Abstract

The phenomenon of declining learning discipline, the tendency to depend on instant learning resources, and the gap in students' ability to manage independent learning strategies are important concerns in the university environment. These challenges are increasingly complex in the era of digital independent learning, where students are required to be able to manage time, filter digital information, and maintain motivation to learn in the midst of various technological distractions. This condition is strengthened by the fact that there is still a variety of family support that affects students' mental and academic readiness, including the support of technology facilities and the strengthening of emotional factors. This situation shows the urgency of research on internal and external factors that affect learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze the influence of learning independence and family support on student learning outcomes. The research approach used was quantitative with an explanatory design, involving 100 students through convenience sampling. The analysis includes descriptive statistics, validity tests, reliability tests, and multiple linear regressions. The results showed that learning independence and family support had a significant positive effect on learning outcomes, with learning independence as the most dominant variable. These findings emphasize the need to strengthen learning programs that encourage academic independence, digital literacy, and family collaboration to support student development in a technology-based learning environment.

Abstract

Now education has been recognized as having a major role as social and moral capital and ensuring the improvement of the quality of life of future generations. Therefore, it is important to encourage positive experiences in educational classrooms. The educational environment is one of the contexts that most affect the culture and character of students. For this reason, this study intends to analyze and understand the role of character education in shaping the discipline and learning outcomes of MTs students. There were 123 respondents who came from MTs students and were selected using the purposive sampling technique. Data collection is carried out through the distribution of questionnaires and documentation of student learning outcomes. The data analysis in this study uses multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The results of the study show that character education associated with discipline has a positive and significant influence. Character education is also related to learning outcomes having a positive and significant influence. Students who have the character of discipline, responsibility, honesty, and care for the learning environment tend to show better learning behavior so that it has an impact on improving learning outcomes. Overall, character education has a positive influence on MTs students in forming discipline attitudes, increasing learning motivation, and supporting students' academic achievements. Thus, the implementation of character education needs to continue to be strengthened through learning, teacher examples, and a conducive school culture to create a generation with character and achievement.

Abstract

The governance of public elementary schools (SDN) in regions dominated by pesantren culture faces institutional pressures that differ from those of public elementary schools in general; however, the patterns of adaptation have not been extensively studied empirically. This study analyzes the transformation of governance at SDN Potoan Daja, Pamekasan, Madura, through the lens of hybrid educational governance. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed; data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured in-depth interviews, and document analysis involving the school principal, teachers, the school committee, parents, community leaders, pesantren figures, and village officials during the period of April–October 2025. Analysis was conducted interactively using data reduction, thematic categorization, and continuous field verification. The research findings indicate that the governance of SDN Potoan Daja has evolved through a fusion of the state’s formal bureaucratic system and the pesantren’s socio-cultural mechanisms. The integration of religious activities into school culture, the involvement of pesantren leaders in decision-making, and the strengthening of participatory relationships between the school and the community have proven to build social legitimacy that cannot be achieved through formal regulations alone. The low level of community interest in public elementary schools is not due to a rejection of formal education, but rather concerns about the loss of religious values. When public elementary schools integrate pesantren culture into their governance, community trust increases. This study confirms that a hybrid educational governance perspective is more appropriate for understanding the dynamics of primary education governance in religious areas than a formal bureaucratic approach. These findings contribute to the development of a community-based education governance model and serve as a reference for SDN management policies in areas with a pesantren context.

Abstract

The withdrawal of Indonesia's Literature in Curriculum guidebook (Keputusan Mendikbudristek No. 025/H/P/2024) following controversy over explicit content exposes a structural gap: the absence of a linguistically grounded, replicable instrument for vetting literary texts — a gap most consequential for Islamic prophetic literature, which dominates Indonesian public readership yet remains vulnerable to dogmatic misreading when its Arabic-rooted diction is taken at face value. Using an Exploratory Sequential Design, this study applied Jost Trier's Semantic Field Theory and Eugene Nida's Componential Analysis, framed by Kuntowijoyo's Prophetic Literature philosophy, to corpora by Asma Nadia, Habiburrahman El Shirazy, and Lusi Rahmalia; from 312 extracted lexemes, 60 purposive tokens meeting dual inclusion thresholds (frequency ≥ 3; verified contextual deviation from KBBI) were subjected to componential analysis, with inter-rater reliability established through double independent coding (Cohen's κ = 0.84). Islamic diction was found to distribute non-randomly into three semantic fields — exoteric worship, esoteric affection, and socio-liberative relations — each mapping to one of Kuntowijoyo's prophetic pillars; most radically, the re-semantization of jihad suppressed the feature [+Militaristic] while injecting [+Feminist Liberative Agency] and [+Intellectuality], restoring the root jahada to its emancipatory etymology, while componential analysis further identified four categories of semantic-register deviation in a negative comparison corpus, demonstrating its diagnostic utility beyond ideological analysis. These findings establish componential semantic mapping as an objective, reproducible curation standard for prophetic literature in national curricula, operationalised through an ADDIE-based interactive e-book prototype that functions as a classroom close-reading instrument for context-sensitive literary education in Indonesia.

