The analysis discussed several important points on geometry material, including sub-chapter, chapter content, and the presentation of practice questions. Findings: The results show that 66.36% of questions in the Indonesian textbook asked about knowing, 24.54% applying, and 0.09% reasoning. In the Malaysian textbook, 71.42% of questions asked focused knowing, 23.8% applying, and 4.76% reasoning. Furthermore, 49.6% of questions in the Chinese textbooks asked about knowing, 30.4% applying, and 20% reasoning. Conclusions: questions on knowing had the highest percentage in the Indonesian and Malaysian textbooks but balanced in Chinese. Keywords: mathematics, geometry, indonesian, malaysian, Chinese.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v12.i1.202210

How Elementary School Teachers Integrate Technology in Social Studies Learning during the COVID-19 Pandemic? Objectives: This study aims to find out how elementary school teachers integrate technology in social studies learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This study uses a phenomenological approach, then interviews and documentations are used to collect the data. There are 6 elementary school teachers who participate in this study from Yogyakarta, East Java and Bangka Belitung. Data analysis: The data required are analyzed using qualitative data analysis techniques. Findings: This study finds out that teachers use technology as the main element in distance learning; synchronous learning using zoom; asynchronous learning using WhatsApp, google form, google classroom, Quizizz, YouTube; and the combination of both; obstacles that are often faced include technical constraints, economic capacity problems, and human error. Conclusion: There are still many obstacles faced by teachers and students regarding the use of technology in social studies learning. Keywords: elementary school teachers, integrate technology, social studies, COVID-19 pandemicDOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v12.i1.202201

Abstract

This study investigated the factors influencing the science teaching efficacy of Filipino science teachers. A correlational research design was employed to collect the data from 261 Filipino science teachers using adapted and validated research instrument, encoded and administered via web-based program. The results uncovered that student technology use, 21st century learning attitudes, and teacher leadership attitudes are not significant predictors of science teaching efficacy.  The teaching outcome expectancy beliefs, STEM instruction, and STEM career awareness, however, can significantly explain the variation in the science teaching efficacy of the respondents. This indicates that teacher actions in science classroom, their pedagogical practices, and their awareness to STEM-fields should be considered in crafting capacity building program for science teachers. These factors are crucial in enhancing of teacher quality of science educators, thereby, uplifting the quality of science education in the country. Keywords: science teaching efficacy, stem career awareness, stem instruction, teaching outcome expectancy beliefs.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v12.i1.202203

Abstract

Development of Local Wisdom-Based Blended Learning Programs to Improve Students' Learning Outcomes and Communication Skills. Objectives: This study aimed to develop a blended learning program based on local wisdom for improving students' learning outcomes and communication skills. Methods: This development research was adapted from Dick and Carey, namely ADDIE. This study used data analysis techniques to convert quantitative data to qualitative data. Findings: All developed products got a score in valid category and practically category. The learning outcomes in the cognitive domain can be seen from the N-gain value of 0.71; it is enough effective category. The learning outcomes of the affective domains achieved the KKM score of 84% and the students who were incomplete of 16%. Students' communication skills average percentage scores on indicators of voice clarity 81%, writing clarity 74%, grammar 75%, performance 73%, expression 79%, and gestures 81%. Conclusion: The results of blended learning programs based on local wisdom can improve students’ learning outcomes and communication skills. Keywords: development, blended learning, local wisdom, learning outcomes, communication skills.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v12.i1.202226

Abstract

Do Health and Safety, Readiness and Preparedness, and Support and Opportunities Predict Teaching Motivation? Objectives: The study determined the relationship of three motivational factors (Health and Safety; Readiness and Preparedness in Distance Learning; and Support and Opportunities) to the teaching motivation in the new normal of junior high school teachers. Methods: Regression analysis was used to measure the significant relationships among the three motivational factors and teaching motivation of 204 (34% male and 66% female) respondents who answered the online survey. Findings: The motivational factors such as health and safety (????=0.258; p-value=0.003) and readiness and preparedness in distance learning (????=0.217; p-value=0.024) revealed that these are significant predictors of teaching motivation. Conclusion: Even though the three motivational factors have a direct positive relationship to teachers’ level of motivation, it was revealed that the health and safety motivational factors result in the highest need of emphasis to level up a teacher's motivation to continue teaching. Keywords: teaching motivation, teachers’ motivational factors, health and safety, distance learning, support and opportunities.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v12.i1.202208

Science Teacher's Perception of Digital Technology-Based Learning in the 21st Century. Objective: The research aims to identify science teachers' perceptions of digital technology-based learning in the 21st century. Method: This type of research is survey research. Perception data was collected through questionnaires and interviews of 30 science teachers in West Sumatra. Data analysis uses descriptive analysis. Findings: It was found that the main components determining the success of digital technology-based science learning are competence, effort, and teacher commitment. Teachers are greatly helped to prepare learning plans, choose teaching materials and media, carry out learning, and evaluate with digital technology. This affects the student's learning process and outcomes. Students feel interested, excited, and enthusiastic. Conclusion: 21st-century skills can be trained through learning based on digital technology. These findings can serve as a basis in determining the models and media of science learning based on digital technology in the 21st century. Keywords: perception, digital technology, 21st-century skills.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v12.i1.202222

Methods: This study used a quantitative approach and a survey method with a descriptive research design. Findings: The findings of the study showed 62.5% of the students felt anxious in foreign language level sequenced from mildly anxious, anxious, and very anxious. Students’ dominant kind of foreign language anxiety was fear of negative evaluation. Finally, more than half of the students had negative attitudes toward English class. Meanwhile, the rest of the students showed positive attitude. Conclusion: In conclusion, most of the students feel anxious in English class. They mostly experience anxiety due to the negative evaluation, and their attitudes toward English class could not completely determine their foreign language anxiety level. Keywords: foreign language anxiety, English classroom, students’ attitudes.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v12.i1.202213
