International Conference on Islamic Studies (ICoIS) is a journal that published biannuaally every June and December by Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Darul Ulum Banyuanyar Pamekasan The scope and focus of this journal is covers language issues researched in the branches of applied linguistics, such as sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, critical discourse analysis, pragmatics, stylistics, corpus linguistics, translation and others. In the area of literature, it covers literary history, literary theory, literary criticism and others, which may include written texts, movies and other media. And this journal also contains many varians of Isamic Studies, among others: Islamic thought, and other Islamic Studies.

Abstract

Abstrak Literasi adalah salah satu instrument untuk mengukur sejauh mana kemajuan zakat di sumatera utara, dimana dimensi antara budaya dengan zakat tidak bisa dipisahkan di dalam agama Islam dan kehidupan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendapatkan bukti nyata terkait lemahnya budaya zakat literasi zakat core principle dengan metode ANP. Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan terkait masalah yang paling prioritas adalah management pengelolaan dan sdm, sosialisasi dan edukasi yang masih lemah dan dana insentif untuk baznas.. Kesimpulannya bahwa penguatan antara literasi zakat harus dibudayakan melalui sosialisasi dan edukasi yang tak pernah putus dan baznas wajib segera mengimplementasikan literasi ZCP.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the English teachers implement Curriculum 2013 in the teaching and learning process in the classroom. The implementation of Curriculum 2013 requires teachers to organize effective learning. There are at least five things that need to be considered with regard to the organization of learning in the implementation of Curriculum 2013, the implementation of learning, procurement and development experts, utilization of expertise and resources of the community, as well as the development and structuring policy. The successful learning in the implementation of the Curriculum 2013 is the entire process of learning, competence and character formation of students is planned. For this purpose, the core competencies, basic competencies, material standards, indicators of learning outcomes, and time should be set in accordance with the interests of learning so that learners are expected to have the opportunity and the optimal learning experience. This study was a descriptive qualitative research. Descriptive because it describes about the characteristics of a phenomenon being studied, and this study described about the English teachers’ perception and implementation in the Curriculum 2013. There were two variables in this study, the first one were the English teachers’ perception and the second one was implementation of the 2013 curriculum. The participants in this study there were two English teachers’ in SMP Lab. Hamzanwadi Pancor. The data of the study used documentation of Curriculum 2013, interview, and observation. Descriptive qualitative data analysis used in this study was adopted from the qualitative data analysis techniques of Huberman (1994) that was data reduction, data display, and verification. The result of the study shows that the English teachers’ perception at SMP Lab. Hamzanwadi found difficulties to implement the Curriculum 2013 before they followed the socialization and after they followed the socialization the English teachers have been trying to be professional in designing affective and meaningful learning process, learning organizations, learning approach, procedure and establishing effective competencies, as well as setting criteria for success. Besides, the implementation of Curriculum 2013 has been done by the English teachers at SMP Lab. Hamzanwadi Pancor.

Abstract

Mencari barakah adalah salah satu tujuan para santri belajar di pesantren. Di kalangan santri, terdapat segolongan khusus yang tidak hanya belajar, tetapi juga mengabdikan dirinya untuk melayani para kiai dan keluarganya secara total. Golongan ini mempunyai sebutan khusus, misalnya khadam, santri ndalem, atau yang di Madura dikenal dengan sebutan kabulâ. Dari masa ke masa, masih banyak saja santri yang mau mengabdikan diri ke pesantren dengan barakah sebagai daya tarik dan alasan utama. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi bermacam-macam barakah bagi para santri kabulâ, dan juga untuk mengetahui bagaimana pemaknaan barakah bagi mereka. Studi ini dilakukan dengan mewawancarai beberapa santri kabula di beberapa pesantren di Bangkalan, diperkuat dengan observasi dan dokumentasi. Studi ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendektan fenomenologis yang berpijak pada pemikiran Alfred Schutz, yaitu orang pertama yang menerapkan fenomenologi dalam penelitian ilmu sosial. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa barakah bagi kabula bentuknya bermacam-macam mulai dari hal yang samar berupa kemudahan dalam belajar, ketenangan batin, dan segala yang tidak tampak (invisible blessings) hingga yang tampak dzahir (visible blessings) seperti bisa menjadi peminpin pesantren, membangun rumah, berhaji dan umroh secara gratis, sembuh dari penyakit, menyekolahkan anak hingga ke luar negeri, dan meraih jabatan tinggi. Barakah pagi para santri kabula dapat dimaknai sebagai sumber kebahagiaan, ketenangan, dan juga keajaiban di luar akal.

