Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to describe the steps for planning a project-based learning (PjBL) model in teaching Mathematics in grade X in the global context of Globalization and Sustainability and describe how students' mathematical reasoning abilities are after experiencing learning using the PjBL model. The type of research used in this research is design research. In this study, researchers designed a hypothetical learning trajectory (HLT) to teach Mathematics using the PjBL model in the context of planning to build a house. The stages of the research carried out were making the initial design, conducting design trials, and conducting retrospective analysis. The research subjects were six grade X students of private high schools in Yogyakarta who used the IB (International Baccalaureate) curriculum. The data collection instruments used by the researcher were field note sheets, written test sheets in the form of worksheets containing project questions, and structured interview sheets. From this study, the results obtained were that five students were able to use mathematical reasoning to complete the construction planning project of a house. Four students have been able to check the correctness of the solution and make conclusions. Keywords: globalization and sustainability, project-based learning, mathematical reasoning, project-based learning, house building projects. Abstrak: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan langkah-langkah merencanakan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek dalam pembelajaran Matematika di kelas X pada konteks global Globalization and Sustainability dan mendeskripsikan bagaimana kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa setelah mengalami pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model PjBL. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian desain (design research). Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti mendesain hypothetical learning trajectory (HLT) untuk membelajarkan Matematika menggunakan model PjBL dengan konteks merencanakan pembangunan sebuah rumah. Tahap-tahap penelitian yang dilakukan adalah membuat desain awal, melakukan uji coba desain serta melakukan analisis retrospektif. Subjek penelitian adalah enam siswa kelas X SMA swasta di Yogyakarta yang menggunakan kurikulum IB (International Baccalaureate). Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan peneliti adalah lembar catatan lapangan, lembar tes tertulis yang berupa lembar kerja yang berisi pertanyaan proyek, dan lembar wawancara terstruktur. Dari penelitian ini, diperoleh hasil bahwa lima siswa sudah mampu menggunakan penalaran matematis untuk menyelesaikan pembuatan proyek perencanaan pembangunan sebuah rumah. Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of web-based problem-solving learning integrated with PhET simulations in enhancing students' conceptual understanding and motivation on the topic of electrical circuits. Utilizing a quasi-experimental method, the study involved 30 students from a private university in Palembang who engaged in web-based instruction supported by interactive simulations and contextual problem-solving activities. Data were collected through a learning style questionnaire, a concept understanding test, and a motivation questionnaire administered via Google Forms. The results revealed a significant increase in students' post-test scores across five indicators of conceptual understanding electric current, potential difference, resistance, Ohm's Law, and circuit configuration with N-Gain values ranging from moderate to high. Notably, students with auditory and kinesthetic learning styles showed slightly higher gains. Learning motivation also demonstrated a very high category, with 88% of students indicating strong interest and persistence in the learning process. The integration of web-based platforms and PhET simulations not only facilitated flexible and personalized learning experiences but also supported students' engagement, exploration, and self-regulation. These findings highlight the potential of technology-enhanced science instruction to bridge cognitive and affective learning domains, making it a valuable approach for future pedagogical innovations in physics education.     Keywords: web-based learning, conceptual understanding, learning motivation.

Abstract

Abstract: This research is motivated by the low level of mathematical connection ability, even though it is an important ability, also the need of teaching materials for students. In arranging teaching materials, brain management and mind mapping are used so that to help improve students' mathematical connection abilities. This research aims to develop modules based on brain management and mind mapping in plane geometry courses. The type of research used was research and development with ADDIE model. From the research that been conducted, it can be concluded that module is very valid with 91% validity from both material and media aspects, also effective as an individual learning material and for improving students’ mathematical connections in Geometry Plane Course. Keywords: mathematical connection, brain management, mind mapping, module. Abstrak: Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan koneksi matematis sekalipun itu adalah kemampuan yang penting, serta adanya kebutuhan bahan ajar bagi mahasiswa. Dalam penyusunan bahan ajar digunakan manajemen otak dan mind mapping agar dapat membantu meningkatkan kemampuan koneksi matematis mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul berbasis manajemen otak dan mind mapping pada mata kuliah geometri bidang. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan model ADDIE. Abstract

Abstract: The Development of STEM-based Physics e-Workbook with Project-based Learning Activities. Objective: There are various media that are effective in helping students understand learning material at school but teachers have not used them optimally. This study aims to develop digital workbooks with a feasible and effective project-based learning approach in physics subjects. Methods: This development uses the ADDIE model which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The product feasibility test was carried out through the assessment of media experts, material experts, and was tested on class VII students at SMPN 1 Bandar Lampung. Findings: The results of the effectiveness test were obtained through the pretest and posttest. The results of the due diligence by material experts and media experts obtained a proportion of reporting rates of 85.71% and 95.45% so that digital workbooks fall into the category of appropriate use. The one-to-one trial shows that digital workbooks are in the very good category with an average proportion of sales rate of 91.66%. In addition, the small group trial also showed an average proportion of the reporting rate of 89.74%, so it was included in the very good category. The results of the effectiveness test by calculating the n-gain score obtained a result of 60.8 so that the digital workbook can be said to be quite effective. Conclusion: Based on these results, it can be interpreted that STEM-based digital Physics workbooks with a project-based learning approach for junior high school students are appropriate and effective for use. Keywords: ADDIE, digital workbook, project-based learning, STEM DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v24i4.pp944-957

