Abstract

Emotional education plays a crucial role in adolescent development, especially in helping them manage emotions and build optimal emotional intelligence (EQ). This article discusses the role of emotional education in pastoral counseling for teenagers, designed to enhance their ability to face life's challenges, build healthy social relationships, and strengthen their character. Emotional intelligence includes self-management, relationship management, self-awareness, and social awareness, all of which can be trained and learned. In this context, pastoral counseling serves as an effective approach, integrating spiritual values such as love, forgiveness, and patience, while providing the community support essential for the emotional development of teenagers. Additionally, through techniques such as spiritual reflection, prayer, and Bible meditation, pastoral counseling helps teenagers overcome anxiety, control emotions, and improve the quality of interpersonal relationships. In conclusion, emotional education within pastoral counseling is an effective means of supporting the development of emotional intelligence in adolescents, using a holistic approach grounded in spiritual values.

Abstract

Specialized waiters often face emotional and mental stress that can interfere with their health and the quality of service. Using cognitive restructuring techniques, this counseling aims to help the maids recognize and change their negative mindsets. Through the process of identifying, evaluating, and replacing negative thoughts with positive thoughts, servants are expected to improve their mental well-being. This study uses a qualitative method with in-depth interviews to explore the experience of servants in counseling. The results showed that this technique was effective in reducing stress and increasing the confidence of the servants, which in turn had a positive impact on their service to the congregation. These findings highlight the importance of counseling support for special caregivers in maintaining their mental and spiritual health.

Abstract

Juvenile delinquency is one of the significant challenges faced by modern societies, including Indonesia. Factors such as lack of affection, family conflicts, and environmental influences are often the main causes of deviant behavior. This study aims to analyze the application of love theology in pastoral counseling as a solution-oriented approach to address juvenile delinquency. The study employs a qualitative literature review method by analyzing relevant academic journals and books. The findings indicate that love theology, focusing on unconditional acceptance, forgiveness, and active love, plays an essential role in guiding adolescents toward spiritual recovery and moral transformation. This approach is considered effective in building empathetic relationships, providing spiritual support, and creating space for sustained character development.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi defense mechanism yang digunakan oleh remaja yang melakukan Self-harm di SMP Negeri 1 Kawangkoan dan mengajukan sterategi pastoral konseling. Metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif digunakan untuk menggali pengalaman dan perspektif remaja mengenai faktor-faktor yang mendorong perilaku Self-harm, kaitan defense mechanism dan sterategi pastoral konseling untuk pencegahan serta penanganganannya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa remaja sering menggunakan defense mechanism diri seperti represi, rasionalisasi, pengalihan, sublimasi dan identifikasi sebagai respons terhadap tekanan emosional dan konflik interpersonal. Kurangnya dukungan sosial dan akses terhadap layanan kesehatan mental memperburuk situasi ini. Temuan ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya intervensi yang holistik melalui pastoral konseling, yang tidak hanya berfokus pada pengurangan perilaku Self-harm tetapi juga pada pengembangan strategi coping yang sehat. Kesimpulannya, strategi pastoral konseling yang efektif dalam membantu remaja mengembangkan mekanisme coping yang sehat yaitu pemahaman mendalam tentang Self-harm dan Defense Mechanism, pendekatan holistik dalam konseling, pengembangan coping mechanism yang sehat, pemberdayaan dan Pendidikan, dukungan sosial dan keterlibatan komunitas, serta evaluasi dan penyesuaian strategi.

Abstract

Adolescence is a pivotal period in individual development, where adolescents experience significant changes in physical, mental, social and emotional aspects. One of the main challenges faced is the management of strong emotions, which is often influenced by their interactions on social media. In the digital world, many teens choose to express their feelings through online platforms, which often only results in superficial interactions and does not solve their emotional problems in depth. Excessive use of social media can actually exacerbate feelings of loneliness and anxiety, and worsen social isolation. Therefore, the role of the pastoral counselor as a friend who is present in person becomes very important. With a love and empathy-based approach, pastoral counselors not only listen to the confessions, but also provide deeper emotional support and spiritual guidance that help teens find balance in their lives. Pastoral counselors can be a safe space for teens to talk about their feelings, address anxieties, and understand life challenges from a broader perspective, away from the negative impact of social media. This approach helps teens build healthier relationships, both emotionally and spiritually, and leads them to face life more readily without depending on social media.

