Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that influence the difficulty of beginning reading in and how the teacher's efforts in overcoming the difficulty of beginning reading in students. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach, with 38 students in grade 1 MIN 6 Padang as the subject. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study show that the factors that influence the difficulty of reading at the beginning of grade 1 MIN 6 Padang City are: Lack of attention from parents, often forgetting letters, peer environment, lack of confidence, difficulty spelling. Furthermore, this study also shows that the teacher's efforts in overcoming reading difficulties at the beginning of class 1 MIN 6 Padang City, namely the dominant teacher uses the syllable method, the teacher increases attention and directs when learning takes place, provides motivation and advice, lends books in the library, and provides hours addition. So it can be concluded that the teacher's efforts in overcoming students' reading difficulties are very influential for students who have initial reading difficulties

Abstract

This Special Elementary School in the city of Sorong educates its students based on the school curriculum structure (SDLB) but adapts it to the needs of children with special needs at the school. Changes in physical conditions also affect a child's sense of self-confidence, and physical or mental disabilities can cause a person to feel inferior and even embarrassed to interact with other people. This is interesting to research because this research focuses on the role of class teachers in increasing the self-confidence of people with disabilities. This research uses qualitative research in the form of actions and words from samples that were observed or interviewed directly, namely the principal, class teachers and students of the Inpres 73 Extraordinary Elementary School in Malaingkedi, Sorong City. There are various ways to increase the self-confidence of students with disabilities, things that must be instilled in students are that they must have the courage to try new positive things and always practice worship and get closer to God. Abstract

Matematics is one of the obligation lesson that must be thaught from the basic class (Elementary School) to the high classes (Junior and Senior High Schools). In fact, matematics is still guessed as the hard lesson, this statement was proved by the result of PISA (Programme International Student Assesment) on the year of 2018, and Indonesia placed on the-72 position of 79 participant countries. Since then, the problem was found that Learning method is still using monotonous learning method. The cooperative learning model, with using STAD (Student Team Achievement Division) type, is a model which students have a good team work and doing actively in learning. The purpose of this research is about knowing the influence of the cooperative learning model, with using STAD (Student Team Achievement Division) type on the results of learning about the data display of matematics lesson, which lesson is learned by the students class V. The kind of this result is kuantitatif with using the model of One Group Pretest Posttest Design research, using the research sample of 12 students who were given any treatments. The result of wilcoxon data analysis which based on the Asymp values. Sig. (2-tailed) and also has a value of 0,003 is on the double choice questions, and the value of essay questions have 0.002 < 0,05, which means that “alternative hyphoteses is accepted”, and the result can be inferred that there is the influence of applying the cooperative which type is STAD (Student Team Achievement Division) model on the results of learning about the data display of matematics lesson, which lesson is learned by the students class V.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the reasons for the preference of prospective teachers in choosing the preferred grade level of teaching in elementary schools. This decision-making process is a complex process and is influenced by several internal and external factors that affect the decision of prospective teachers on the selection of teaching classes in elementary schools. Prospective teachers are required to have various competencies, namely pedagogic, social, professional and personality competencies, all of which are an interrelated and mutually supportive unit. It is important for aspiring teachers to understand their own preferences, consider the needs of students at a certain level, and have an appropriate teaching style, making informed decisions. This study uses a qualitative method by collecting data through direct interviews with a sample of 20 respondents of semester VI students, from the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education study program at the Faculty of Tarbiyah, Universit. The results of the analysis showed that there was a balance in each reason of preference for the grade level that prospective teachers wanted to teach, where each had advantages and disadvantages in each specific selected grade level. This highlights that the decision to choose the preferred grade level of teaching prospective teachers in elementary schools is influenced by individual preferences, interests, motivation, experiences during education, and family and social environments.

Abstract

Low student learning outcomes result in teachers having to try to improve learning in the classroom. This study aims to improve student learning outcomes using the Jigsaw method assisted by Canva in Fikih learning in class VI A MI Al-Ishlah Kota Sorong. Based on the type, this research is a class action research (PTK). This PTK consists of two cycles, each cycle consists of four stages namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. In this study, researchers used data collection methods namely observation, tests, and documentation. The data analysis technique used was descriptive statistics interpreted in the form of narratives and graphs. The results showed that the use of the assisted Jigsaw method can improve student learning outcomes in class VI A MI Al-Ishlah Kota Sorong. This can be seen in the percentage of student learning outcomes in cycle I which increased from 58% to 88%. That is, there was an increase of 30% from the pre-cycle. The student learning outcomes in cycle II also experienced a significant increase, namely from 88% to 100%. That is, there was an increase of 12% from cycle I.