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to analysis students ability in solving HOTS based chemistry problems. This research is qualitative research with a case study approach. Data collection was carried out through observation, tests and interviews. The research results show that high-level thinking skills which include the level of analytical skills have an average student achievement of 16.162%, the level of evaluation thinking skills reaches 8.937%, and the level of creative thinking skills reaches a maximum of 14.888%. score 100. Based on the interview results, it is known that students' high-level thinking abilities are relatively low because they are not used to working on HOTS questions. Therefore, it can be concluded that high-level thinking abilities need to continue to be improved, and one way to achieve this is through solving HOTS based chemistry problems. Keywords: higher order thinking, chemistry problems, case study. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan Kimia HOTS (High-Order Thinking Skills). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, tes, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi yang meliputi tingkat keterampilan analisis mempunyai rata-rata pencapaian siswa sebesar 16,162%, tingkat keterampilan berpikir evaluasi mencapai 8,937%, dan tingkat keterampilan berpikir kreatif mencapai maksimal 14,888%. skor 100. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara diketahui bahwa kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa tergolong rendah karena belum terbiasa mengerjakan soal HOTS. Abstract

Abstract: The rapid transformation of the world due to advances in science and technology encourages universities to develop students' meta-skill competencies to adapt to various changes in world work. This research aims to investigate the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) integrated team-based project (TBPj) on the development of undergraduate students’ meta-skills. This study employed a quasi-experimental design using one group pre-test and post-test design with 30 research subjects. Data were collected using a meta-skills instrument in the form of a questionnaire and analyzed using a paired sample t-test. The results revealed a significant difference between the mean meta-skill scores of the students before (M = 37.50, SD = 13.31) and after (M = 86.57, SD = 4.30) the treatment [t(36) = 13.884, p < 0.001; d = 4.20]. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the use of AI integrated with the TBPj model has a high impact on improving undergraduate students' meta-skills. Keywords: artificial intelligence AI, team-based project TBPJ, meta-skills Abstrak: Cepatnya transformasi dunia akibat kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi mendorong perguruan tinggi untuk mengembangkan kompetensi meta-skills mahasiswa agar lebih adaptif terhadap berbagai perubahan dunia kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan artificial intelligence (AI) terintegrasi team-based project (TBPj) terhadap pengembangan meta-skills mahasiswa. Studi ini adalah quasi eksperimen menggunakan rancangan one group pre-test and post-test design dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 30 orang. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan instrument meta-skills berbentuk kuisioner dan dianalisis menggunakan uji statistic paired sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan antara rata-rata skor meta-skills mahasiswa sebelum (M = 37.50, SD = 13.31) dan setelah (M = 86.57, SD = 4.30) perlakuan [t(36) = 13.884, p <0.001; d = 4,20]. Abstract

Abstract: Augmented reality is a learning media developed massively and utilized by educators to visualize abstract science concepts into concrete concepts. This study aims to analyze the validity and practicality of augmented reality-based media development on science matter to enhance science conceptual learning. This research is development research conducted to design products of learning media based augmented reality. The development model used is the Alessi and Trollip development model, which concentrates on augmented reality media development. The stage in this research, namely, planning stage, design stage and development stage. The data analysis technique used a questionnaire instrument and the technical descriptive statistical analysis. The results of this study are: the development of augmented reality-based learning media on water cycle and earth rotation material in the form of consisting of competencies and indicators, picture, sound, materials, and mini test; validity assessment by material experts with an average score of 94.44% in the "very valid" category, the validity assessment by learning media design experts with an average score of 95.83% in the "very valid" category; and the validity assessment by language experts with an average score of 80% in the "valid" category. The other results 95% of teacher responded positively to the questionnaire in the "practice" category. The results of this study indicate that augmented reality-based learning media can be categorized as valid and practice learning media. Keywords: augmented reality, learning media, practicality, validity. Abstrak: Augmented reality menjadi salahsatu media pembelajaran yang telah dikembangkan secara massif dan dimanfaatkan oleh pendidik untuk memvisualisasikan konsep IPA yang abstrak menjadi konsep yang konkret. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis validitas media pembelajaran berbasis augmented reality pada materi siklus air dan rotasi bumi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah model pengembangan dan penelitian oleh Allesi dan Trollip, yang berfokus pada pengembangan media pembelajaran. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan lembar validasi berupa kuesioner dan dianalisis menggunakan statistic. Adapun tahapan dari model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah tahap perencanaan, tahap desain dan tahap pengembangan. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis augmented reality pada materi siklus air dan rotasi bumi terdiri dari kompetensi dasar dan indikator, gambar, suara, materi dan juga kuis, Validasi oleh ahli materi menghasilkan persentase sebesar 94.44% sengan kategori sangat valid, hasil persentase validitas oleh ahli media sebesar 95.83% dengan kategori sangat valid dan validasi oleh ahli bahasa dengan persentase 80% pada kategori valid. Hasil yang lain menunjukkan respon guru sebesar menunjukkan hasil kategori "praktis" category. Abstract

