Abstract

The 13-Year Compulsory Learning Program is a strategic step taken by the Indonesian government to improve the quality of human resources by expanding access to education to the upper secondary level. This program is a continuation of the 9-Year Compulsory Learning program which only covers basic education, and aims to provide wider opportunities for every child in Indonesia to get an adequate education in the global and digital era. Despite facing major challenges, such as limited educational facilities and infrastructure, social and cultural barriers, and administrative problems in education management, the implementation of this program is expected to have a significant positive impact. The expected impacts include an increase in the participation rate of education at the upper secondary level, a decrease in the youth unemployment rate, and the creation of a smarter, empowered, and more productive society. The success of this program depends on strong cooperation between the government, the private sector, and the community, as well as the active role of all parties in supporting this policy through adequate budget allocation, equitable distribution of educational infrastructure, and empowerment of educators. The 13-Year Compulsory Learning Program has the potential to be a major driver in creating equality of educational opportunities and realizing the ideals of a fairer and more prosperous Indonesian independence.

Abstract

This study explores the transformative impact of technology on children's education, specifically examining the roles of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and gamification in the learning process. The research employs a qualitative approach with case studies conducted in primary and secondary schools that have integrated these technologies into their educational practices. Data were collected through interviews with teachers, school principals, and parents, as well as classroom observations and document analysis. The findings reveal that AI offers personalized learning experiences by tailoring content to individual students' needs, while IoT enhances classroom interactivity and engagement through real-time monitoring and smart devices. Furthermore, gamification has proven effective in boosting student motivation and participation by incorporating game-like elements such as rewards and challenges into the learning environment. Despite the positive impacts, challenges such as the digital divide, infrastructure limitations, and the need for teacher training remain obstacles to widespread implementation. This study concludes that while technology offers significant potential for educational transformation, it requires a balanced approach that includes adequate support for educators and infrastructure development, ensuring that all students can benefit equally from technological advancements.

Abstract

Digital literacy is an important skill that children must have in facing the challenges of the 21st century. This research aims to identify digital literacy challenges in children and formulate effective educational strategies to support the development of these competencies. The method used is a qualitative study through literature study and thematic analysis of various relevant scientific sources. The results of the study show that children face various challenges in digital literacy, such as limited critical thinking skills, lack of ethics in the use of technology, and exposure to negative content in cyberspace. To overcome this, a collaborative educational strategy is needed between schools, families, and communities. Digital literacy must be integrated into the curriculum, strengthened with a humanist pedagogical approach, and supported by moral values that are consistently instilled. With the synergy of all parties, children can grow up as individuals who are not only technologically capable, but also wise and responsible in facing the digital era.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a user experience (UX)-centered design framework for educational content delivered through All-in-One Multimedia Personal Computers (AOMPCs), focusing specifically on optimizing English learning and enhancing teaching effectiveness. By analyzing existing AOMPC-based English learning applications, the research explores how content presentation influences students' motivation, classroom engagement, and academic performance. The findings reveal that user experience optimization relies on multiple interrelated dimensions, including interface design, interactivity, visual aesthetics, and multimedia integration. These elements collectively shape a more engaging and immersive learning environment. Furthermore, the study integrates theoretical perspectives with empirical data to identify core drivers of an effective AOMPC learning experience, such as real-time feedback, adaptive content, and interactive task design. These factors significantly elevate learner motivation and cognitive engagement. The study not only offers practical insights for designing multimedia teaching tools but also contributes a theoretical foundation for future research and innovation in educational technology.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of the choir program at MTs Banu Hasyim Waru Sidoarjo in shaping the Islamic character of students, as well as the relevance of these activities to the values of Islamic Religious Education (PAI). The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using data reduction and descriptive presentation. The results of the study show that the choir program is carried out regularly every Saturday with national song material and religious songs that function as a medium for the formation of Islamic character, such as amanah, patience, ta'awun, gratitude, and mujahadah. Student involvement in these activities also contributes to the formation of discipline, responsibility, and cooperation. In addition, the MTs Banu Hasyim choir won 1st place at the district level in 2023. In conclusion, the choir program is an effective means of forming students' Islamic character that is integrated with the values of PAI and vocal arts. It is recommended that the school continue to support the development of this program as an alternative to holistic and sustainable art-based character learning.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low academic performance of students in mathematics, particularly in the topic of solid geometry, which requires strong visualization and spatial reasoning skills. The purpose of this research is to investigate the extent to which the use of visual media can enhance the mathematics learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SDN Langsar I. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach conducted over two cycles, with each cycle consisting of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The results of the study indicated a significant improvement in students' learning outcomes following the implementation of visual media in the learning process. In the pre-action phase, only 3 students met the Minimum Mastery Criteria (MMC). After the implementation of Cycle I, the number of students who achieved mastery increased to 7 students, representing 43.75% of the class. A more substantial improvement was observed in Cycle II, where 14 students, or 87.5%, successfully met the MMC. These findings demonstrate that the integration of visual media such as images, 3D models, and other visual aids has a positive impact on students' conceptual understanding and academic achievement in learning solid geometry. Therefore, visual media can be considered an effective alternative teaching strategy to improve the quality of mathematics instruction at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the strategies of Islamic religious education teachers in overcoming students' habit of swearing and profanity in formal and non-formal educational institutions. This research uses a qualitative approach with phenomenological methods. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation of Islamic religious education teachers and non-formal educators. The data analysis technique in this study uses phenomenological data analysis developed by Clark Moustakas. The results of the study show that the strategies applied by teachers include a persuasive approach, namely by giving advice with religious values, habituating commendable morals, educational sanctions, and examples from teachers. In addition, the role of the environment such as family and peers also affects the success of teachers in instilling moral values in students. This strategy has been proven to be able to minimize students' bad habits in speaking.

Abstract

This qualitative literature study aims to examine in detail the influence of parental support on student learning outcomes at the high school (SMA) level. Given the role of the student's family environment considered important in student learning, this study presents relevant literature such as journal articles, books, and research reports selected based on the quality and proximity of the topic. The analytical approach used is a narrative synthesis strategy to identify trends, themes, and insights to understand the contribution of parental support, such as emotional aspects, learning, and involvement. The conclusions of the literature review suggest that there is a strong positive association between different forms of parental support and improved learning achievement of high school students, although the mechanism and intensity of the effect vary depending on socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. It is concluded that parental support is important in encouraging, enabling, and creating a supportive learning environment for high school students, so the implications of these findings underscore the importance of parent-school partnerships in initiatives to improve student academic performance.
