Abstract

Introduction: Adolescence is a transitional stage from childhood to adulthood. When a teenage girl experiences menstruation, it indicates that her reproductive organs are functioning properly. Therefore, maintaining genital hygiene is essential to prevent reproductive health problems, such as vaginal discharge. For this reason, what you must have is good attitudes, behavior, and family support regarding vulva hygiene to achieve reproductive health for teenagers. Purpose: This research aims to identify the relationship between attitudes, behavior, and family support on signs and symptoms of vaginal discharge. Method: This study employed a quantitative research design using an analytic cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of tenth-grade female students of SMK Kesehatan Annisa. The sample comprised 83 respondents, selected using a simple random sampling technique. Results: The results of this study showed that 56 respondents (67.5%) did not experience signs and symptoms of vaginal discharge, 77 respondents (92.8%) had a positive attitude, 73 respondents (88.0%) had positive behavior, and 44 respondents (53.0%) had family support the good one. The results of the bivariate research showed no relationship between attitudes and signs and symptoms of vaginal discharge, with a value of 0.084. Conclusion: There was no correlation between behavior and signs and symptoms of vaginal discharge, with a value of 0.304. Abstract

Anemia remains a common health problem and can be influenced by various physiological factors and lifestyle behaviors. This study aimed to analyze factors associated with hemoglobin (Hb) level among respondents. This research used a quantitative approach with bivariate and multivariate analyses. The Chi-square test was applied to analyze categorical variables, while the Independent Samples T-Test was used for numerical variables. Furthermore, logistic regression analysis was conducted to determine the simultaneous effect of independent variables on Hb status. The variables examined included sex, age, portion and frequency of meals, peripheral oxygen saturation (SpO₂), and exercise duration. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that none of the variables had a significant relationship with Hb status (p > 0.05). However, the multivariate analysis indicated that age (p = 0.021) had a significant association with Hb status, while the other variables did not show a significant relationship. Future studies are recommended to involve a larger sample size, include additional variables such as iron intake, nutritional status, and physical activity patterns, and apply a longitudinal research design to better explain causal relationships

Abstract

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a virus that infects the body by attacking human white blood cells, causing sufferers to experience a decline in the immune system or a condition of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). Non-compliance is the attitude of patients when they do not follow recommendations or orders maximally in undergoing treatment and is one of the causes of therapy failure. It is necessary to identify the reasons for patient non-compliance as a basis for intervention to improve the level of compliance of HIV patients. This study aims to determine what reasons for non-compliance affect the level of patient compliance so that it can be used as a basis for intervention in an effort to improve the level of compliance in achieving therapy success. This study was conducted with a quantitative approach, observational design and cross-sectional research type. The study was conducted at a Regional General Hospital in Java on adult HIV patients diagnosed with HIV, receiving first-line ARVs, complete medical record data, willing to be interviewed and not lost to follow-up. Univariate analysis was performed using Microsoft Excel software application and continued with bivariate statistical analysis using IBM SPSS statistic 22 application. To see the influence of each reason for non-compliance on the level of compliance, the analysis was performed using binary logistic regression bivariate test. The results showed that patient age characteristics had an effect on compliance (P = 0.017 or <0.05) OR of 3.104 times, 95% CI (1.225-7.867) on compliance. Of the 17 measurements of reasons for non-compliance, the reason for wanting to avoid side effects had an effect on the level of compliance (P = 0.048) and could affect compliance OR of 0.384 times, 95% CI (0.149-0.990) so that age factors and factors wanting to avoid side effects need to be considered in conducting interventions for HIV patients.

Abstract

Adolescent girls who have experienced menstruation need to have a good understanding of reproductive health. Improper menstrual hygiene practices can increase the risk of reproductive tract infections (RTIs), which in the long term can impact fertility. Data shows that reproductive tract infections remain a health problem for adolescent girls, mainly due to a lack of knowledge and inappropriate personal hygiene practices. A preliminary study at SMP Pertiwi 1, Jambi City, showed that 3 out of 6 female students experienced genital itching accompanied by an unpleasant odor, and there were still inappropriate behaviors in maintaining hygiene during menstruation. This condition indicates the potential for reproductive health problems in the school environment. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes with reproductive organ hygiene behavior during menstruation in adolescent girls at SMP Pertiwi 1, Jambi City. This study used an observational analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were all 36 eighth-grade female students of SMP Pertiwi 1, Jambi City. A sample of 36 respondents was taken using a total sampling technique. The independent variables in this study were knowledge and attitudes, while the dependent variable was reproductive organ hygiene behavior during menstruation. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire based on the theory of adolescent reproductive health and menstrual personal hygiene, then analyzed univariately and bivariately using the Chi-Square test. The study was conducted from September 2024 to August 2025. The results of the bivariate test showed no significant relationship between knowledge and behavior (p = 0.292) or between attitudes and behavior (p = 1.000). The conclusion of this study is that there is no significant relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes with reproductive organ hygiene behavior during menstruation in adolescent girls at SMP Pertiwi 1, Jambi City. It is recommended that schools integrate reproductive health education into the curriculum or UKS activities to improve understanding and practice of menstrual hygiene more optimally

