Abstract

This research examines the transformation of worship practices in the digital era, especially in the context of Khatmil Qur'an Online among Muslimat NU Lampung Timur. By applying the concept of Living Qur'an Studies, this research reveals how online Qur'anic Khatmil meetings affect religious experience and social transformation in society. The results highlight that Khatmil Qur'an is not only a religious ritual but also an integral part of religious education, student motivation, and a driver of social integration in rural communities. Using Talal Asad's discursive approach, the analysis shows significant differences between online and offline Khatmil Qur'an practices, with the impact of technology and digital spaces accelerating changes in religious discursive traditions. The research provides a holistic insight into this phenomenon through qualitative research methods involving in-depth interviews and participatory observation studies. The practice of Khatmil Qur'an Online is not just a ritual but also part of an evolving process of religious meaning construction in a non-Arabic society. The success of this practice in embracing technology as a means of worship shows that digital religion is not simply the replacement of traditional ways but rather the integration of technology as an integral part of the religious way of life in the digital era.

Abstract

An examination of the interpretation of the Koran that elicits contentious topics in the contemporary post-modern era is a fascinating subject to explore. Hermeneutics, which originated in Ancient Greece, has been included in the process of understanding the Koran, as discussed in this article. A discussion ensued concerning the advent of the hermeneutical approach when employed in the interpretation of the Koran. Is it possible to employ a hermeneutical methodology for the interpretation of the Koran? Hermeneutics provides a solution to contemporary interpretive disputes by offering a systematic and comprehensive approach to understanding and interpreting texts. In this inquiry, the author analyzes multiple perspectives on hermeneutics held by interpretive figures in Indonesia. This article highlights the importance of science as a catalyst for change in the contemporary era, emphasizing that it should not be disregarded or dismissed. In its pursuit of scientific advancement, it consistently adapts to contemporary knowledge and practices. However, it also remains grounded in ancient traditions, specifically by referring back to the Quran and Hadith.

Abstract

Living Qur'an research on the practice of dhikr ratib Al-Attas and Al-Haddad in Pondok Pesantren Modern Al-Qur'an Buaran Pekalongan shows the integration of the Qur'an in the daily routine of Muslims. Anthropological qualitative research explores the meaning of dhikr in this tradition. Primary data were obtained through online interviews and observations with Santri and administrators. The results show that the dhikr routine is directed by K.H. Abdul Aziz al-Hafidz and is considered an act of worship, a companion to religious learning, and a means of tranquility. In Talal Asad's theoretical framework, the dhikr tradition is the result of the interaction of religion and culture, becoming the identity of the pesantren. The conclusion shows that dhikr in this pesantren is not only an act of worship but also part of the educational objectives, especially the memorization of the Qur'an. This study provides an in-depth insight into the livelihood of the Qur'an in pesantren communities.

Abstract

In contemporary society, children's neglect in treating their parents properly is increasingly observed. Filial piety, ranking just below the obligation to worship Allah SWT, is essential and extends universally beyond Muslim parents. This research aims to: 1) Analyze the interpretation of Al-Walid according to Ibn Kathīr and M. Quraish Shihab, and 2) Identify differences and similarities in their exegesis of Surah Al-Isra, verses 23-24. Using qualitative library research, primary sources include the tafsir works of Ibn Kathīr and Al-Mishbah by M. Quraish Shihab, along with related journals, articles, and books. Findings reveal: 1) The commandment to worship Allah SWT exclusively, and 2) The obligation for children to show filial piety by avoiding harsh words, even mild expressions like "ah". Children must speak gently and politely, show reverence, pray for their parents, engage in actions that please them, and avoid actions that displease them. This research highlights the importance of maintaining filial piety under all circumstances and practicing iḥsān, treating others better than they treat us. The study compares interpretations by Ibn Kathīr and M. Quraish Shihab, noting a significant distinction in the term hisanan. Ibn Kathīr sees it as a command to do good to one's parents, while Quraish Shihab attributes two meanings: 1) Bestowing favors upon others, and 2) Performing good deeds. The key principle is treating parents with greater kindness and respect than they extend to us.

Abstract

The concept of human rights (HAM) varies widely among different countries due to differences in government forms, cultures, and religions. Searching for 'al-Haqq' or 'al-Huqūq' in Islamic texts does not capture the essence of HAM, as there is no equivalent term in the Quran. Abd Muin Salim suggests identifying HAM-related verses through the particle lām li al-tamlīk, which indicates ownership. The discussion of HAM often includes the debate over legalizing same-sex marriage, with some Muslim scholars supporting it. These scholars argue that homosexual acts are permissible within a marriage or based on mutual consent. This study uses library research to explore human rights issues concerning LGBT according to classical and contemporary scholars' interpretations. A key error made by supporters of LGBT rights is interpreting the word 'syakilah' as 'fitrah' or 'innate.' No classical or contemporary scholars interpret 'syakilah' to mean 'fitrah' or 'innate.'.

Abstract

This study utilizes the social construction theory of Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckmann to analyze the practices of mujahadah and Qur'an recitation in pesantren. This theory emphasizes that social reality is formed through the processes of externalization, objectivation, and internalization. In the context of pesantren, mujahadah and Qur'an recitation are forms of externalization of the students' religious beliefs, serving as a means to express devotion to Allah and seek inner peace. These practices are then objectified into institutionalized collective rituals, becoming an integral part of the pesantren's social and cultural norms recognized by the entire community. Finally, internalization occurs when students adopt this objectified reality into their consciousness and identity, reflected in their inner peace, increased motivation to learn, and continuous commitment to reading and studying the Qur'an. Through this dialectical process, religious practices not only shape individual identity but also reinforce the social structure of the pesantren. This study demonstrates how the practices of mujahadah and Qur'an recitation in pesantren reflect a complex social construction and how religious values are brought to life and strengthened in the daily lives of the students.

Abstract

The scientific value of the Qur'an that discusses the creation of humans with the gift of physical completeness is one of the undeniable values. In this case, it is narrated specifically in Q.S an-Nahl 16 (78). The verse is also a scientific legitimization in the realm of modern science that proves the factual values of the Qur'an about the potential that Allah gives to humans in sequence after their release from the womb. Based on this background, the purpose of this research is to prove the existence of isomorphs between the world of al-Qur'anic language and the world of reality. By using Betrand Russel's logical atomism theory analysis to find the isomorph. The result of this research is that there is an isomorph between the world of language in Q.S an-Nahl-16: (78) and the world of reality as proven by modern medical science that the orderly potential of human anatomy is commensurate with what is narrated in Q.S an-Nahl 78: [16].

Abstract

This study explores the ubiquitous presence of wasathiyah (moderation) in the Qur'an, focusing on Surah Al-Baqarah verse 143 as its foundation. The research aims to understand the Qurais Shihab's interpretation of verses related to wasathiyah across various issues and discourses. This article's position in existing research novelty lies in proving the ubiquitous presence of wasathiyah in the Qur'an, which has not been comprehensively studied in scholarly journals. Despite Qurais Shihab extensively discussing the spread of wasathiyah verses in various situations and conditions in both his Al-Misbah exegesis and YouTube content, this article falls under literature review research with a qualitative approach. The methodology involves descriptive analysis and content study of Qurais Shihab's thoughts, particularly in the Al-Misbah exegesis. The findings conclude that the ubiquitous presence of wasathiyah exists within the contexts of religion, social-humanitarian issues, family, work, economics, and political governance.
