Abstract

Corruption is one of the most serious challenges in governance and business, especially in developing countries like Indonesia. The impact is not only limited to the state's financial losses, but also undermines public confidence and hampers socio-economic stability. This study aims to systematically examine how corruption impacts governance, public trust, and economic stability through the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The literature was collected from various databases of leading international journals, applying strict inclusion and exclusion criteria to ensure the relevance and quality of the empirical evidence. The synthesis results show that corruption hurts public policy effectiveness, reduces resource allocation efficiency, and deepens social inequality. The study also found that weak supervision, low transparency, and overlapping regulations are the root of problems in governance, especially in the State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) sector. Thus, eradicating corruption and improving sustainable governance are key to rebuilding public trust and supporting inclusive economic development. These findings are expected to make a conceptual contribution to the development of anti-corruption policies in developing countries.

Abstract

This study examines the direct and indirect effects of competency-based training (CBT) on early childhood learning outcomes, mediated by the pedagogical competence of early childhood education (PAUD) teachers in Semarang Regency. Using a quantitative explanatory research design with a cross-sectional survey, data were collected from 153 PAUD teachers and their students through validated questionnaires and documentation. Findings indicate that CBT positively and significantly influences both early childhood learning outcomes and teachers' pedagogical competence. Furthermore, pedagogical competence also significantly influences children's learning outcomes. Most importantly, this study demonstrates that pedagogical competence acts as a significant mediator in the relationship between CBT and early childhood learning outcomes. These results underscore the importance of structured and ongoing professional development for PAUD teachers to enhance their pedagogical skills, which in turn is crucial for improving the quality of early childhood education.

Abstract

Learning motivation refers to the internal drive that initiates and sustains students' engagement in the learning process. This study aims to explore the level of learning motivation among 11th-grade students in the Creative Products and Entrepreneurship course (locally known as PKK) at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Semarang, Indonesia. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed, using a questionnaire based on Keller’s ARCS motivation model (Attention, Relevance, Confidence, Satisfaction). The sample consisted of 49 students selected through random sampling. Descriptive analysis revealed that students' overall learning motivation was in the high category, with an average score of 80.1 out of 100. Among the four ARCS components, Satisfaction received the highest mean score, while Attention was the lowest. These findings suggest that while students generally feel positive and satisfied with the learning experience, strategies to better capture and maintain their attention should be strengthened. The study highlights the importance of motivational design in vocational education to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