Abstract

Dengan adanya pembelajaran IPA ini sebagai calon guru atau guru yang akan memberikan pelajaran kepada siswa hendaklah memiliki pemahaman tentang sains secara luas agar dapat disampsikan kepada siswa melalui teori maupun prakteknya secara langsung di lapangan. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini untuk mengetahui seberapa efektif pengajar IPA di dalam perguruan tinggi dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan sains sebagai calon guru dengan menggunakan konsep pembelajaran untuk mengajar. Pentingnya penelitian ini dilakukan dikarenakan satu dari salah satu program studi di Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Sorong adalah program studi IPA. Program studi ini sebelumnya belum pernah dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui bagaimana efektifitas pengajar IPA dalam meningkatkan pemahaman mereka terhadap sains yang dimana mereka merupakan calon pengajar atau calon guru yang akan memberikan edukasi yang baik kepada siswa yang nantinya mereka berikan pengajaran. Dalam metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan jenis dan pendekatan penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskripti, Objek dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Fakultas Tarbiyah Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Sorong. Dari hasil wawancara yang dilakukan kepada 5 responden, dapat kita ketahui bahwa semua responden mempunyai jawaban dari wawancara mengarah kepada hal yang positif dalam jawaban-jawaban tersebut. kelima responden tersebut merupakan mahasiswa yang berada di Fakultas Tarbiyah Institut Agama Islam Negeri Sorong yang aktif dalam bangku perkuliahan. Menurut kelima responden tersebut adanya dampak yang baik jika terdapat tambahan ektrakulikuler guna memberikan pemahaman yang luas terhadap calon guru sekolah dasar

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan kognitif calon guru SD dalam pembelajaran konsep IPA di jenjang tinggi. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan analisis dokumen, yang kemudian diolah dan dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir logis, analitis, dan kreatif calon guru berada pada kategori cukup baik. Calon guru mampu mengorganisir informasi secara sistematis, membuat kesimpulan berdasarkan fakta, serta mengembangkan strategi pembelajaran yang inovatif. Namun, beberapa calon guru masih mengalami kesulitan dalam menjelaskan konsep-konsep kompleks dan mencari solusi yang efektif. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa kemampuan kognitif calon guru SD tidak hanya ditentukan oleh faktor akademis, tetapi juga oleh motivasi, minat, dan pengalaman mengajar. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan dukungan dan bimbingan yang komprehensif untuk membantu calon guru mengembangkan kemampuan kognitif mereka. Penelitian ini juga mendukung temuan sebelumnya yang menunjukkan pentingnya kemampuan berpikir logis, analitis, dan kreatif dalam pembelajaran sains. Dengan meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif calon guru, diharapkan kualitas pembelajaran sains di sekolah dasar dapat ditingkatkan, sehingga siswa dapat memahami konsep-konsep sains dengan lebih baik dan tertarik untuk belajar sains

Abstract

Learning is a process that is basically not only to convey material, convey messages, but it is expected that there is interaction between teachers or educators and students. Especially in science learning, where in the process students are expected to find something related to their learning. However, in the learning process sometimes a sense of boredom arises, one way to overcome this is by applying ice braking in the science learning process. Ice breaking is a change of atmosphere, from what was boring, making sleepy, or tense, to be more relaxed, relaxed and fun. But then the question is whether the implementation of ice braking is embraced in science learning, considering that in the process there is a practicum. This study aims to determine the prospective teacher's perspective on whether ice breaking can be implemented in science learning. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with interview techniques. The results obtained are From the results of the study it can be concluded that the perspective of prospective teachers regarding the application of ice braking in science learning is very diverse. However, the average prospective teacher states that ice braking can be applied in science learning, but by paying attention to timeliness as well as student conditions and classroom situations in the learning process. When the situation and conditions are considered conducive, then there is no need for the application of ice braking. Reconsidering in the process of learning ipa is not only done by delivering theory, but also practicum.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are still very low in the Southwest Papua region. This can be said because students still tend to answer questions according to what they read in books rather than from their own thoughts. To improve critical thinking skills, it is necessary to get used to it or give HOTS-based questions to students. HOTS-based questions are designed to determine students' critical thinking abilities. The aim of the research carried out by researchers was to find out the opinions of prospective teachers regarding the application of HOTS-based questions in science learning in elementary/MI. The method used in the research that the researchers conducted was descriptive qualitative. The data collection technique used was through tests and interviews with 18 prospective teacher students. The data analysis technique used is a qualitative analysis technique with four stages, namely data collection, data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing. The results of the research conducted by researchers are: 1) prospective teacher students agree with the application of HOTS-based questions in improving critical thinking skills in science lessons in elementary/MI; 2) student teachers said that the main advantage of HOTS-based questions is that they can improve high-level thinking and critical thinking skills; 3) the application of HOTS-based questions is suitable for high classes, namely grades 4-6 SD/MI; 4) application of HOTS-based questions can improve critical thinking skills; 5) implementing HOTS-based questions can improve the quality of education in Indonesia. It can be concluded that according to student teachers, the application of HOTS-based questions is very good and has benefits and impacts on education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Cognitive is a mental ability related to a person's knowledge, understanding, and intelligence. Broadly, cognitive includes the process of acquiring, structuring, and using knowledge. Cognitive can also be interpreted as the ability to learn, think, and solve simple problems, as well as the skill of understanding the surrounding environment. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, to explore information from prospective PGMI teacher students at IAIN Sorong. The research can be concluded that a deep conceptual understanding of science provides benefits for prospective teachers and students. For aspiring teachers, a strong understanding of the basic concepts of science allows them to develop science learning that is more interesting, meaningful, and relevant for students. This includes the ability to explain material clearly, identify difficult concepts, make connections with real life, and design effective learning activities such as practicums, experiments, and science projects. For students, a good conceptual understanding can increase their enthusiasm, engagement, and understanding of science. In addition, a deep understanding also helps students develop critical and creative thinking skills. Thus, mastery of comprehensive basic science concepts plays an important role in improving the quality of science learning and developing students' potential
