Abstract

This study aims to investigate initial reading and writing difficulties in lower grade elementary school students through a literature review approach. In analyzing this phenomenon, three main research aspects were explored, namely teachers' teaching strategies, factors causing reading difficulties, and the impact of students' lack of interest in learning. The research method applied is literature review, by searching, collecting and analyzing information from various related literature sources. Findings from the literature review show that effective strategies in overcoming reading difficulties include special guidance, attention to student development, and a pleasant learning atmosphere. Factors causing reading difficulties include internal and external aspects, while lack of interest in learning and family support also play a significant role. An in-depth understanding of these literatures makes a valuable contribution to constructing a holistic and in-depth picture of the problem of beginning reading difficulties.

Abstract

Pancasila and Citizenship education has a strategic role and function in forming good and reliable citizens, but students are still found who do not obey school rules, are undisciplined, cheat and are even late in submitting assignments. This research aims to explore the role of Pancasila and Citizenship education management in shaping and developing student character at the primary and secondary education levels. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The research results show that effective implementation of Pancasila and Citizenship Education Management can contribute positively to the development of student character. Character education programs supported by educational management, involving curriculum planning, teacher training, and periodic evaluations, have proven a significant impact in forming moral, ethical and civic values in students. Good coordination with parents and the community has also been proven to expand the influence of character education outside the school environment. The results of this research provide empirical support for the important role of Pancasila and Citizenship Education Management in producing a generation with strong character, providing a strong foundation for improving and developing character education programs at the primary and secondary education levels.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate effective strategies to increase organizational commitment among foundation-based permanent teachers at Private Vocational Schools specializing in Computer Engineering and Networking (TKJ) in East Jakarta. The research employs a quantitative approach using the SITOREM (Scientific Identification Theory to Conduct Operation Research in Education Management) analysis technique, which systematically and scientifically identifies priority indicators that need to be addressed. The study population consists of 381 teachers, with a sample of 195 permanent foundation-based teachers. The results of the SITOREM analysis reveal five key indicators that require focused attention to enhance organizational commitment: (1) Salary, (2) Recognition and Awards, (3) Management Support, (4) Sense of Obligation or Indebtedness to the Organization, and (5) Perception of Loss When Leaving the Organization. These five indicators form the foundation for developing strategic steps to improve commitment. The novelty of this study lies in its specific focus on permanent foundation teachers at TKJ Private Vocational Schools in East Jakarta, a subject that has received limited scholarly attention—particularly in the context of organizational commitment using the SITOREM approach. The findings imply that enhancing organizational commitment requires efforts to strengthen individual personality traits, implement transformational leadership, foster a positive organizational culture, and improve teacher job satisfaction. The proposed strategies are expected to create a conducive work environment and foster long-term teacher loyalty to the organization.