Critical thinking is an essential thinking skill that is still a challenge for students in junior high school. This study examines the effect of a problem-based learning model outside the classroom on critical thinking skills in learning science in elementary school. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The research respondents were fourth-grade students at SDN Ditotrunan 01 Lumajang, East Java, who were divided into experimental and control groups. Students in the experimental group received problem-based learning model learning treatment outside the classroom, while students in the control group received conventional learning. The research instruments included a description test to measure critical thinking skills and an observation sheet to observe student activities during the learning process. The data were analyzed using a t-test and a gain score. The analysis showed a significant difference between critical thinking skills in the experimental and control groups. Learning with a problem-based learning model outside the classroom proved to be more effective in improving critical thinking skills than conventional learning. This study recommends using a problem-based learning model based on environmental learning resources as an alternative strategy for learning science in elementary schools.

Abstract

Abstract: The mistake in problem-solving indicates the presence of the cognitive structure parts, which are problematic. One of the causes is thinking structures that need to be better organized and connected or experience cognitive mistakes. This study aims to describe students' thinking structure mistakes in solving PISA questions and the efforts to correct these mistakes through defragmenting thinking structures. This study uses a qualitative approach. This study uses a qualitative approach, including data reduction, presentation, and conclusion. Based on the results of the study, the mistakes of the students' thinking structures in problem-solving to finish the PISA questions were experienced by all subjects, including students misunderstanding the problem, mistakes in devising a finishing plan, carrying out a finishing plan, and rechecking process. These mistakes are influenced by several reasons, including the need for literacy skills in reading the meaning of the questions, not focusing on essential instructions on the questions, mastery of understanding the concept of prerequisite material, mistakes in operating, and the structured and analysis errors. The defragmenting process is carried out to correct students' thinking structure mistakes in problem-solving through intervention processes including scaffolding-review, scaffolding-restructuring, scaffolding-explaining, cognitive conflict, and dis-equilibration. Keywords: defragmenting, problem, question, structure, solving, thinking Abstrak: Kesalahan dalam pemecahan masalah menunjukkan adanya bagian-bagian struktur kognitif yang bermasalah. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah struktur berpikir yang perlu ditata dan terhubung dengan baik atau mengalami kesalahan berpikir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesalahan struktur berpikir siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal PISA dan upaya memperbaiki kesalahan tersebut melalui defragmentasi struktur berpikir. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Adapun pendekatan kualitatif yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, kesalahan struktur berpikir siswa dalam pemecahan masalah hingga menyelesaikan soal PISA dialami oleh semua mata pelajaran, antara lain siswa salah memahami soal, kesalahan menyusun rencana penyelesaian, melaksanakan rencana penyelesaian, dan proses pengecekan ulang. Kesalahan tersebut dipengaruhi oleh beberapa hal, antara lain perlunya kemampuan literasi dalam membaca makna soal, tidak fokus pada petunjuk esensial soal, penguasaan pemahaman konsep materi prasyarat, kesalahan pengoperasian, serta kesalahan terstruktur dan analisis. Abstract

Abstract: Video tutorials are audio-visual media that can guide practicum activities. Videos can facilitate digital literacy skills, supporting students' skills in using digital technology to access and communicate in practicum activities. The research aims to develop audio-visual media based on video tutorials to support students' digital literacy skills in practicum activities. The type of research is Research and Development (R&D) research using the Borg & Gall model. Data collection techniques include administering questionnaires and pre-post tests. Data analysis used a Likert scale and n-gain test. The research results show that the product was developed during water pollution activities. Validation results with very good interpretation. Student responses to video tutorials can provide an overview of students' digital literacy abilities accompanied by high n-gain values for each indicator. Thus, developing audio-visual media based on video tutorials can strategically support students' digital literacy skills in practicum activities. Keywords: audio-visual media, video tutorials, practicum activities, digital literacy. Abstrak: Video tutorial merupakan media audio-visual yang dapat menjadi penuntun kegiatan praktikum. Penggunaan video dapat memfasilitasi kemampuan literasi digital yang dapat mendukung keterampilan mahasiswa dalam penggunaan teknologi digital untuk mengakses dan berkomunikasi dalam kegiatan praktikum. Tujuan penelitian yaitu mengembangan media audio-visual berbasis video tutorial untuk menunjang kemampuan literasi digital mahasiswa pada kegiatan praktikum. Jenis penelitian yaitu penelitian Research and Development (R&D) menggunakan model Borg & Gall. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa pemberian angket dan tes awal-akhir. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan skala likert dan n-gain test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produk dikembangkan pada kegiatan praktikum pencemaran air. Hasil validasi dengan interpretasi sangat baik. Respon mahasiswa pada video tutorial dapat memberikan gambaran tentang kemampuan literasi digital mahasiswa disertai nilai n-gain tinggi pada tiap indikator.
