Abstract

This research was motivated by the utilization of vacant land at SDN 31 Mataram which was previously not used to plant Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA). The aim is to increase students' knowledge and awareness of herbal plants through a TOGA planting program in the school environment. This activity was carried out as part of the Teaching Assistance program for the 2024/2025 academic year using land observation methods, socialization of the benefits of TOGA using presentation media, and practice of planting and caring for plants by students. The types of plants chosen included ginger, turmeric, lemongrass, aloe vera, and rosella flowers because their health benefits are easy for children to understand. The results showed that vacant land was successfully utilized as a TOGA area, students responded positively to the socialization, and were actively involved in planting and routine maintenance in turns. This program not only introduces traditional medicine but also fosters responsibility and concern for the environment. Therefore, similar activities are recommended for other schools as contextual learning as well as efforts to optimize land.

Abstract

The chili cultivation program at SDN Model Mataram is an initiative to support the Go Green movement while increasing environmental awareness. The purpose of this activity is to instill the values ​​of environmental conservation, independence, and entrepreneurship through direct farming practices. The implementation method consists of three stages: (1) socialization with the school, (2) implementation (land preparation, planting, maintenance), and (3) evaluation of plant growth. The result of this activity is the growth of chili plants as an effort to support the school's Go Green program. This abstract is the Indonesian language version.

Abstract

This learning activity was carried out on May 23, 2025 in class IV of SDN Model Mataram, with the aim of improving students' understanding in distinguishing factual and opinion sentences through the use of flashcard media. This implementation method includes three stages, namely planning, implementation, and evaluation. In the planning stage, namely compiling learning devices and designing flashcard media using the Canva application. The implementation is carried out through interactive learning with a Problem Based Learning approach that combines group discussions, presentations, and fact and opinion card games. Evaluation is carried out through observation of student activities, group work results, and completion of individual LKPD. The evaluation results show that the use of flashcard media significantly helps students understand the differences between factual and opinion sentences. Students become more active, enthusiastic, and motivated in participating in learning activities and learning becomes more fun and meaningful. It is hoped that flashcard media can continue to be used as an alternative innovative learning strategy to improve students' critical thinking skills in examining information.

Abstract

This community service program aims to strengthen students’ understanding of basic mathematical concepts through the LIMA (Latihan Intensif Matematika Asyik) tutoring program at SMPN 3 Majene. The implementation of the program was motivated by students’ low conceptual mastery, particularly in integer operations, which hindered their learning progress. The activities were carried out in three stages: preparation through observation and socialization, implementation using the LIMA Module that provides structured exercises and intensive assistance, and evaluation through the “hiking evaluation” method designed to be more interactive and engaging. The results showed improvements in students’ conceptual understanding, confidence in asking questions, and learning motivation. Overall, the LIMA program proved effective in enhancing students’ mathematical comprehension and can serve as a relevant supplementary mentoring model for strengthening basic concepts in schools.

Abstract

Early childhood education requires teachers to design learning that stimulates critical thinking skills. However, most PAUD teachers in HIMPAUDI, Depok District, Sleman, have limited understanding of the deep learning approach. This community service program aimed to enhance teachers’ competence in implementing deep learning through theory-based and practical training. The methods included socialization, interactive workshops, and classroom mentoring. The results showed a significant improvement in teachers’ understanding of deep learning concepts and their ability to design learning activities that foster children’s critical thinking. Moreover, teachers successfully developed innovative teaching tools and materials based on the deep learning approach. This program highlights the importance of continuous professional development for early childhood teachers and supports the implementation of 21st-century learning focused on cultivating critical thinking skills from an early age.

Abstract

This activity was carried out based on the problem of low utilization of digital technology in the learning process by prospective elementary school teachers, even though 21st-century learning requires teachers to be creative, innovative, and digitally literate. The objective of the activity was to equip prospective teacher students with practical skills in developing interactive learning media based on Quizizz that can be used directly in elementary classes. The implementation method included material delivery, learning development practices, group discussions, presentation of results, and evaluation using questionnaires. The results of the community service showed high participant participation with attendance reaching 96.6%, mostly coming from female students (79.3%), and there was no significant increase in the ability to design interactive media. The follow-up of this activity is directed at the next community service roadmap, namely the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into basic learning, so that prospective teachers are better prepared to face the ongoing transformation of digital education.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the ability of PGSD students at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Mataram, in developing instructional media as preparation for the School Field Introduction Program (PLP). Previous evaluations indicate that students still rely on conventional media such as chalkboards and printed images, which lack innovation and are not designed based on instructional principles. In fact, instructional media play an essential role in helping elementary students understand abstract concepts, increasing learning motivation, and creating engaging and meaningful learning experiences. Through the workshop, students gained knowledge about media concepts and types, characteristics of elementary learners, and criteria for selecting appropriate instructional media. The activity continued with guided practice in conducting needs analysis, designing, and presenting their media products. The results show improved student competence in producing creative, functional, and pedagogically relevant media, making them better prepared for PLP implementation in elementary schools.
