Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) bentuk alih kode dan campur kode dan (2) faktor penyebab terjadinya alih kode dan campur kode pada film Pariban dari Tanah Jawa karya Andibachtiar Yusuf. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik simak dan dilanjutkan dengan teknik catat. Keabsahan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik tringulasi teori. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penulisan ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut: Pertama, gejala alih kode melibatkan pemakaian bahasa Batak, bahasa Indonesia, dan bahasa Inggris. Gejala campur kode melibatkan pemakaian bahasa Batak, bahasa Inggris, dan bahasa Indonesia. Kedua, faktor penyebab terjadinya alih kode berkaitan dengan hubungan penutur dengan mitra tutur, latar tempat, sosial, budaya dan situasi pembicaraan. Faktor penyebab campur kode berkaitan dengan faktor ekstralinguistik dan intralinguistik.

Abstract

This study aims to describe: (1) the bilingualism of the novel Love Sparks In Korea by Asma Nadia; (2) describe the implications of bilingual learning in the novel Love Sparks In Korea by Asma Nadia. This study uses a sociolinguistic study with a sociological approach, the data source comes from the novel Love Sparks In Korea by Asma Nadia, the data form in the form of speech fragments. Data collection techniques using the method of reading with reading techniques. The technique of presenting the results of the data analysis used is informal technique. Based on the results of bilingual studies found in the novel Love Sparks In Korea by Asma Nadia, they consist of (1) compound bilingualness totaling 5 data: 11.4%, (2) coordinative bounty totaling 9 data: 20.4%, (3) subordinative bilingualism totaling 30 data: 68.2%. The results of this study can be used as a reference in language learning activities in high school. Through this learning students are expected to be able to understand the various languages used daily, and have a positive impact on future lives

Abstract

Sebagai sebuah respon yang menginterpretasikan kepekaan pengarang terhadap berbagai fenomena di sekitarnya, karya sastra hadir dengan berbagai muatan kritik, nilai, dan norma. Cerpen Pelajaran Mengarang karya Seno Gumira Ajidarma merupakan salah satu karya sastra yang hadir dengan muatan nilai-nilai dan kritik sosial untuk merespons realitas kehidupan lain masyarakat marjinal ibukota. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kritik sosial pada Cerpen Pelajaran Mengarang karya Seno Gumira Ajidarma dengan menggunakan pendekatan semiotika tanda Pierce pada objek trikotomi relasi (makna) berupa ikon, indeks, dan simbol. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode analisis isi (studi pustaka). Metode pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini meliputi kegiatan membaca, mengidentifikasi, mencatat, dan menafsirkan data dengan teknik analisis data deskriptif kualitatif berupa studi pustaka (analisis isi). Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa kritik sosial yang dihadirkan pengarang melalui Cerpen Pelajaran Mengarang, ditinjau dari pendekatan semiotika Pierce mengenai tanda, yaitu ikon, indeks, dan simbol. Kritik sosial yang ditemukan antara lain: (1) kesalahan paradigma masyarakat tentang perkotaan; (2) status sosial pada masyarakat yang termarjinalkan bukanlah menjadi prioritas penting; dan (3) lingkungan sosial memiliki berbagai dampak kehidupan individu tersebut melekat pada karakter, tingkah laku, konflik batin, bahkan satuan bahasa yang digunakan oleh tokoh-tokoh di dalam cerpen.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe explanatory text learning based on the 2013 curriculum for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 8 Surakarta. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The results showed that the teacher had carried out three stages in learning, namely planning, implementing, and assessing learning. In the lesson plan, it is stated in the lesson plan (RPP) that is used by the teacher by following the RPP curriculum 2013 format. In implementing the learning process, it was found that some of the teacher's activities had fulfilled the concept of learning in the 2013 curriculum, namely apperception activities, core activities, and closing activities. In the assessment of learning to compile explanatory text, it appears that the teacher only assesses aspects of knowledge, namely students are given the task of compiling explanatory text individually.