Abstract

The aim of the study is to describe the character education values in Islamic stories. The qualitative descriptive research was used in the study. Purposive random sampling was use to determine the object and content analysis was used to analyzed the data. There were nine Islamic stories in the study. The results of this research revealed that there are 15 of 18 character education in the Islamic stories, except democracy, love to read and environmental care. And the Islamic stories can be use to build a good character of generation. Islamic literatures in the form of Islamic stories gives many advantages particularly about teaching character and personality indirectly. Not only gives the awareness of islamic values, but also it provides knowledge of language and culture especially in the context of Islam. Islamic stories also provide with other filed science knowledge, such as history, math, attitude and so on.

Abstract

Nyai's role as one of the leaders in the Nurut Taqwa Islamic Boarding School as a source of exemplary religious attitudes and knowledge in the pesantren has a strategic role. Facing social changes due to modernization that entered the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, there are big challenges for Islamic boarding schools that are required to be able to respond to these social changes. For this reason, improving the quality of pesantren education needs to be made with proper planning, in order to be able to produce quality pesantren education. The focus of this research is to examine the role of Nyai in improving the quality of education at the Nurut Taqwa Sangkapura Islamic Boarding School. This research is a qualitative case study with data collection by observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that (1) there were two focuses on the quality of education in the Nurut Taqwa Islamic boarding school, namely the quality of the human resources of the santri’s and the quality of the pesantren institutions. (2) Nyai's role in quality improvement through the planning, implementation, control and evaluation processes. (3) Nyai leadership type is more dominant to democracy and charismatic.

Abstract

Self-esteem is an individual's evaluation of himself that he is valuable, meaningful, and capable. Having high self-esteem will bring happiness. This study aims to explore the concept of self-esteem sourced from the Qur'an, al-hadith, and thought of Muslim scholars then compares it with the concept of self-esteem from the West initiated by Coopersmith. This research is a research library using content analysis as a data analysis technique. The results showed that the concept of self-esteem in Islam is the essence of Surah Ali Imran verse 139 which states that true Muslims are individuals holding the highest degree. The comparison of self-esteem between the West and Islam, it is known that the aspects of self-esteem in the Western perspective include competence, significance, power, and virtue. Meanwhile, in Islam, aspects of self-esteem are the character of true Muslims such as having a safe belief, correct worship, good morals, building Islamic family and control of lust. The comparison between self-esteem in Western and Islamic concepts lies in its substance in which from a Western perspective, self-esteem starts from one's own efforts to have high self-esteem. Meanwhile, from an Islamic perspective, starts from being a true Muslim by internalizing the values of Islamic teachings in his life.