Abstract

The appreciation of classical literature, specifically hikayat texts, often faces a pedagogical impasse due to the dominance of conventional lecture methods, which induce student passivity, erode intrinsic motivation, and cause cognitive overload. This descriptive qualitative study aims to describe the operational process and impact of integrating Quizizz, a digital gamification platform, with a Discovery Learning framework and visual scaffolding to optimize comprehension of hikayat material. Conducted at SMA Al-Islamiyah, the study involved 30 tenth-grade students and an Indonesian language teacher. Data were gathered multi-dimensionally through semi-structured interviews, participant observation, Quizizz digital footprint extraction, and student perception questionnaires. The findings indicate that implementing Quizizz, initiated by cognitive stimulation via the "Rawa Pening" comic strip, significantly boosted enthusiasm and active participation, while creating a positive, competitive classroom atmosphere. Cognitively, the average class accuracy rate reached 70%, with the highest comprehension concentrated on social values (87%), despite lingering ambiguity in interpreting cultural values. Conclusively, these findings confirm that classical literature is no longer perceived as obsolete when contextualized through a hybrid approach that merges visual mediums, independent inquiry frameworks, and gamified evaluations highly resonant with the digital ecosystem of today's generation.

Abstract

In the digital age, the learning process must innovate to maintain students' optimal learning interest. Students tend to be more engaged in learning that involves interactive digital media than in conventional teacher-centered methods. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of cooperative learning and the use of interactive digital media in enhancing the learning interest of elementary school students. The method used is qualitative with a literature review approach through the analysis of relevant scientific sources from journals, books, and academic publications. Data were analyzed using content analysis by examining and comparing the results of previous studies. The findings indicate that cooperative learning is effective in increasing student participation, collaboration, and learning engagement. Furthermore, interactive digital media such as animations, quizzes, and educational videos have been proven to make learning more engaging and reduce student boredom. The combination of these two approaches consistently enhances students' learning interest at the elementary school level. Thus, it can be concluded that the integration of cooperative learning and interactive digital media is effective in creating active, interactive learning experiences that align with the characteristics of students in the digital age.

Abstract

Peers as social elements have an important role in shaping the learning achievement of high school students. Adolescents in general interact intensely with their peers which can influence their attitudes, motivation to learn, and daily activities. Therefore, this study examines the impact of peer environment on the learning outcomes of high school students. Using qualitative methods with literature studies. Data was obtained through literature searches from scientific books, national and international journals, as well as relevant previous research related to peer interaction and learning processes. The analysis was carried out in a descriptive-qualitative manner through identification, grouping, and interpretation of findings from the literature. The findings of the analysis indicate that the peer environment has a positive and significant impact on the learning achievement of high school students. If the interaction is positive, then the motivation to learn increases, students become more active in the classroom, and learning habits become better. However, if the social environment is negative, interest in learning decreases and academic achievement also decreases. Schools should create a conducive social environment through collaborative learning, academic group activities, and strengthening a positive learning culture. Thus, if managed properly, the learning outcomes of high school students can be optimized optimally and sustainably.

Abstract

Islamic education in Indonesia faces a persistent structural tension in the era of Society 5.0: the dichotomy between religious and general knowledge domains, and between centralised and decentralised educational governance. This tension has deep colonial roots, yet its consequences are acutely felt in the present limiting the capacity of Islamic educational institutions to produce graduates who are simultaneously religiously grounded, intellectually rigorous, and professionally competitive. This article argues that overcoming this dichotomy is essential for Islamic educational institutions to remain relevant and competitive. Using a descriptive qualitative approach grounded in a systematic review of the literature, this study examines the conceptual and practical dimensions of de-dichotomisation in Islamic education. The findings indicate that reform requires three interrelated strategies: adopting a disruptive mindset that challenges conventional assumptions about the purpose and scope of Islamic education, developing the capacity to reshape or create educational structures rather than merely preserve them, and cultivating self-driving institutional agency that enables change from within rather than waiting for external mandates. At the curriculum level, reform should proceed through an integrative–interconnective scientific approach that bridges religious and secular knowledge into a coherent epistemic framework. At the governance level, modern management principles including planning, organising, leading, and continuous evaluation must be embedded across Islamic educational institutions as a structural condition for quality and sustainability. Society 5.0 presents not only technological demands but a historical opportunity for Islamic education to reposition itself as a driver of human-centred development that is spiritually grounded, intellectually rigorous, and socially responsive.
