively. Herbarium media is validated by media experts with 89.07% percentage with very reasonable criteria and validation by material experts with 86.46% value with media criteria produced also very feasible. After the improvement in accordance with the validator's suggestion and then continued product trial to students with a percentage value of 85.27% indicating that the herbarium media product produced is very good.Keywords: learning media, herbarium, Pterydophyta

Abstract

The researchers aimed to determine the effect of the use of cooperative learning model Course ReviewHoray the learning outcomes of students of class VII SMP. 1 Pulaurakyat learning year 2015/2016. The studypopulation numbered 245 students. Of the 245 students, defined sample of 35 students were taken randomly(random sampling). The method used in this research is the experimental method. The instrument used to collectdata is a multiple choice test. Hypothesis testing is done by using the t test. Data obtained showed that the abilityof student learning outcomes before using cooperative learning model Course Review Horay fall into the categorywith a value less than the average (mean) were obtained by the students is 60.71, while the ability of studentlearning outcomes after using cooperative learning model type course review horay fall into both categories withthe average value (mean) were obtained by the students was 77.42. Thus rejected and accepted, which means thatthere is the influence of cooperative learning model Course Riview horay on learning outcomes of students of classVII SMP. 1 Pulaurakyat learning year 2015/2016. This suggests that the results of the science lesson after usingcooperative learning model Course Riview horay better than learning outcomes before the model pembelajarncooperative Course Riview horay, and the learning process after using cooperative learning model Course Riviewhoray berefektif positively to student learning outcomes in learning science.Keywords: Effectiveness, Course Riview Horay

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk  mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar dan keterampilan proses sains siswa melalui penggunaan LKPD berbasis inkuiri pada materi struktur dan fungsi jaringan tumbuhan di  MAN 2 Model Medan. Jenis penelitian ini ada Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Desain penelitian menggunakan model Kemmis dan MC.Taggart yang terdiri dari empat komponen yaitu: “perencanaan, implementasi/pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi/pengamatan dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPA 2 MAN 2 Model Medan Tahun Pembelajaran 2018/2019. Objek  penelitian ini berupa hasil belajar siswa dalam ranah kognitif dan keterampilan proses sains pada materi Struktur dan Fungsi Jaringan Tumbuhan dengan menerapkan LKPD berbasis inkuiri. Hasil penelitian ini adalah penggunaan LKPD berbasis inkuiri dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar Biologi siswa di kelas XI IPA2 MAN 2 Model Medan T.P 2018/2019. Siswa yang sudah mencapai KKM pada siklus I  38,10% siswa dengan nilai rata-rata 75,5. Siswa yang sudah mencapai KKM pada siklus II  85,71% , dengan nilai rata-rata 93,8. Penggunaan LKPD berbasis inkuri dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa (mengamati, bertanya, memprediksi, mengkomunikasi dan menyimpulkan) pada kegiatan pembelajaran Biologi   di kelas XI IPA2 MAN 2 Model Medan. Kata kunci: Hasil belajar, keterampilan proses sains,  LKPD, inkuiri
