Abstract

Improved mastery of French Grammar through Inquiry Model on Third Semester Students of French Departement of Unila. As grammar is important, an appropriate learning model allowing to increase student’s mastery in grammar is needed. Inquiry models can not only involve learners maximally in the learning process, because they are placed as subjects in it, but this discovery-oriented method also trains participants to develop their intellectual mentality by finding themselves, in this context, the rules of grammar they learn so they can understand and remember better.  Keywords: language teaching, French grammar, inquiry model, discovery learningDOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v7.i2.201701

Abstract

Using CIPP Model to evaluate the effectiveness of flexible learning implementation in Satya Wacana Christian University. Purpose: This study aims to assess the effectiveness of flexible learning-based learning at the university level. Method: The research approach uses a mixed method with a sequential explanatory model. The quantitative method is used in the first stage then the qualitative method is used in the second stage. The research subjects were 19 lecturers and 150 students and 1 head of the Bureau of Technology and Information Systems (BTSI) who manages f-learn. The qualitative of the data was obtained through interviews and document study analyzed using Miles and Huberman's model. Quantitative data obtained from numbers with descriptive analysis. Findings: The results showed that the evaluation of context aspects of learning-based f-learn was in the very good category, the evaluation of input aspects was in the good category, the evaluation of process aspects was in the good category, and the evaluation of product aspects was in the good category. Conclusion: Thus, f-learn-based learning has an impact on increasing students' and lecturers' knowledge and mastery of information technology. The drawback is that it needs improvement for the quality of the internet network for each student, which is different. Keywords: cipp model, effectiveness, evaluation, learning, online.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v13.i2.202310

Abstract

Code-Switching in EFL Classrooms: Typology and Communicative Roles. The purpose of this study was to look into the types and functions of code-switching that are used in an EFL teacher classroom interactions. The teacher’s interactions in this qualitative study were observed, recorded and subsequently transcribed. A multi-step analytical procedure that included data reduction, data visualization, and drawing/verifying findings was carried out. The findings showed that the teacher used three different types of as well as six functions of code-switching during interactions in the classroom. The types include tag switching (12), intra-sentential switching (37), and inter-sentential switching (62). Besides, the researcher found that the code-switching used by the teacher has the referential function (2), the directive function (31), the expressive function (20), the phatic function (18), the metalinguistic function (26) times, and poetic function (3). In conclusion, the use of code-switching in class interactions can help students’ comprehension and engagement in English language learning while considering the students level. Keywords: code-switching, function, type, interactionDOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v13.i3.202310

Entrepreneurship is a science that can be learned, and educational institutions have a role in increasing the number of entrepreneurs. This study aims to find out the relationship between entrepreneurial education and attitude, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, and entrepreneurial intention. The population of this research was university students at Widyatama University, and the sampling method used was purposive sampling. A total of 96 cases were analyzed. The data for the current study were obtained from students who had been and were taking entrepreneurship education. In order to test the validity, reliability, and hypothesis, the SPSS model was used. The results show that attitude has a significant influence on entrepreneurial intention. Another finding shows that entrepreneurial self-efficacy has a significant influence on entrepreneurial intention. Also, the results surprisingly found that entrepreneurship education does not have a significant effect on entrepreneurial intention. After all, this study provides theoretical and managerial contributions to the literature. Keywords: entrepreneurial education, attitude, self efficacy, entrepreneurial intention.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v11.i3.202115

Abstract

Creative Thinking Profile of Elementary Students in Solving Mathematics Problems. Objective: This research aimed to describe creative thinking profile of elementary school students and identified factors that influence students' creative thinking abilities in solving mathematical story problems. Methods: This research used a quantitative descriptive study to analyze students' creative thinking abilities in solving mathematical story problems on the composition and decomposition of whole numbers.   The subjects of this research were 25 fifth grade students at SD Negeri Prembulan, Galur, Kulon Progo. The data collection techniques used in this research were tests, interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, the main instrument used in this study was a creative thinking test. Findings: The results of this research showed that the creative thinking ability of fifth grade students at SD Negeri Prembulan is still in the medium category with an average score is 6,12 out of 12 or 51% with the majority students at medium level (36%). The majority of students were still in the low category in the aspects of elaboration, fluency and originality. Meanwhile, in the elaboration aspect, the majority of students were in the medium category. From that, the most prominent aspect of creative thinking among student was the elaboration aspect, while the lowest was the originality aspect. The factors that influence students’ creative thinking abilities are lack of effort, lack of confidence on solving math problems, lack of ability, and not being used to working on open-ended questions that explore students' ideas. Conclusion: The study concluded that the students’ creative thinking ability were still in the medium category. Students’ creative thinking abilities still needed to be improved through more creative and innovative learning that is oriented towards fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration aspects. Keywords: creative thinking ability, whole numbers, mathematics, elementary students.

Abstract

Exploring The Effectiveness of Digital Learning Platforms for Improving Financial Skills: The Case of YouTube. Objective: YouTube is a digital platform that can be used for formal and informal education. Very little research still reveals the use of YouTube as a learning resource in schools for financial management material. Therefore, this research aims to explore using YouTube as a digital learning resource for improving financial ability. Methods: This research uses qualitative and quantitative methods with descriptive statistics. The subjects in this research were teachers and students. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires and interviews to gain a comprehensive understanding of user perceptions and learning outcomes. Findings: Research found that 84% of respondents agreed to use YouTube as a digital learning resource in learning Financial Management material, and 77% believe they can learn more by watching subject-related videos on YouTube than by reading books. In addition, students' responses strongly agreed with using YouTube as a digital learning resource for learning financial management. YouTube stores material in long-term memory, making it easier for students to review the material, so that student understanding increases. The visual and auditory elements of YouTube videos enhance engagement and retention. YouTube is also effective as a digital learning platform for improving financial skills. Teachers also acknowledged that YouTube helps make abstract financial concepts more concrete through visual explanations. Conclusion: So, YouTube has the potential to become an effective digital platform used for learning, particularly in improving students' financial skills. The accessibility, diversity of content, and user-friendly nature of YouTube make it a valuable supplement to traditional learning resources in the digital age. Future research is recommended to explore the long-term impacts of YouTube-based learning on students' financial behaviour. Keywords: digital learning platform, financial ability, youtube.
