Abstract

The objective of this study is to identify and analyze the elements of signs used in the film Galaksi to depict juvenile delinquency, employing Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic theory. This research adopts a qualitative approach with a semiotic analysis method focusing on three types of signs: icons, indices, and symbols. The subject of the study is the film Galaksi (2023), which explores the theme of juvenile delinquency against the backdrop of high school students' lives. The findings reveal that the film represents various forms of juvenile misconduct, such as safety violations (riding without a helmet), cyberbullying, inter-gang conflicts, and truancy. Through an analysis of visual and verbal signs, the study demonstrates that each element reflects the social and psychological dynamics of adolescents, ranging from rebellion against norms to efforts toward positive transformation.The results also highlight that the film does not merely portray negative adolescent behavior but underscores the significance of social support in the process of character transformation, particularly through the relationship between the main characters, Galaksi and Kejora. This study contributes valuable insights into how mass media, especially films, are utilized to represent social issues among adolescents.

Abstract

Today’s young generation faces a variety of complex challenges, such as academic pressure, social media dynamics, and high social expectations, which can trigger stress, anxiety, and burnout. Burnout, characterized by emotional exhaustion, decreased motivation, and feelings of helplessness, is increasingly experienced by the younger generation. Mental resilience, or the ability to bounce back from adversity and adapt to change, is key in facing these challenges. This study explores the role of psycholinguistics, the study of the relationship between language, thought, and behavior, in building the mental resilience of the younger generation. Through a qualitative approach and literature review, this study identifies psycholinguistic-based strategies, such as the use of positive words, reframing, and therapeutic storytelling, to improve mental resilience. The results show that positive and constructive language can help the younger generation manage stress, increase self-confidence, and build a more resilient mindset.

Abstract

The limited facilities and infrastructure in Special Needs Schools (SLB) are one of the main challenges in providing access to proper education for Children with Special Needs (ABK). This study aims to analyze various obstacles to facilities and infrastructure that are obstacles in the implementation of education in Special Needs Schools (SLB) that are in accordance with their needs. The method used by researchers in gathering this information is a literature study by collecting and analyzing data from various previous studies related to inclusive education and the condition of facilities and infrastructure in SLB. The results obtained indicate that there are many limitations to facilities and infrastructure that are obstacles in ABK education, ranging from limited infrastructure, minimal accessibility facilities, and the lack of educators who have special competencies that are obstacles in education for ABK. Therefore, more systematic interventions and policy efforts are needed to improve the quality of facilities and infrastructure in SLB so that education for ABK can run optimally.

Abstract

Pendidikan inklusif adalah sistem pendidikan yang memungkinkan semua siswa, termasuk Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus (ABK), untuk belajar bersama dalam lingkungan yang sama tanpa adanya diskriminasi. Tujuan utama pendidikan inklusif adalah memberikan kesempatan yang setara bagi seluruh peserta didik agar mendapatkan pendidikan yang berkualitas sesuai dengan kebutuhannya. Namun, implementasinya masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan, terutama dari sisi tenaga pendidik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode tinjauan literatur untuk menganalisis berbagai kendala yang dihadapi guru dalam menyelenggarakan pendidikan inklusif, seperti kurangnya kompetensi dalam mengajar ABK, keterbatasan Guru Pembimbing Khusus (GPK), serta pelatihan yang belum efektif. Selain itu, guru sering mengalami kesulitan dalam perencanaan pembelajaran, pemilihan metode yang tepat, serta manajemen kelas yang kompleks. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kualitas pendidikan inklusif dapat dilakukan melalui pelatihan berkelanjutan, penyediaan GPK yang memadai, serta penguatan kolaborasi antara guru, orang tua, dan tenaga ahli. Dengan strategi yang tepat, pendidikan inklusif di Indonesia dapat berjalan lebih efektif dan memberikan pengalaman belajar yang optimal bagi seluruh siswa.