Abstract

Gereja merupakan milik Allah yang hadir dalam dunia untuk menghadirkan damai sejahtera bagi orang-orang. Tidak itu saja gereja dimaknai sebagai komunal maupun pribadi yang menjadikan tubuhnya sebagai Bait Allah itu sendiri. Melalu pemahaman tersebut gereja memiliki tanggung jawab untuk dengan sadar menarik orang-orang dari dalam kegelapan menuju terang Kristus yang menyelamatkan. Untuk itu gereja memiliki tugas penting untuk menjawab setiap persoalan, tantangan dan pergumulan umat di tengah konteks yang makin beragam. Tulisan sederhana ini menawarkan sebuah model eklesiologi yang baru dengan nuansa keindonesian. Eklesiologi kebangsaan merupakan sebuah hasil penelusuran sederhana dalam bingkai tema KGPM yakni Yesus Kristus dalam Kebangsaan – Kebangsaan dalam Yesus Kristus. Upaya ini dilakukan sebagai sebuah refleksi eklesial menapaki 92 tahun KGPM berdiri sebagai upaya pembebasan dari segala tekanan, penindasan dan penjajahan yang dilakukan gereja Belanda (Indisce Kerk) yang diyakini menjadi salah satu alat kolonialisme dan iperialisme. Kekhasan Eklesiologi KGPM terlihat dari sejarah berdirinya gereja dalam usaha pembebasan bahkan merupakan bagian dari upaya kemerdekaan Indonesia. Semangat nasionalisme yang timbul dari pemuda-pemuda Minahasa membuahkan sebuah gereja lokal dengan corak keindonesian yang menjunjung tinggi keadilan.

Abstract

This study aims to interpret 1 Corinthians 14:34–35 through a historical-critical hermeneutical approach in order to understand the meaning of the prohibition against women speaking in the congregation. By examining the social, cultural, and argumentative context of Paul’s writing, this study evaluates whether the prohibition is theological-normative or pastoral-contextual. The analysis shows that the text emerged from a specific situation in the Corinthian church, which was facing liturgical disorder. Therefore, the prohibition should not be understood as a universal command, but rather as a pastoral response to a particular situation. This study proceeds with a constructive theological approach to formulate practical implications for today's church, especially in encouraging equal participation of women in ministry. The theology developed from this text should not restrict women’s roles but instead affirm their active and equal involvement in the life of the congregation.

Abstract

Church youth are often referred to as the backbone of the Church. Therefore youth also have an important role in the life of the Church. Many youths make worship only as a routine activity with certain intentions in worship. In addition, differences in family economic background also have an influence on the presence of young people in worship. This thesis contains the results of research on GMIM Sion Perak Sorong youth congregation. From the research results, the authors found that there were problems in youth organizations regarding their minimal attendance at worship. Therefore, the Church, in this case pastors and special ministers as well as parents, must play a role in motivating and guiding young people to be more active and earnest in participating in worship.

Abstract

Generasi Z yang tumbuh di tengah kemajuan teknologi informasi, mengalami transformasi yang signifikan dalam cara mereka berinteraksi, memperoleh informasi, dan menjalani kehidupan sehari-hari. Mereka dikenal karena kemampuannya yang canggih dalam memanfaatkan teknologi digital. Namun, perkembangan ini juga membawa dampak negatif yang tidak bisa diabaikan terhadap kesejahteraan mental dan emosional mereka. Berbagai tantangan, seperti kecemasan, stres akibat perbandingan sosial melalui media sosial, ketergantungan pada gadget, dan kesulitan dalam menjalin hubungan yang otentik dan sehat, menjadi isu mendasar yang harus dihadapi oleh generasi ini. Di tengah tantangan tersebut, konseling pastoral muncul sebagai pendekatan yang relevan untuk memberikan bimbingan yang berbasis prinsipprinsip Alkitabiah. Konseling pastoral tidak hanya menawarkan dukungan spiritual yang mendalam, tetapi juga membantu individu memahami dan mengatasi masalah mereka dari perspektif iman Kristen. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menggali lebih dalam bagaimana gereja dan pemimpin spiritual dapat menerapkan teknik konseling pastoral yang tepat untuk membantu Generasi Z mengatasi tantangan di era digital.

Abstract

Teknologi digital yang semakin berkembang telah membawa dampak besar terhadap cara hidup umat manusia terutama generasi Z, dalam hal ini tertuju pada interaksi sosial dan pencarian identitas diri. Salah satu dampak negatifnya adalah Fear Of Missing Out (FOMO) yaitu kecemasan akan ketertinggalan informasi, pengalaman atau tren yang sedang berlangsung. FOMO dapat mempengaruhi kesehatan mental, harga diri dan kehidupan spiritual Generasi Z. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk memahami karakteristik generasi Z, bentuk-bentuk FOMO yang mereka alami serta merumuskan pendekatan pelayanan Pastoral yang responsif terhadap pergumulan tersebut. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif-deskriptif serta pendekatan studi pustaka, tulisan ini menekankan pentingnya gereja sebagai komunitas yang empatik, inklusif dan relevan dengan dunia digital. Pelayanan pastoral yang mendengarkan secara aktif, meneguhkan identitas dalam Kristus, dan membangun komunitas sehat merupakan langkah strategis untuk mendampingi Generasi Z dalam menghadapi tekanan sosial akibat FOMO.
