Abstract

Accessibility in healthcare facilities is an essential aspect of ensuring equal rights for persons with disabilities to obtain safe, comfortable, and equitable healthcare services. One of the key facilities supporting accessibility is the accessible toilet. However, the implementation of accessible toilets in healthcare facilities continues to face challenges in meeting technical standards and universal design principles. This study aims to analyze the technical standards of accessible toilets in hospitals based on applicable regulations in Indonesia and to evaluate their conformity with universal design principles. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature review of laws and regulations, technical standards, reference books, and previous studies related to healthcare accessibility. The analysis was further supported by an evaluation of the implementation of accessible toilet facilities based on as-built drawing data from a hospital in Jakarta. The findings indicate that an accessible toilet should provide a wheelchair maneuvering space with a minimum turning diameter of 150 cm, a door width of at least 90 cm, strategically positioned grab bars, wheelchair-accessible washbasins, anti-slip flooring, and an emergency call button as a safety feature. The evaluation revealed that most components complied with existing regulations; however, several non-conformities were identified, including washbasin height exceeding the recommended standard and the absence of documented emergency call systems. These findings suggest that accessibility standards must be implemented comprehensively to enhance the independence, safety, and comfort of persons with disabilities when accessing healthcare facilities. Therefore, the application of universal design principles and compliance with accessibility regulations are essential for creating inclusive and disability-friendly hospitals.

Abstract

Classical management remains influential in school administration, yet its assumptions of hierarchy, standardisation, and formal control are often considered insufficient for explaining educational practice in culturally embedded settings. This study examines how classical management principles are adapted and humanised in the management of primary school learning in Aceh, Indonesia. A qualitative case study was conducted at Keude Blang Public Primary School in East Aceh. Data were generated through in-depth interviews with the principal and teachers, direct observation of school and classroom practices, and analysis of lesson plans, annual programmes, organisational documents, meeting notes, and evaluation records. Data were analysed through interactive reduction, display, and verification, followed by thematic reinterpretation around structure, leadership, moral commitment, collegiality, and community participation. The findings show that planning, organising, leading, and controlling continue to provide the formal architecture of learning management. However, these functions are not enacted mechanically. They are softened and reworked through participatory leadership, developmental supervision, religiously grounded motivation, intergenerational teacher collaboration, a familial organisational culture, and community support. The study identifies a persistent tension between administrative compliance and pedagogical improvement, particularly where evaluation focuses more strongly on learning outcomes than on instructional processes and where limited facilities constrain innovation. The article proposes a contextual humanistic classical management model in which structural discipline is made educationally productive through moral legitimacy, collegial relations, and local social capital. The model extends classical management beyond its industrial origins and offers a context-sensitive explanation of school management in a non-Western setting.

Abstract

This study was conducted in response to the importance of maintaining the resilience of juvenile inmates at the Class II Juvenile Correctional Institution (LPKA) in Banda Aceh so that they are better able to cope with various psychological pressures encountered during the rehabilitation process. The study aimed to describe the implementation of group counseling in maintaining the resilience of juvenile inmates, explain the stages involved in the counseling process, and explore changes in the resilience experienced or demonstrated by juvenile inmates after participating in the program. A qualitative approach with a descriptive research design was employed. The study involved 13 informants, consisting of 10 juvenile inmates and 3 correctional officers, who were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings revealed that the implementation of group counseling at LPKA Class II Banda Aceh was carried out through four stages: formation, transition, working, and termination. The counseling process fostered a supportive group atmosphere that provided juvenile inmates with opportunities to share their experiences, receive peer support, and develop emotional regulation skills. After participating in group counseling, the juvenile inmates demonstrated positive developments, including improved emotional control, greater self-confidence, better adaptability to their environment, stronger social relationships, and increased optimism about their future. These findings indicate that the implementation of group counseling contributes positively to maintaining the resilience of juvenile inmates throughout their rehabilitation process at LPKA Class II Banda Aceh.

Abstract

Abstract

Marriage in Islam is not merely a legal contract but also an institution aimed at creating a harmonious and lasting family. One of the concepts discussed by classical and contemporary Islamic jurists is kafa'ah (compatibility) between prospective spouses. Classical scholars generally associated kafa'ah with lineage, religion, freedom, profession, and economic status. However, contemporary social developments have shifted the understanding of compatibility toward education, character, emotional maturity, and shared life goals. This study aims to analyze the concept of kafa'ah in Islamic family law from a contemporary perspective. This research employs a qualitative method using a normative juridical approach through literature review. Primary sources include the Qur'an, Hadith, classical fiqh literature, and the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI), while secondary sources consist of books and scientific journal articles. The findings indicate that kafa'ah is not an absolute legal requirement for the validity of marriage but serves as an important consideration in achieving the objectives of Islamic marriage (maqāṣid al-syarī'ah). In contemporary society, religious commitment, morality, education, and psychological readiness are more relevant indicators of compatibility than lineage or social status.

Abstract

The spin-off policy in the Islamic insurance industry represents an institutional strengthening strategy intended to enhance the independence and sustainability of Islamic insurance businesses in Indonesia. In Aceh, this policy has particular relevance because the region possesses distinctive social and institutional characteristics associated with the implementation of Sharia principles. This study aims to analyze the readiness of the Islamic insurance industry and identify the challenges arising after the implementation of the spin-off policy in Aceh. The study employs a library research method by examining relevant written sources, including books, scholarly articles, regulations, institutional reports, and publications concerning the development of the Islamic insurance industry. The data are analyzed descriptively and analytically through identification, classification, comparison, and synthesis of information related to industry readiness and post-spin-off challenges. The findings indicate that readiness for transformation is influenced by institutional strength, capital adequacy, human resource capacity, governance quality, technological preparedness, adaptive capability, and market development. Meanwhile, the main challenges involve public literacy and trust, market penetration, operational efficiency, consistent Sharia compliance, and business sustainability. The study concludes that spin-off should not merely be understood as an administrative separation, but as a comprehensive transformation integrating internal corporate readiness with Aceh's socioeconomic characteristics. This study contributes a contextual perspective on Islamic insurance transformation at the regional level and offers a conceptual basis for developing more adaptive, competitive, and sustainable institutional strategies.

Abstract

This study analyzes the concept of joint marital property (harta bersama) in Islamic family law in Indonesia, comparing the classical fiqh perspective, which maintains separate ownership between spouses, with the contemporary ijtihad found in the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI). KHI employs the concept of syirkah abdan as a foundation for unifying assets to ensure family welfare, although it frequently faces implementation gaps in practice. This normative legal research finds that the distribution of joint property after divorce should not necessarily be rigid or equal, but must consider the actual contributions of each party, including domestic roles that are often overlooked. This study proposes a reconstruction based on maqashid sharia and the concept of family ownership (al-milkiyyah al-usariyyah) to achieve more gender-responsive justice. To bridge the gap formal justice, it is recommended to reformulate execution procedures through collaborative mediation models and the establishment of support service units involving interdisciplinary experts. This approach is expected to end rigid execution practices and protect the rights of vulnerable parties in family property disputes.
