Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to determine the characteristics of the PABMMSB instrument. Comprising seven task types and assessment rubrics measuring communication skills across four indicators. Employing a Mixed Methods Exploratory Sequential: Instrument development model with purposive sampling, the study involved 39 prospective physics teacher students. Data was obtained from 5 types of assignments that were selected and then assessed by seven raters and the result was that IKK01 did not meet the ZStd score criteria with a value of -2.2. However, because the MnSq (0.82) and PtMea (0.59) values have met the criteria, the ZStd value can be ignored and IKK01 is still declared valid, and for IKK02, IKK03, and IKK04 all have met the criteria and all indicators tested have met the criteria and are declared valid to measure communication skills. Apart from that, a reliability value of 0.87 was obtained and was included in the Very Good criteria. Keywords: characteristics, performance assessment, multiple intelligences, communication skills, rasch model, facet. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik instrumen PABMMSB. Abstract

This study was motivated by students' challenges in understanding learning concepts in food chain material, which is often considered abstract and filled with new terms that are difficult to understand. Difficulties in distinguishing the roles of producers, consumers, and decomposers, as well as remembering the flow of the food chain, are the main obstacles for students. The objective of this study is to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of the E-Lintar Mobile App with integrated songs as an interactive, engaging, effective, and enjoyable learning medium that can enhance students' understanding of the taught material, thereby improving learning outcomes. This study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model, with 30 fifth-grade students as the subjects. Data collection was conducted through tests and non-tests, then analyzed using normality tests, t-tests, and N-Gain calculations. The results showed that this application is highly feasible for use, with a feasibility rating of 95% from subject matter experts, 94% from media experts, 98.75% from teachers, and 96.09% from students. The effectiveness of the application was proven through a t-test on a small group with a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, while on a large group with a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, the results showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest results. The N-Gain test results for the small group were 0.7207, categorized as high, while the large group achieved 0.7518, also categorized as high. Abstract

The abstract concept of energy transformation is a subject in the natural and social sciences that students frequently find difficult to comprehend. Conventional learning methods are less effective in enabling students to actively engage in the learning process and visualize energy transformation concepts. Consequently, students encounter challenges in comprehending the energy transformation process, the relationship between energy, and examples of objects. The goal of this study is to evaluate how effective problem-based learning, which includes PhET simulations, gamified quizzes, and songs, is in helping fourth-grade students at SD Negeri Losari better understand energy transformation concepts. The quasi-experimental method was employed in this study, with a nonequivalent control-group design. The experimental class IV A consisted of 21 students, while the control class IV B had 20 students. The total number of students in the sample was 41. The total sampling technique was employed in conjunction with nonprobability sampling. Teaching was conducted in the experimental class (IVA) through PhET simulation, gamification, problem-based learning, and melodies. In contrast, the control group (IV B) implemented conventional teaching methods in conjunction with instructional videos. The independent sample t-test and N-Gain test were the methods of statistical analysis. A significant improvement in learning outcomes was confirmed by the independent t-test, which yielded a p-value of less than 0.05. In contrast to the control class, which achieved an average N-Gain score of 0.2678 (low), the experiment class achieved an average N-Gain score of 0.6655 (moderate). This finding suggests that the conceptual comprehension of energy transformation is enhanced through the incorporation of gamified quizzes, songs, PhET simulations, and problem-based learning.    Keywords: PhET simulations, problem-based learning, song, quizzez, energy transformation.

Abstract

Mathematical Problem-Solving Ability (MPSA) is a crucial skill in mathematics learning, as it plays a role in understanding mathematical concepts and preparing students to face challenges in everyday life. This study aims to examine the heterogeneous influence of affective aspects such as self-efficacy (SE), self-regulated learning (SRL), self-concept (SC), and mathematical disposition (MD) on students' mathematical problem-solving ability (MPSA) through a systematic literature review. Data were collected from research articles published between 2019 and 2024, indexed in SINTA and Scopus, following the PRISMA guidelines. The analysis results indicate that SE has the strongest correlation with MPSA, followed by MD. Variability in SC highlights a context-dependent influence. This study also provides a comprehensive mapping related to publication years, sample sizes, educational levels, and research locations, showing trends in the variation of publications each year. These findings emphasize that educational interventions should integrate affective aspects of MPSA holistically, with strategies tailored to different educational levels and regional disparities. Therefore, recommendations for future research include developing more holistic learning strategies that integrate all four affective aspects to achieve better learning outcomes.      Keywords: mathematical problem-solving ability, self-efficacy, self-regulated learning, self-concept, mathematical disposition, systematic literature review.