Abstract

The male hegemony in Elizabeth Curtis Sittenfeld's novel American Wife presents women with their dominance. This shows an ambiguous attitude of a woman in responding to the discourse of male domination, the injustice of women's roles and an affirmation of women's resistance to male domination. From here the main problem is the subject's response to the discourse of male domination through women's resistance strategies through participation in society. The concept or theory and the research method used are qualitative. The result obtained is that the idea of equality in education is used as a strategy of resistance in the discourse of male domination as well as strengthening women's resistance to male domination. In addition, the strategy also develops ideas about women's strength based on equality in education, namely through access to higher education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe (1) assertive speech acts stating what is used in buying and selling interactions between sellers and buyers in the second floor BTC market in the city of Surakarta; (2) the assertive form of assertive speech act stating that is used in buying and selling interactions between sellers and buyers in the second floor BTC market in the city of Surakarta; (3) the implicature function that appears in assertive speech acts states in the interaction of buying and selling between sellers and buyers in the second floor BTC market in the city of Surakarta; and (4) the relevance of assertive speech acts states in the interaction of buying and selling between sellers and buyers in the 2nd floor BTC market as teaching material for negotiating texts in high schools. This study used a qualitative method using a pragmatic study approach related to speech acts. The results of the study are as follows. First, there are 35 variations of speech data that occur in the interaction of buying and selling between sellers and buyers in the second floor BTC market in the city of Surakarta. Second, from 35 assertive utterances stated in the interaction of buying and selling carried out by the seller and buyer are categorized into two forms of implicature, namely conventional and non-conventional. Third, from 35 speech data analyzed the implicature function that emerged from each speech data in the interaction of buying and selling between sellers and buyers in the second floor BTC market in Surakarta. Fourth, Assertive speech acts state that the buying and selling interactions that arise in the BTC market on the 2nd floor can be considered as negotiating text teaching material on basic competence 3.11 constructing negotiating texts for class X SMA by considering variations and learning objectives to be achieved.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) jenis gaya bahasa; (2) jenis nilai moral; dan (3) relevansi hasil temuan kumpulan puisi Ayat-Ayat Api karya Sapardi Djoko Damono sebagai bahan ajar sastra di sekolah menengah atas.  Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendeketan stilistika. Sumber data penelitian yang dilakukan ini adalah dokumen jenis gaya bahasa dan nilai moral dalam kumpulan puisi Ayat-Ayat Api karya Sapardi Djoko Damono, serta informan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu wawancara dan analisis dokumen. Peneliti menggunakan triangulasi teori dan sumber data sebagai uji validitas data. Hasil penelitian sebagai berikut. Pertama, terdapat 123 jenis gaya bahasa yang meliputi 34 gaya bahasa personifikasi, 32 gaya bahasa aliterasi, 21 gaya bahasa metafora, dan 14 gaya bahasa hiperbola. Kedua, terdapat 26 bentuk nilai moral yang berupa 11 aspek nilai berkata jujur, 7 aspek berbuat benar, 7 aspek berani, dan 1 aspek berlaku adil. Ketiga, hasil temuan kumpulan puisi Ayat-Ayat Api karya Sapardi Djoko Damono ini relevan dan dapat digunakan sebagai bahan ajar sastra di SMA khususnya kelas X pada KD 3.17 tentang menganalisis unsur pembangun puisi.

Abstract

The results shows that there are structure error and Indonesian language usage error on the persuasion text written by students at grade 8 of Junior High School in Surakarta. Those errors on the incomplete structure of persuasion text especially in the reaffirmation section. The Indonesian language usage errors include spelling error, diction error, and grammatical error. The most common errors of spelling comprises capital letters and punctuation marks usage particularly full stop and comma. The most-found errors of diction comprises improper diction selection and nonstandard diction. Grammatical error is mainly caused by ineffective sentence. Those errors are caused by some factors. The factors are (1) students do not understand the structure of persuasion text, (2) students have lack of spelling and diction knowledge, (3) the lack of examples given by teacher, (4) the lack of writing practice, and (5) student lack motivation within writing.

Abstract

Rendahnya minat baca terutama pada pelajar yang dibuktikan oleh riset yang dilakukan PISA, UNESCO, dan CCSU. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kecepatan membaca siswa kelas XI di MAN 1 Kota Cirebon, untuk mendeskripsikan hasil menyintesis bacaan siswa kelas XI di MAN 1 Kota Cirebon, untuk mendeskripsikan korelasi antara kecepatan efektif membaca dan hasil sintesis bacaan pada siswa kelas XI di MAN 1 Kota Cirebon. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan kategori penelitian studi korelasional. Teknik analisis yang digunakan yaitu teknik analisis korelasi untuk mengetahui hubungan antarvariabel. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dengan SPSS 25 kecepatan efektif membaca pada siswa kelas XI di MAN 1 Cirebon pada kategori tinggi sebanyak 12 responden (35,29%), kategori sedang sebanyak 15 reponden (44,12%), kategori rendah sebanyak 7 responden (20,59%). Kemampuan menyintesis bacaan siswa kelas XI di MAN 1 Cirebon frekuensi berada pada kategori tinggi sebanyak 2 reponden (5,88%), pada kategori sedang sebanyak 22 responden (64,71%), pada kategori rendah sebanyak 7 responden (29,41%). Terdapat korelasi antara kecepatan efektif membaca dan hasil menyintesis bacaan, namun tidak signifikan karena t-hitung senilai 0,076 lebih kecil dari t-tabel senilai 2,042.

Abstract

This research is a case study using descriptive qualitative methods with 21 research subjects explanatory essays written by class VIII students. The results showed that (1) there were 447 findings of spelling errors, including the writing of absorption elements (0.06%), word writing (8.27%), use of punctuation marks (18.34%), and use of letters (72, 70%) dominated by capital letters errors (70.69%) in the form of findings of patterns of capital letters errors; (2) there are seven articles that have structural errors, including the structure of the composition which is not coherent, the ambiguous type of the article, and the fact that incomplete of the structure dominates the findings of structural errors and becomes one of the triggers for other errors; (3) the factors causing the error are lack of writing practice, less thoroughness, lack of understanding of students, students' language habits, and lack of student interest in following lessons which are the dominant factors because it exacerbates other factors; (4) preventive action, students choose to learn to use spelling correctly and write explanatory text; the teacher makes direct corrections, emphasizes punishment, the use of spelling guidelines and text characteristics to students; the school, especially the principal, supervises and activates school literacy, and (5) both students, teachers and school principals provide advice to deal with these mistakes, namely the use of fun learning media and creating a comfortable learning atmosphere, habituation to using PUEBI, as well as synergy from related parties.
