Abstract

The ZISWAF (Zakat, Infaq, Sadaqah, and Waqf) framework constitutes a core pillar of Islamic social finance, offering institutional mechanisms for socio-economic justice and poverty mitigation. However, traditional fund administration often encounters structural challenges related to operational efficiency, transparency, and donor confidence. The rapid evolution of Financial Technology has introduced novel opportunities to digitalize donation workflows. Utilizing a qualitative multiple-case study design and thematic analysis, this study evaluates 20 digital donation platforms across 10 Muslim-majority and 10 non-Muslim countries. The analysis investigates platform operations across five key dimensions: Scope and Relevance, Transparency and Trust, User Interface and Convenience, Target Audience, and Project Diversity and Impact. The findings reveal that while digital platforms significantly lower transactional friction and enhance accountability through real-time tracking and verification, critical barriers persist regarding data privacy, cybersecurity, the digital divide, and Shariah governance (fiqh compliance). By embedding technical capability within Islamic jurisprudential principles (al-adl, maslahah, amanah), this paper provides a balanced framework for optimizing technology-driven Islamic social finance.

Abstract

The childfree phenomenon, widely discussed on social media, has become a contemporary social issue influencing adolescents' perspectives on family and marriage. For high school students at SMA N 1 Patean, this issue intersects with individual freedom and the development of the birrul walidain character. This study aims to analyze students' understanding of childfree and its role in developing devotion to parents. The main focus examines how students perceive childfree and how Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and the school environment contribute to instilling birrul walidain values amidst this issue. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews with students and PAI teachers, observations, and supporting documentation. The data were analyzed descriptively to illustrate patterns of student understanding and their relationship to character development. Results showed that most students learned about childfree through social media, interpreting it partially as personal freedom. Religious education in schools plays a crucial role in clarifying students' perspectives by emphasizing family values, moral responsibility, and devotion to parents. These findings highlight that strengthening faith-based character education is necessary to foster critical thinking while maintaining filial piety. In conclusion, students' understanding of childfree can serve as a reflective tool in developing birrul walidain character when guided through appropriate educational approaches. Consequently, schools need to integrate contemporary social issues into PAI learning to strengthen moral character. Future research is recommended to expand the scope and methodology to obtain a broader picture of the relationship between social media trends and adolescent character development.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the values of Tauhid education in the song lyrics “If Heaven and Hell Never Existed” by Ahmad Dhani and their relevance to Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning. The focus of the study includes the concept of heaven and hell in the Islamic perspective, the history and position of song lyrics within Islamic tradition, the representation of the elements of Tauhid in the song lyrics, and the forms of internalization of Tauhid values in PAI learning. This research employs a qualitative approach with a library-based research design. The primary data consist of the song lyrics, which are analyzed using Roland Barthes’ semiotic approach through three levels of meaning: denotation, connotation, and myth. Secondary data are obtained from the Qur’an, Hadith, Islamic education books, and relevant scholarly literature. Data analysis techniques involve content analysis and semiotic interpretation, which are then linked to the concept of Tauhid education in Islam. The findings indicate that the lyrics of “If Heaven and Hell Never Existed” deeply represent Tauhid values. At the denotative level, the lyrics pose reflective questions regarding human motivation in worship. At the connotative level, the song emphasizes values of sincerity (ikhlas), mahabbah (divine love), and devotion to Allah. At the myth level, the song criticizes transactional forms of worship and affirms the importance of worship that is purely directed to Allah alone. The Tauhid values identified include Tauhid Rububiyah, Uluhiyah, and Asma’ wa Sifat. This study concludes that religious song lyrics can serve as an alternative learning medium in PAI to strengthen the internalization of Tauhid values, particularly in the affective and spiritual domains of students. The use of songs as learning media helps students understand worship in a more contextual, reflective, and meaningful manner.

Abstract

The Momongi tradition is a local tradition that continues to be preserved by the community of Kembang Kuning hamlet, Rejosari Village, Kalikajar District, Wonosobo Regency as an expression of gratitude for the birth of a child. This tradition is carried out through food almsgiving on the child's birthday (weton) based on the Javanese calendar. Along with social and cultural changes, the Momongi tradition faces challenges in maintaining the sustainability of its values, particularly in relation to the development of adolescents' religious character. Therefore, this study aims to examine the meaning, forms, and pocesses of the Momongi tradition, to identify the values contained within it, to analyze how these values are received by the community, and to explore the contribution of the Momongi tradition to the development of adolescents' religious character. The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Werw data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving community leaders, parents, and adolescents in Kembang Kuning Hamlet. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the Momongi tradition contains religious, social, and moral values, including faith, gratitude, social concern, togetherness, and responsibility. These values are positively received by the community and play a sole role in shaping adolescents' religious character through processes of role modeling, habituation, and internalization of values within the family and community environment. The contribution of this research to the field of scholarship lies in strengthening studies on local wisdom as a medium for religious character education and as an effort to preserve local culture within the context of socio-religious education.
