Abstract

Indonesia, the world’s largest multicultural country, exhibits high cultural, ethnic, religious, and social diversity. This diversity is a gift as well as a major challenge that must be managed wisely so as not to trigger social conflict. This article discusses the importance of multicultural education as a strategic solution to strengthen peace, justice, unity, democracy, tolerance, and religiosity amidst the nation's diversity. Through a qualitative descriptive approach based on literature studies, data are analyzed using content analysis to identify, understand, and examine the main themes surrounding multicultural education, tolerance, democracy, appreciation for diversity, and reconstruction of national culture. The results of the study show that multicultural education can foster an attitude of mutual respect, respect for differences, and develop an inclusive national identity. The implementation of Pancasila Education with a multicultural perspective is a fundamental effort in building awareness of diversity as a national strength. Multicultural education needs to be instilled from an early age through the national education system to build a peaceful, just, and civilized society amidst the plurality of Indonesian culture.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at SMPN 1 Buduran from the perspectives of teachers and students. Aiming to foster contextual, flexible, and student-centered learning, the research utilized a descriptive qualitative approach, gathering data through interviews with 10 teachers and 32 students, classroom observations, and school document analysis. The findings show that 80% of teachers appreciate the curriculum's flexibility in designing learning tailored to student needs, while 70% have successfully integrated project-based learning and group discussions. However, 60% still face challenges in creating authentic assessments aligned with the curriculum's principles. From the students' viewpoint, 65% report feeling more engaged in their learning, yet 50% struggle to understand material independently without direct teacher guidance. Key obstacles include limited facilities, unstable internet access, and inadequate technological resources. The principal stresses the need for further teacher training, particularly in competency-based assessments. In summary, while the Merdeka Curriculum's implementation at SMPN 1 Buduran demonstrates progress in enhancing participation and flexibility, addressing facility improvements and strengthening teacher capacity is essential for achieving its full potential.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the effectiveness of the Index Card Match and Learning Station Rotation learning models on students' learning outcomes in Pancasila Education, specifically concerning the topic of Practicing Pancasila Values in Daily Life. The subjects of this study were 30 sixth-grade students at SDN Cipondoh Makmur. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observation, achievement tests, and document analysis. Each learning model was implemented over two meetings with different treatments. The observation results indicated that both models increased student engagement, although the Learning Station Rotation model created a more varied and collaborative learning atmosphere. The achievement test results showed that students taught using the Learning Station Rotation model had a higher average score (86.2) compared to those trained with the Index Card Match model (80.4). Although the difference was not statistically significant, the findings suggest that the Learning Station Rotation model tends to be more effective in enhancing students’ conceptual understanding and learning motivation. Therefore, both models can serve as alternative active learning strategies that are relevant to Pancasila Education in primary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of technology-based learning media in improving the quality of the teaching and learning process and student learning outcomes at SDN Kunciran 3. In the context of 21st-century education, integrating technology into learning activities is a necessity for creating an interactive, enjoyable, and relevant learning environment. The research method used is a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental approach, involving two groups of fifth-grade students: an experimental group that uses technology-based learning media such as interactive videos, educational applications, and digital quizzes; and a control group that uses conventional methods in the form of lectures and textbooks. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests to measure improvements in learning outcomes, as well as questionnaires to assess student motivation and responses to the learning media used. The results showed that students in the experimental group experienced a significant increase in learning outcomes compared to the control group, with an increase in learning motivation that was also higher. This study concludes that the use of technology-based learning media has a positive impact on learning effectiveness, especially in improving understanding of the material, active student involvement, and interest in learning. Therefore, technology integration in learning at the elementary school level is highly recommended to support a more modern and adaptive educational transformation.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of parents in addressing the impact of gadget use on the social development of children aged 3–4 years. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the study was conducted in Kampung Masjid RT02/RW03, Ciputat District, South Tangerang City. Data were collected through observation and semi-structured interviews with two parents. The findings indicate that parents are aware of the importance of accompanying and supervising their children's gadget use. Although the children showed early signs of dependency on gadgets, parents attempted to address this by limiting screen time and offering alternative educational and social activities. Uncontrolled gadget use can hinder children's social interaction, but with proper supervision, it may enhance language and communication skills. The study concludes that active parental involvement is essential to ensure that gadget use does not impede the social development of early childhood.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of a technology-based curriculum in biology education, as well as to evaluate its impacts, challenges, and the role of teachers in the process. A descriptive qualitative method was employed through a literature review of 8 accredited journals and conference proceedings published within the last 5 years. The results indicate that technologies such as Learning Management Systems (LMS), interactive media, augmented reality, virtual laboratories, and artificial intelligence (AI) are effective in enhancing students’ understanding of abstract biological concepts, motivation to learn, and 21st-century skills. Teachers play crucial roles as facilitators, motivators, innovators, and character builders in integrating technology into teaching. However, challenges such as limited infrastructure and insufficient teacher training remain significant obstacles. The contribution of this study lies in its structured mapping of technology-based curriculum practices in biology learning, along with concrete recommendations for educational practitioners. The findings have implications for the development of policies and strategies to improve the quality of digital-based biology education sustainably.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically examine the application of the ethnoscience approach in chemistry education and its contribution to enhancing students' critical thinking skills. A Systematic Literature Review was conducted on 16 selected articles published between 2021 and 2025. The analysis reveals that integrating local wisdom into chemistry learning encourages active student engagement in understanding scientific concepts within contextual frameworks. Learning becomes more meaningful when students actively explore traditional knowledge relevant to chemical concepts. This approach has been demonstrated to enhance various aspects of critical thinking, including problem-solving skills, curiosity, and argumentative abilities. Approximately 81% of the reviewed studies reported significant improvements in students' essential thinking indicators following the implementation of the ethnoscience approach. These findings indicate that ethnoscience is an effective instructional strategy for simultaneously fostering conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills in chemistry education.

Abstract

This study examined the managerial innovations of the madrasah principal at MIS Miftahul Hasanah Muhammadiyah Songing to improve learning quality. Using a qualitative–descriptive design, data were gathered through interviews, classroom observations, and documentation, and analyzed using thematic analysis with source triangulation. The findings showed that managerial innovations were realised through collaborative work planning, effective communication, discipline modelling, and teacher capacity-building via Teachers’ Working Groups (KKG), training, facility provision, and follow-up supervisory coaching. However, challenges remained in optimizing instructional delivery and resource use, particularly due to limited ICT support. The study concluded that effective managerial leadership is crucial for aligning goals, enhancing teacher competence, and improving the learning environment. Sustaining gains requires more consistent implementation alongside targeted infrastructure support.
