Jurnal Keislaman is a peer-reviewed journal published twice a year (March and September). Jurnal Keislaman is published online by Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Taruna Surabaya in March 2018 as a continuation to the previously printed journal, which was initially published in 2012. Jurnal Keislaman was registered as p-ISSN (2089-7413) and e-ISSN (2722-7804) at BRIN. Jurnal Keislaman has been a member of crossref with DOI prefix 10.54298. Therefore, each article has a unique DOI number.

Abstract

The modernization of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) philanthropic activism in Indonesia emerged as a response to the dynamics of complex social and economic change. NU as a traditionalist Islamic organization utilizes the Aswaja principle (Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah) which focuses on moderation, justice, tolerance, and balance to adapt its philanthropic approach. This study highlights how NU strengthens local values and Islamic traditions while innovating through philanthropic programs such as Gerakan Koin NU, NUSAQU, ASTANA, and the Bank Sampah Nusantara environmental program. With a moderate and inclusive approach, NU has succeeded in responding to the needs of modern society without neglecting tradition, creating a balance between spiritual, social, and environmental demands. This study uses qualitative methods through literature studies to explore NU's contribution to modernizing Islamic philanthropy, showing the relevance of this religious organization as an agent of adaptive and sustainable social change.

Abstract

This article discusses the implementation of prayer as a spiritual value in society by taking the perspective of Imam Al-Ghazali as a famous Islamic and Sufi philosopher until today. This study focuses on society in the implementation of prayer which of course is in the midst of their busy lives or demands of different circumstances. In essence, prayer is a communication between a servant and his God, so there is a way for a servant to enjoy the opportunity. However, this is not easy and even many of us cannot enjoy this communication. Starting from here, we take Imam Al-Ghazali's thoughts in providing a different view of the meaning of prayer. So that this can be used as a benchmark for not underestimating a worship, especially prayer. Because prayer is a pillar of religion and worship that is first accounted for on the Day of Judgment. This study uses a qualitative method with a philosophical approach, which is a method used in this study. By distributing questionnaires and will be strengthened by the results of interviews with several respondents. So that we can find out the results of the research that will be carried out effectively and actually.

Abstract

This study aims to see the relationship between the level of Islamic religious education and the use of the Hajj and Umrah hand fund program at PT. Hanan Nusantara. This study is a quantitative approach study with the type of correlation. This study is a population study using Saturated Sampling, namely all students totaling 40 Umrah pilgrims in the January period and 10 Hajj pilgrims. This study is a type of correlation research using a Likert scale questionnaire. The type of questionnaire used is a closed questionnaire which in its preparation uses the Likert Scale model. To answer the formulation of the problem, the data will be analyzed descriptively quantitatively with a percentage. While to answer the third problem formulation, the data will be analyzed statistically using the Product Moment correlation technique. The results of this study showed that the level of understanding of Islamic religious education of the Jama'ah PT. Hanan Nusantara is in the good category. Then the use of the Hajj and Umrah hand fund program at PT. Hanan Nusantara is in the good category. Furthermore, there is a significant relationship between the level of understanding of Islamic religious education and the use of the Hajj and Umrah advance fund program at PT. Hanan Nusantara. This can be seen from the probability results of 0.018. Therefore, p <0.05 (0.018 <0.05) then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. This means that there is a significant relationship between the level of understanding of Islamic religious education and the use of the Hajj and Umrah advance fund program at PT. Hanan Nusantara.

Abstract

Dalam dunia modern yang ditandai oleh tekanan materialistik dan krisis spiritual, tasawuf menawarkan jalan untuk menyelaraskan lima dimensi batiniah manusia: jasmani, ruh, qalbu, nafs, dan akal. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi keterkaitan fungsional antar dimensi tersebut dalam kerangka tasawuf sebagai upaya memulihkan keseimbangan batin dan menumbuhkan kesadaran Ilahiah. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif-deskriptif melalui studi pustaka, penelitian ini mengacu pada sumber-sumber klasik maupun kontemporer untuk membangun pemahaman yang holistik mengenai struktur batiniah manusia. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keharmonisan spiritual dapat dicapai melalui praktik-praktik sufi seperti dzikir, tafakkur, tazkiyatun nafs, dan bimbingan spiritual dari seorang mursyid. Tasawuf menekankan bahwa kelima dimensi ini harus dirawat secara integral agar manusia dapat menapaki jalan menuju kesempurnaan spiritual (insān kāmil) sekaligus merespons tantangan psikososial era kontemporer.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji praktik gadai emas  di bank syari’ah, sepenuhnya  sesuai prinsip syariah yang berdasarkan keputusan Dewan Syariah Nasional (DSN) MUI No. 26 atau selama ini belumlah pantas, nyatanya masih ada beberapa masalah yang timbul seperti: biaya simpan yang mahal, nilai pinjaman tidak sesuai harga emas, dan kekhawatiran adanya unsur riba karena penggabungan beberapa akad. Dengan metode analisis hukum syariah, penelitian menemukan bahwa meski secara formal sudah mengikuti fatwa MUI, tetapi ada yang perlu diperbaiki. Misalnya, biaya penyimpanan emas seharusnya dihitung berdasarkan biaya nyata penyimpanan, bukan berdasarkan harga emas yang digadaikan. Peneliti menyarankan perbaikan aturan, seperti menghapus biaya penyimpanan emas, sebab emas tidak memerlukan perawatan khusus - berbeda dengan hewan ternak yang memang butuh biaya perawatan. Selain itu, secara prinsip syariah, bank sebagai penerima gadai sudah seharusnya bertanggung jawab atas penyimpanan emas tersebut, karena barang telah berpindah tangan ke bank sebagai bagian dari akad gadai, kemudian menggunakan tarif flat yang lebih adil. Agar produk gadai emas syariah benar-benar mencerminkan keadilan, tolong menolong dan bebas riba seperti yang diharapkan.