Abstract

Islamic College of Religion (STAI) Hasan Jufri Bawean, Gresik Regency, which is currently the choice of higher education studies. The research objective was to analyze the creative marketing strategies carried out by the Marketing Division of STAI Hasan Jufri Bawean in attracting prospective new students and to find out whether the promotional strategies carried out by the Marketing Division team of STAI Hasan Jufri Bawean have been carried out optimally. The research method used is a qualitative research method. The data collection technique used was in-depth interviews with the Marketing Division Manager of STAI Hasan Jufri Bawean. In addition, discussions were held with 3 respondents as informants to find out about creative marketing activities that have been carried out by the Marketing Division team of STAI Hasan Jufri Bawean to attract prospective new students. The result of the research is that the creative marketing strategy carried out by the Marketing Division of STAI Hasan Jufri Bawean has been running well, successfully achieving the target, while the image of STAI Hasan Jufri Bawean is very good, because the majority of informants prefer STAI Hasan Jufri Bawean over other campuses on Bawean Island. The conclusion of this research is that using creative marketing strategies in promoting STAI Hasan Jufri Bawean is very effective, but the Marketing Division of STAI Hasan Jufri Bawean should also consider establishing good cooperation with various online media outside the campus

Abstract

Through the Circular of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 3 of 2020 concerning the Prevention of COVID-19 in the Education unit, all higher education in Indonesia takes firm steps on the government's appeal to carry out learning activities from home. The policy of learning from home is also enforced at STAI Hasan Jufri Bawean, this is a new experience for both lecturers and students so that it attracts researchers to find out about the online learning system during the Covid-19 pandemic at STAI Hasan Jufri Bawean. This study aims to determine the creativity of online learning at STAI Hasan Jufri Bawean during the Covid-19 pandemic and to find out the various media used by lecturers in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic at STAI Hasan Jufri Bawean. This research includes field research (fiel reseach) conducted at STAI Hasan Jufri Bawean. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Data collection was carried out using interview, observation, and documentation methods. The results in this study are that a lecturer is required to be creative and adaptive to their needs and development so that they are able to answer the problems faced, for example by making a video presentation of course material which is then uploaded to google classroom and edmodo, as for online learning media used by lecturers, others are google classroom, edmodo, google meet, zoom meeting, WhatsApp group and gem4me group.

Abstract

According to the history of Islamic Law development, Civilization underwent the decadences. It can be proved in it’s application of Islamic law In the human or moesleem’s life. We know that Prohet Muhammad’s period was the best period of all periods in the Islam history. After that, the periods of Khulafa’urrasyidin, and the others until nowdays. In Islamic law perspective, civilizaation undergwent the steps of decadences. It was caused by the spread of Islam in many different countries and different human’s brains. This articel is a library research by using the history approach. This article had conclude that civilization has undergone the decadences because of three things. First, because of the bad application of Islamic law. Second, because of many different thoughts in Islamic law. Third, because of different culture and human around the world. In the other sides of civilizaation, we know that Islam had developed and had been progress. But, in Islamic law, it didn’t give a good progress in civilization. And it is compared with the civilization nowdays in many countries, one of them is Indonsia as an example. Now we have many Islamic law institutions in our country as a judiciary, such as Relegion courts. These courts spread to all over regions in Indonesia. And we have Islamic law number 01 in 1974 about the merriage, the Compilation of Islamic Law n (KHI), the basic Indonesian law (UUD) 1945 pasal 29th about The Nation base on an almighty deuty, The law Number 07 in 1989 about judiciary, The law number 38 in 1999 about Zakat, the law numer 13 in 2008 about hajj organizing, and the law number 20 about National Education System pasal 20th about Religion Education. But all of those laws are not the sign of civilization progress in Islamic law. Because we are not only looking to the building and formalization of the laws, but also we look in to the application and the effectiveness of those laws and those institutions. And although in the prohet’s period didn’t have law institution but He could solve all of his societies problems in law. But nowdays, we can see that the beautiful law building can not solve societies problems perfectly.

Abstract

Islam is a religion that views the importance of government in order to bring about justice in various fields. Government in the view of Islam, functions to control the proceedings of justice in society. Thus, this article attempts to discuss the government system in the perspective of Sayed Qutb, using qualitative methods, which are presented in a descriptive analysis. Through this method, the author concludes that the system of government in Islam according to Sayed Qutb is built on the basis of freedom of the soul, equality of human rights and social security.
