Abstract

Health Health centers must be accredited to improve the quality of health services. In order for accreditation to be achieved, Public Health Center has requirements that must be met regarding buildings, infrastructure, equipment, and providing a safe environment for service users, visitors, officers, and the community, including patients with physical limitations. Patients with physical limitations are given access to obtain services, so facility and safety management are needed. Community service activities carried out by the Postgraduate Program in Public Health IIK Strada Indonesia, which was carried out from May 22, 2023, to June 17, 2023, aim to identify the implementation and implementation strategies for facility management and safety using Fishbone, USG, and SWOT analysis at Public Health Center Pesantren II Kediri. One of the implementations was the socialization of facility and safety management to all employees, and the results of the Wilcoxon statistical test pre-test and post-test showed a sig value. 0.000 (<0.05) means that there is an effect of socialization of facility management and security among Public Health Center Pesantran II employees. Implementation and management strategies for facilities and security management at Public Health Center Pesantren II Kediri have been well implemented. To improve service quality, there are several conditions that can be optimized. Public Health Center management has a big role to play in ensuring the management of facility management and security in accordance with applicable regulations.

Abstract

Indonesia is in third place among Asia Pacific countries for the growth and spread of HIV with a total of 46,000 cases. East Java Province is designated as an area with concentrated HIV prevalence along with five other provinces, namely DKI Jakarta, Papua, Bali, Riau and West Java. Knowledge is one of the predisposing factors in early detection of HIV disease, as well as risky behavior that can cause HIV AIDS transmission. This research aims to provide education to key communities as an effort to increase knowledge about HIV AIDS prevention and transmission. This research takes the form of experimental research, namely by measuring the increase in respondents' knowledge through pretest and posttest after the intervention. The intervention takes the form of providing education related to knowledge of preventing HIV/AIDS transmission. The intervention that will be carried out to increase knowledge about safe sexual behavior and preventing HIV AIDS transmission will be carried out by providing education on preventing HIV AIDS transmission in key communities at the Mahameru Foundation for 40 respondents. Risky sexual behavior such as having sexual relations with irregular partners, not using condoms during sexual intercourse, having sexual relations under the influence of alcohol and drugs are still carried out by key communities. The level of knowledge regarding risky sexual behavior, how HIV AIDS is transmitted and how to prevent HIV AIDS before education is carried out is still low.

The implementation that has been carried out in this community service are education to elementary school children, education to food vendors, observation of the cleanliness of the tourist area observation of how to serve snacks and laboratory tests of microbial contamination in food/beverage snacks. Then to evaluate understanding after education by analyzing the mean value of pre-test and post-test. The results of this activity have provided education for elementary school students regarding clean and healthy living behavior in the area even though the average pre-test score of 6.15 decreased to 6.07 during the post-test. The socialization of safe and healthy snacks for food vendors in THP Kenjeran Lama has also been carried out with the pre-test score having an average of 5.2 then increased to 8.7 at the time of the post-test. Laboratory test results showed a very alarming condition, namely 88.89% of food-beverage samples were contaminated with microbes with various types of bacteria. Suggestions from the results of this activity are still the need for more intensive education to school children about the selection of snacks and diseases transmitted through food and beverages. There is still a need for assistance from food vendors in processing and serving food and drinks by sanitary hygiene standards.

Abstract

Obesity is a risk factor for various degenerative diseases such as diabetes mellitus and coronary heart disease. Obesity and all degenerative diseases could be prevented by implementing a healthy lifestyle, early detection of risk factors for degenerative diseases, and increasing knowledge about degenerative diseases. Therefore, this service activity aimed to form a healthy community with a program for three consecutive months. Activities included healthy exercise once a week, degenerative disease risk factors screening, and health education. Activities were carried out every Sunday morning for three months located in Bandulan Barat, Sukun District, Malang City. This activity was attended by 40 non-menopausal women. Health screening included waist circumference, random blood glucose, uric acid, cholesterol, and blood pressure. Of the 40 women examined, 39 suffered from central obesity, 6 suffered from hypertension, 4 suspected diabetes mellitus, 5 suffered from hyperlipidemia, and 4 of them suffered from hyperuricemia. As an intervention, participants received education about healthy lifestyles and degenerative diseases, the treatment of hypertension, hyperlipidemia, hyperuricemia, and diabetes mellitus. From healthy screening, central obesity was the most prevalent in this women's community. Healthy exercise community activities with health screening, and health education could be effective strategies for promotive and preventive activities to prevent degenerative obesity.

Abstract

The aging global population necessitates tailored health services for the elderly. Complementary therapies, such as acupressure and exercise, have shown promise in addressing elderly health needs. Integrating these therapies with elderly schools, community centers offering tailored programs, presents a holistic healthcare approach. This research aims to assess elderly perceptions and potential benefits of integrating elderly schools and complementary therapies. It explores awareness levels, acceptance, implementation barriers, and perceived impacts on overall well-being. The study provides crucial evidence for policymakers and practitioners to enhance basic health services for the elderly. A descriptive survey method was employed, utilizing self-administered questionnaires. Closed-ended Likert scale questions gauged perceptions, while open-ended questions captured qualitative insights. The sample comprised individuals aged 60 and above, drawn from elderly school attendees and complementary therapy users. Survey results indicate positive perceptions toward integration, with approximately 85% of respondents expressing favorable views. Participants believe that combining educational programs with complementary therapies could enhance physical health (76%), mental health (68%), and stress management (82%). Open-ended responses provided nuanced insights, highlighting personal transformations and concerns related to cost and accessibility. The majority of respondents perceive the integration positively, supporting theoretical frameworks emphasizing benefits. Qualitative data enriches the understanding of participants' experiences. While acknowledging limitations, such as the cross-sectional nature and potential bias, this research provides valuable knowledge. It suggests that integrating elderly schools and complementary therapy holds promise in promoting holistic healthcare, contributing to healthy aging and improved quality of life for the elderly.

The waiting time for outpatient services in a hospital is one of the important factors determining patient satisfaction with the hospital, so it is hoped that patients will not wait too long while in the hospital. This study aimed to optimize outpatient waiting times so that it can increase the achievement of national quality indicators at TNI AD 05.08.04 Hospital, Lawang. This study used fishbone diagrams, USG (Urgency, Seriousness, Growth), and SWOT Analysis (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Treats) to formulate problems and find solutions. The results of this study showed that priority problems in waiting time include: standard operating procedure (SOP) for outpatient service flow are still not available, the electronic medical record system is still often slow, and evaluation of national quality indicators is still not carried out routinely. Furthermore, the proposed strategy offered is the creation of SOP regarding the flow of outpatient services and routine outreach regarding the use of electronic medical records. With the implementation of these two strategies, it is hoped that they will be able to speed up waiting times for outpatient services, thus improving the achievement of national quality indicators.
