Abstract

Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT)-based teaching module training plays a strategic role in fostering cultural sensitivity while strengthening the cultural identity of students and educators. This study aims to describe the process, results, and impact of CRT-based teaching module training for teachers and prospective teacher Professional Education (PPG) students at SMA Madani Palu. The method used is research and development (R&D) with a 4-D development model (define, design, develop, disseminate). Data were obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, questionnaires, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of the study indicate that this training successfully produced teaching modules that are contextual and responsive to local cultural diversity, marked by an increase in participants' pedagogical competence, understanding of Kaili cultural values, and the ability to integrate local wisdom in learning. Evaluation through pre-test and post-test showed an average increase in the CRT concept understanding score of 28%, while the results of the module feasibility test by experts obtained an average score of 92% (very feasible category). These findings indicate that the CRT approach is not only effective in strengthening the cultural identity of teachers and PPG students as prospective teachers, but also enriches inclusive and relevant learning practices to the local context.

Abstract

This study examines crimes against children through a case study of Hafizah’s murder in West Bangka. The main research problem lies in the limited criminological explanation that connects child vulnerability, weak social supervision, criminal opportunity, and legal dilemmas when both the victim and the offender are children. This study aims to analyze the case from the perspective of modern criminology and to formulate community-based prevention strategies. This research applies a qualitative method with a case study design. Data were collected through unstructured interviews, field observations, and document analysis related to the case, child protection, and the juvenile criminal justice system. The findings show that Hafizah’s murder cannot be understood merely as an individual criminal act. The case emerged from the interaction between the victim’s vulnerability, weak social control, poorly supervised social spaces, and the absence of an effective early-warning mechanism within the community. The novelty of this study lies in its integration of routine activity theory, social control theory, and child victimology to examine a local child homicide case in a conceptual manner. This study contributes to modern criminological scholarship and offers a prevention model based on risk-area mapping, community guardianship, child safety education, and rapid reporting systems.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an interactive digital module based on the Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning (CTML) for teaching general reasoning and to evaluate its feasibility and effectiveness in improving learning outcomes at LKP Bintang Pelajar. The development process adopts a combination of the Dick and Carey model integrated with Borg and Gall, consisting of five stages: initial research and information gathering, planning, product development, feasibility testing, and effectiveness testing. The study involved 90 twelfth-grade students selected through convenience sampling, distributed across various testing phases including one-to-one trials, small group trials, large group trials, and effectiveness testing with treatment and control groups. The results indicate that the developed module is highly feasible for use in learning. Expert evaluations show very high feasibility, with average scores of 4.78 from material experts, 4.35 from media experts, and 4.41 from instructional design experts. Student-based feasibility tests also show positive results, with scores ranging from 4.20 to 4.30, indicating feasible to very feasible categories. Effectiveness testing demonstrates that the module significantly improves learning outcomes. The Wilcoxon test shows a significance value of α = 0.000, with a 39% increase in post-test scores compared to pre-test results. Both treatment and control groups show significant improvements, though the treatment group using the developed module achieved stronger outcomes.

Abstract

Plantation companies have a culture of enhancing work discipline and the work performance of each of their employees. In the development of an organisation within a company, this is naturally implemented and has become standard practice. At Adolina Plantation, Division II of PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV Regional II served as one of the sites for this research. The conclusions drawn from the research indicate that several assessments were carried out, namely work discipline, work attitude and work performance. The findings of this research indicate that, by examining the performance of the harvesters, their performance has a positive impact on the plantation’s productivity in the long term; work discipline influences the assessment process, thereby providing recognition to each harvester; and work ability yields increasingly better results, with the harvester’s work ability ultimately leading to improved work performance.

Abstract

This study examines the representation of existential crisis in Lala Bohang’s trilogy The Book of Forbidden Feelings (2016), The Book of Invisible Questions (2017), and The Book of Imaginary Beliefs (2019). Bohang’s trilogy presents fragmented reflections that portray an individual’s confrontation with freedom, uncertainty, and the burden of personal choice. This research aims to analyze how Sartrean concepts of angst and authenticity are represented in Bohang’s works. Using a qualitative descriptive method, the study applies Jean-Paul Sartre’s existentialist framework, focusing on the concepts of angst, authenticity, and bad faith. The analysis is conducted on selected textual excerpts that depict the subject’s responses to existential pressure and social expectations. The findings reveal that existential angst emerges from the subject’s awareness of radical freedom and the inevitability of choice. Authenticity is reflected when the subject acknowledges this freedom and accepts responsibility for their decisions without seeking external justification. However, certain moments also suggest the possibility of bad faith when responsibility is displaced onto circumstances or external forces. In conclusion, Bohang’s trilogy illustrates the dynamic tension between angst and authenticity, showing how individuals negotiate freedom and responsibility in their search for meaning.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning in an effort to facilitate students' critical thinking skills at SD Negeri Brangkal 2 Gemolong. The PjBL model is a learning approach that focuses on completing real projects as a medium to encourage the formation of critical thinking skills, cooperation, and problem-solving skills. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving students and teachers who play a role in the implementation of PjBL. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis related to the project-based learning process. The results of the study show that the application of PjBL is able to facilitate or strengthen students' critical thinking skills, characterized by an increase in the ability to analyze, evaluate, and formulate arguments logically. In addition, students become more active in discussions and group work, and show increased confidence in expressing opinions and ideas. However, in its implementation there are several obstacles, such as suboptimal time management and limited resources. This research contributes to the development of more effective learning methods to improve the quality of education in elementary schools, and can be used as a reference for other schools in implementing PjBL to develop students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The enactment of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the new Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP Baru), effective in January 2026, introduces the recognition of “Living Law” under Article 2, marking a significant shift from the colonial legacy of the previous code. This recognition has sparked debate among legal scholars, particularly regarding its potential inconsistency with the long-established principle of legality. Although the 1945 Constitution and Law Number 6 of 2014 on Villages acknowledge customary law communities, formal recognition by the state remains a prerequisite for exercising customary justice. This study examines the application of Living Law within the Tengger Bromo Semeru community in Tosari District, Pasuruan Regency, which strongly upholds its customary norms. Employing a normative juridical method supported by empirical approaches, this research analyzes both current practices and future implementation post-KUHP Baru. The findings reveal that the application of Living Law is strictly limited by ideological, human rights, formal, territorial, justice, and sanction boundaries. Notably, formal limitations require the codification of customary norms into regional regulations (Perda) to ensure legal certainty. Without such codification, customary sanctions risk being deemed unlawful, thereby undermining their legitimacy within the national legal system while emphasizing the necessity of state recognition and legal integration