Abstract

This study aims to identify strategies, challenges, and solutions carried out by Islamic Religious Education teachers in implementing differentiated learning in Islamic Religious Education subjects, as well as to analyze the role of teacher professionalismin aspects of pedagogical, social, personality, and professional competence, playing a role in supporting the successful implementation of differentiated learning in Islamic Religious Education subjects. This study uses a qualitative approach with a library research method. Data collection techniques in this study were obtained from various sources which were categorized into primary sources (data obtained directly from original references) and secondary (data obtained from indirect sources) and using descriptive qualitative methods in analyzing the data. Based on the results and discussions that have been described, the professionalism of Islamic Religious Education teachers greatly influences the successful implementation of differentiated learning in Islamic Religious Education subjects in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Teachers who have high pedagogical, personality, social, and professional competence are able to understand the characteristics and learning needs of students individually, and are able to design appropriate learning strategies through differentiation of content, process, and product. Differentiated learning in Islamic Religious Education is important because its value and historical content demands a flexible, contextual, and enjoyable approach. Professional Islamic Religious Education teachers are not only able to manage heterogeneous classes effectively, but are also able to instill Islamic values with a humanistic and adaptive approach, so that Islamic Religious Education learning can achieve its goals optimally.

Abstract

The emergence of Dayah in Aceh as an educational institution has been going on for several centuries. Historical records show that at the beginning of its presence as a laboratory for producing preachers in the spread of Islam, it has changed into producing preachers who have become a stronghold of the socio-cultural defence of the Acehnese people, who are thick with Islamic law values. Historians' records show that the existence of Dayah as an educational institution in Aceh has experienced various phases, including the emergence phase, the golden phase, the decline phase, and now the modernisation phase. In this study, the author wants to see how the socio-cultural role of educational institutions that have experienced various phases in the history of Aceh. The author uses a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods to reveal the socio-cultural role played by Dayah educational institutions in Acehnese society. The results of the study indicate that Dayah educational institutions in Aceh play a crucial role in guiding the socio-cultural development of the region. As in the social life of the community, Tengku alumni of Dayah are entrusted to become imam meunasah, imum mukim, and even several other strategic positions.

Abstract

Islamic education management in the digital era faces various challenges in maintaining harmony between the use of technology and the principles of Islamic law, which must be maintained. Technology provides easy access to information and learning, but on the other hand, there is a potential risk of negative influences that can shift Islamic values if not managed wisely and in accordance with sharia. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Islamic legal principles in Islamic education management at SMPIT Al Muslih and to identify the challenges and solutions faced in integrating technology with Islamic values. The research method used was a qualitative approach with a case study. Data were collected through observation and in-depth interviews with administrators and educators at SMPIT Al Muslih. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive qualitative techniques. The results show that SMPIT Al Muslih has attempted to implement Islamic legal principles in educational management by paying careful attention to the use of technology. Technology is used to support the learning process and educational management, while maintaining compliance with sharia values. However, there are challenges related to inadequate regulations and low digital competence among educators. This hampers the optimal implementation of Islamic legal principles in educational management. The implications of this research indicate the need to develop policies and regulations that are adaptive to technological developments, while maintaining the integrity of Islamic values.

Abstract

Abstract Educational philosophy plays a crucial role in addressing complex and multidimensional educational issues. Educational problems such as moral degradation, identity crises, and irrelevant learning systems require in-depth consideration of the values, goals, and direction of education. Educational philosophy serves as a normative and critical foundation for building a humanistic and transformative education system. This paper aims to explore the contribution of educational philosophy to analyzing and providing solutions to educational problems in Indonesia. The method used is a literature review with a reflective qualitative approach. The results of this study indicate that the application of educational philosophy can strengthen the direction, values, and meaning of Islamic education policies and practices.

Abstract

This paper aims to explore more deeply the clustering of society in the understanding of Islam. Clifford Geertz's clustering or classification of society in his previous research, as an initial reference to look at the development of the era until now. This clustering, if seen carefully, is still strongly felt in modern society today. So the author tries to detect back from previous research to the symptoms that occur today. This research uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The main literature is Clifford Geertz's research in his book The Religion of Java. By reviewing the book, the author found a clustering or classification of people in East Java about the understanding of Islam divided into 3 (three), namely: (1). the abangan, (2). the santri, and (3). the priyayi. By looking at the clustering of society according to Clifford Geertz's perspective, which is then used as a basic theory to look at modern society today, it turns out that there is still no change. In society, this clustering is still felt indirectly. There is still a group that is the object of preaching as the abangan, there is a group of santri as preachers and also the priyayi or officials. Which starts from the seat will be made different, both quality and position. Then from there are certain areas that can only be accessed by certain groups. Based on this theory, we can also observe shifts in the social and spiritual values of modern Javanese society. Specifically, regarding the traditions of slametan, religious study circles, and mosques, which have been central to Javanese society since ancient times. There have been several shifts in the values of the slametan tradition, namely a shift from communal-symbolic values to functional-practical values. The symbolic meaning of culture has begun to fade. In the general pengajian tradition, as a means of religious education, there has been a shift from face-to-face, charismatic values to digital, informative values. The style of religious communication has become more informal, audiovisual, and entertaining. Mosques, as social-spiritual centres, have shifted from being collective social-spiritual centres to formal spiritual symbols. Young people are beginning to distance themselves from physical religious activities.
