Abstract

The rhinoceros beetle (Oryctes rhinoceros) is one of the main pests in immature oil palm plants (IMP) which can cause damage to growing points and reduce plant productivity. Control that still relies on chemical insecticides has the potential to increase costs and impact the environment. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using natural ingredients of noni fruit (Morinda citrifolia) and palm sap as attractants in controlling rhinoceros beetle pests in IMP oil palm plants. The study was conducted at PT Bakrie Sumatera Plantations Tbk using a nonfactorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 9 treatments and 4 replications. Observations were made on the number of rhinoceros beetles trapped and the level of pest attack before and after trap application. The results showed that the use of noni and palm sap was able to attract and trap O. rhinoceros effectively. The best treatment was obtained at P8 (150 grams of noni fruit) with an average catch of 5.89 individuals/week. The use of traps also reduced the rhinoceros beetle infestation rate from 0.64% to 0.34%, a 47% decrease. The use of these natural materials has the potential to be an environmentally friendly control alternative and reduce reliance on chemical insecticides.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the formulation of public policy on regional innovation implementation in South Sumatra Province and to identify obstacles in formulating the policy. This descriptive qualitative research used primary and secondary data collected through literature and field studies. Data were collected from several government institutions and then analyzed using William Dunn's policy formulation stages: problem formulation, policy agenda, selection of alternative policies, and policy determination. The results indicate that the introduction and formulation of problems in regional innovation implementation have generally gone quite well, as shown by the identification of strategic issues and several studies compiled by Central and Regional Government institutions and BRIN. In its implementation, the South Sumatra Provincial Government has placed regional innovation as a priority agenda in the Regional Long-Term Development Plan, Regional Medium-Term Development Plan, and Annual Regional Government Work Plan. Subsequently, a grand design for regional innovation implementation has been produced as a derivative of these strategic plans.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the importance of improving the cost efficiency of oil palm nurseries, as nursery costs directly influence the profitability of plantation companies. The objectives of this study were to determine the nursery cost per seedling of PPKS and Damimas oil palm varieties and to examine whether there were differences in nursery costs between the two varieties. The research was conducted at PT. Abdi Budi Mulia, Teluk Panji Estate, South Labuhanbatu Regency, North Sumatra, Indonesia. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed by analyzing the planned and actual nursery costs during the pre-nursery and main nursery stages. The results showed that the total nursery cost for the PPKS variety was IDR 29,900 per seedling, while the Damimas variety required IDR 32,300 per seedling. The findings indicate that there is a difference in nursery costs between the PPKS and Damimas varieties. The variation in nursery costs was mainly influenced by two factors: the cost of germinated seeds as the initial investment and the success rate of seedling maintenance, as reflected by the thinning-out percentage. These findings provide useful information for plantation companies in selecting oil palm varieties based on nursery cost efficiency.

Abstract

The increasing competition in the beauty industry on TikTok has encouraged companies to utilize Employee-Generated Content (EGC) as an authentic communication strategy to enhance Brand Awareness and consumers' Purchase Intention. This study aims to examine the influence of Employee-Generated Content (EGC) and Brand Awareness on Purchase Intention toward Skintific products on TikTok. This study employed a quantitative approach using a purposive sampling technique involving 101 TikTok users in Bandung City, Indonesia. Data were collected through a five-point Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and multiple linear regression analysis. The findings indicate that both Employee-Generated Content and Brand Awareness have a positive and significant effect on Purchase Intention, both partially and simultaneously. Employee-Generated Content demonstrates a more dominant influence than Brand Awareness. Furthermore, these two variables explain 70.2% of the variance in Purchase Intention. The findings highlight that authentic content created by employees plays a crucial role in strengthening brand awareness and encouraging consumers' purchase intention toward Skintific products on TikTok. This study contributes to the digital marketing literature by providing empirical evidence on the effectiveness of Employee-Generated Content as a credible communication strategy in the beauty industry.

Abstract

IDX Energy's movement on the Indonesian Stock Exchange is an important reflection of the health of the national energy industry amidst global market volatility. This research aims to analyze the influence of the Rupiah Exchange Rate, IHSG, and Bond Yield on IDX Energy, as well as testing the role of World Coal Prices as a moderating variable. The data used is monthly time series data throughout the 2021–2025 observation period with a total of 60 observations. The econometric analysis framework integrates ECM and MRA approaches that have passed the diagnostic test qualifications of classical assumptions and Engle-Granger cointegration. Short-term estimation results show that only IHSG has a positive and significant influence on energy sector stock returns, which confirms the enactment of mass market behavior. In contrast, the Rupiah Exchange Rate and Bond Yield did not show a significant influence, indicating the structural rigidity of issuers and strong market segmentation in Indonesia. Furthermore, World Coal Prices have proven to fail to act as a moderating variable in all baseline relationships due to the dampening effect of market mechanisms on the monthly horizon. This research recommends short-term investors to focus analysis on aggregate market movements (IHSG) and the issuer's internal performance.

Abstract

Flooding in Pidie Jaya Regency has had significant impacts on the social and economic conditions of the community. Damage to infrastructure, disruption of trade activities, declining business productivity, and reduced household income have become major challenges in the post-disaster recovery process. In this context, rehabilitation focuses not only on physical reconstruction but also on restoring community economic activities through the involvement of multiple stakeholders. This study aims to analyze the implementation of rehabilitation programs and the role of collaborative governance in supporting post-flood economic recovery in Pidie Jaya Regency. The research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation studies involving local government officials, business actors, community organizations, and flood-affected residents. The findings indicate that economic rehabilitation was carried out through the restoration of economic infrastructure, the distribution of social and economic assistance, and the strengthening of community business capacities. Collaborative governance was reflected in the cooperation among local government, the private sector, community organizations, and local communities in planning, implementing, and evaluating recovery programs. Such collaboration accelerated economic recovery and enhanced public participation. However, challenges remain, including limited resources, suboptimal coordination among stakeholders, and issues related to program sustainability. Therefore, stronger synergy and collective commitment are essential to achieving a more effective, inclusive, and sustainable economic recovery.

Abstract

This study examines the reading culture of high-achieving students at senior high schools in Blitar City through Pierre Bourdieu's Cultural Capital theory. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation involving high-achieving students, teachers, and school librarians. The findings reveal that reading culture has been deeply internalized as a personal need rather than merely an academic obligation. The analysis demonstrates the interaction of three forms of cultural capital: objectified capital, represented by physical facilities such as classroom reading corners, school libraries, and access to books; embodied capital, reflected in habitual reading practices developed since early childhood through family socialization and continuous literacy experiences; and institutionalized capital, manifested in academic achievements, competition certificates, and recognition as literacy ambassadors. The sustainability of students' reading culture is strengthened by intrinsic motivation, effective self-regulation, supportive family environments, and the implementation of the School Literacy Movement (GLS). However, digital media distraction remains a significant challenge that affects students' reading consistency and concentration. This study concludes that reading culture is the result of accumulated cultural capital supported by family, school, and individual factors, and it significantly contributes to academic achievement, critical thinking skills, lifelong learning habits, and the development of a sustainable literacy culture in schools.