Abstract

One of the problems that occurs during adolescence is risky sexual behavior. This problem tends to be carried out by groups of teenagers aged 15-21 years. Risky sexual behavior can have impacts, including pregnancy at a young age. Currently the incidence of teenage pregnancy in Indonesia is 48 per 1,000 women. Survey results (2020) show that teenagers in Jambi Province who commit sexual acts are at risk of 68.1%, risky sex for teenagers consists of holding hands and being embraced by a boyfriend 42.2%, lip kissing 23.1%, petting and intercourse 2.8%. This deviation in sexual behavior occurs as a result of the adolescent's lack of ability to exercise self-control caused by a lack of knowledge about the impacts resulting from their sexual behavior and understanding of religion and applicable norms. This research aims to determine the influence of health promotion using animated video media on adolescent knowledge about risky sexual behavior. This research is pre-experimental research with One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 10 Jambi City with a population of 216 people, a sample of 63 participants. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires, then analyzed univariately and bivariately using the wilcoxon test. The results showed that the mean knowledge score of the respondents before the intervention was 4.75 and after the intervention, the mean knowledge score of the respondents was 9.22. It can be concluded that there is an influence of health promotion using animated video media on teenagers' level of knowledge about risky sexual behavior with a score of ⁇ 0.001. It is hoped that further research can be carried out with the development of better reproductive health animated video media and different materials so that teenagers are more responsible for their reproductive health

Abstract

Knowledge of menstrual physiology is crucial for midwifery students. Menstrual physiology encompasses vital information regarding ovulation periods, fertile windows, and related hormones. A lack of understanding can lead to inaccuracies in providing patient education and risks reinforcing misconceptions about menstruation. Technology-based learning media, such as animated videos and e-books, are options to enhance student knowledge. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of video and e-book learning media on knowledge of menstrual physiology among Applied Bachelor of Midwifery students. This research employed a quasi-experimental two-group pretest-posttest design. The study was conducted at the Department of Midwifery, Poltekkes Kemenkes Jambi. The population consisted of 60 fifth-semester midwifery students. Using a total sampling technique, 60 participants were divided into two groups: the odd-numbered attendance group (30 students) as the Video group and the even-numbered attendance group (30 students) as the E-book group. The results indicated that both video and e-book media significantly influenced the increase in student knowledge, with a p-value of 0.001<0.05. Regarding the comparison of effectiveness between the two, the mean difference was 1.10 with a p-value of 0.12>0.05, indicating no significant difference between the two media. Both video and e-book media are effective for use as learning tools. The selection and utilization of these media should be tailored to the learning preferences and needs of the students.

Abstract

Early detection of mental health problems among adolescents has become an important issue, especially amid the increasing prevalence of depression and anxiety that may lead to Academic Burnout Syndrome (ABS). This study aimed to determine the relationship between early detection of mental health and Academic Burnout Syndrome among eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 8 Denpasar, as well as to identify the direction and strength of the correlation. A quantitative descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach was used. The study was conducted from November 10 to 19, 2024, involving 220 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using mental health and academic burnout syndrome questionnaires and analyzed using the Spearman Rank correlation test. The results showed that 177 respondents (80.5%) were indicated to have mental health problems, with complaints such as anxiety, fatigue, and difficulty concentrating. Most students were categorized as having a low level of Academic Burnout Syndrome (59.5%). Statistical analysis revealed a significant relationship between early detection of mental health and Academic Burnout Syndrome (p-value = 0.001) with a correlation coefficient of -0.383, indicating a weak negative correlation. This means that the better adolescents are at recognizing their mental health conditions early, the lower their risk of experiencing academic burnout. Therefore, schools are encouraged to conduct routine mental health screenings and provide mental health education with support from teachers and parents as a preventive effort against Academic Burnout Syndrome