Abstract

Children's language acquisition is a complex process involving the development of phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics. This study aims to analyze the language development of children aged 3-5 years based on four observation reports involving children named Renata Sitorus, Sari Ramadani Nasution, and Anisa Zahra. With a qualitative descriptive approach, this study compares the development of phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics in children in that age range. The results showed that as children get older, the language structures they master become more complex. Phonological errors are common in children aged 3 years, while syntax develops better at age 5 years. A formula for the speed of language acquisition was developed based on the amount of understanding and sentence structure used by children. This study provides insight into the factors that influence children's language development and optimal language stimulation strategies.

Abstract

Short stories as a form of literary works often raise social issues, show the dynamics of social interaction, and describe various conflicts that arise in people's lives. One of them is the short story “Gerobak” by Seno Gumira Ajidarma which will be studied using George Simmel's Social Interaction theory. This short story highlights the social inequality between the rich and the poor and creates instability in the interaction of society. This research aims to analyse how social interaction and social conflict in the short story can be studied using George Simmel's theory. This research uses descriptive qualitative research method. The object of this research is the short story "Gerobak" by Seno Gumira Ajidarma. The methods used in data collection are literature study and data recording. The data in this research are primary data and secondary data. Data analysis uses data identification, data classification and data interpretation. Finally, the results of the analysis are poured into critical writing with sub-chapters and short story fragments.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the representation of the struggle of the main female character, Maria, in facing gender inequality through literary works. A descriptive approach and qualitative methods are used to analyze data in the form of words and sentences in short stories that raise the theme of feminism. The results of the study show that Maria is depicted as a strong woman who tries to prove that women can be independent without relying on men. Although her appearance is not striking, Maria has an attractive personality, mature thinking, firm principles, courage, and loyalty to her friends. Maria opposes the view that considers women as weak creatures and dares to fight against male dominance. In addition, she is depicted as a wife who is loyal to her husband.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the phenomenon of alienation that occurs in the short story Surau di Sebelah Masjid by Raudah Jambak through the perspective of Karl Marx's alienation theory. Modernization that has penetrated the lives of traditional communities has caused social and cultural alienation marked by the loss of spiritual values and the breakdown of social relations. Using a sociology of literature approach and qualitative analysis methods, this study found that the alienation experienced by the characters in the short story reflects four forms of alienation according to Marx, namely alienation from the results of work, the work process, fellow human beings, and oneself. The results of this study indicate that modernization not only brings material changes, but also triggers an identity crisis and the loss of social solidarity in a society that adheres to tradition.

Abstract

This research analyzes the short story Tio Na Tonggi by Hasan Al-Banna using Marxist Feminism theory to reveal gender injustice and oppression of women in a patriarchal society. Through descriptive methods and a qualitative approach, this research highlights how the main character, Tio, is trapped in social and economic norms that place him in a subordinate position. In this short story, women are represented as objects of sacrifice who depend on the family, with the character Pitta Bargot Nauli as a symbol of women's sacrifice for the benefit of the family, even though their rights and freedoms are neglected. Apart from that, Tio's oppression is also seen through social expectations and economic dependence that bind her to traditional roles, as well as the exploitation of women's bodies as economic resources in the capitalist system. The research results show that this short story depicts how patriarchal and capitalist structures contribute to the marginalization and oppression of women, both in the social, economic and family realms.

Abstract

This research analyzes the poem "Lelaki Tua Di Simpang Raya" by Raudah Jambak through the social construction theory of Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckmann, to understand how social reality is constructed through the experiences and interactions of individuals in society. This poem describes the social reality experienced by an old man as a result of social construction formed through interactions with others. This analysis highlights how the identity and meaning of an individual's life are formed through social processes involving externalization, objectivation, and internalization. The results show that social construction can influence and differentiate individuals in society, which invites readers to be more sensitive to social realities that are often ignored. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method to understand the relationship between literary works, social construction, and social reality.
