Abstract

Pringgasela is one of the villages in East Lombok regency that has strength in the development of MSMEs (micro, small and Medium Enterprises). One of the mainstay business sectors in Pringgasela Village is weaving, various activities have been carried out to identify and provide solutions to existing problems, activities begin with observations and interviews with local people, especially weaving cloth craftsmen and MSME actors. The identification results show that although Pringgasela village has great potential in MSMEs, especially in the production of woven fabrics, there are significant constraints in market access, caused by the lack of utilization of digital media. In response to these problems, the solution implemented is to organize socialization and training focused on improving the use of digital media as a marketing method. It is expected that the program can increase the income and welfare of the community, especially MSME actors. This Program shows that the use of digital technology can be an effective solution in overcoming economic challenges in the village, as well as strengthening existing local potential.

Abstract

Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) is a form of service of higher education institutions to the community carried out by the University of Mataram (Unram). This activity is carried out by providing opportunities for students and lecturers to be directly in the field as a team in a village or a certain location. The general purpose of this KKN activity is to answer the various issues that have been raised above and realize the Peseng Preparatory Village (Wajageseng) into an economically and environmentally sustainable village through the application of green economy principles and community empowerment. Community empowerment through the development and optimization of vacant land is one of the important strategies in increasing the independence and welfare of village communities. Unused vacant land is often ignored and not used effectively, even though the potential is very large to be developed into useful resources. Wajageseng Village, located in Kopang District, Central Lombok Regency, is an example of a village that has great potential in community empowerment through the development of vacant land. In this context, planting seedlings and implementing zero waste are very relevant strategies to improve the welfare of the community and the environment. Planting seedlings can not only increase fruit production, but it can also increase public awareness about the importance of effective and efficient land use. In addition, the implementation of zero waste can help reduce waste and improve environmental quality, so that people can live more balanced and sustainable. The purpose of this activity is to increase public awareness of the importance of environmental management, improve the quality of life of the community through the development and optimization of vacant land, as well as reduce the volume of waste produced by the community. This activity lasted for 52 days, from July 2nd to August 22nd. Involving students and the local community so that this program runs smoothly. Planting 300 seedlings on vacant land and making 5 garbage bins with location placement, namely 3 at the village office, 1 at the head of the hamlet, and 1 at the health center.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to introduce the Impago Unram 1 variety (red rice) to farmers in Suranadi village in a sustainable manner through counseling and direct cultivation practices to farmers, especially the Mata Air 1 and 2 farmer groups located in the North Suranadi area. The results of this counseling show that farmers are enthusiastic about the dissemination of this new variety. Likewise, the village government institutions feel very helped by the direct practice of cultivating red rice. The positive impact of this activity is that farmers' knowledge of food diversity or diversification is increasing, which will be in line with the welfare of the economic aspects in the community, especially food crop farmers. It is hoped that there will be continuous assistance so that food independence can be realized and then the Impago Unram 1 rice variety can become a superior commodity in Suranadi Village.

Abstract

Paok Pampang Village, established as a result of the division from Dasan Lekong Village in 2010, possesses abundant natural resources in agriculture, livestock, and plantations. Agriculture in this village produces various types of food crops and fruits, with green mustard (sawi) being the main commodity. Despite the abundant production of green mustard, its market value remains low due to a lack of product diversification. To enhance its value, an innovation was introduced by processing green mustard into a snack product called "stick sawi." The methods used in this activity include direct observation and conducting educational outreach. Observation is useful for understanding the post-harvest processing of green mustard. The results of this activity are expected to improve the welfare of the community by increasing the economic value and competitiveness of agricultural products in the market, thereby supporting the economic well-being of the people in Paok Pampang Village.

Abstract

The 2024 KKN PMD-UNRAM program in Desa Kayangan, North Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, focused on improving environmental quality through the implementation of biopore hole technology. Desa Kayangan, known for its fertile agricultural potential, faced significant challenges in organic waste management and waterlogging. The 2024 KKN PMD-UNRAM program initiated an innovative solution through the implementation of biopore hole technology. By actively involving the community, the program was able to significantly reduce organic waste volume, improve soil quality, and reduce the risk of waterlogging. Biopore holes not only serve as a medium for composting organic waste but also increase groundwater infiltration capacity. As a result, the program not only provides a technical solution but also promotes behavioral changes in the community towards more sustainable environmental management. The active participation of the community in the construction and maintenance of biopore holes is the key to the success of this program. This program proves that with the right approach and community participation, complex environmental problems can be addressed effectively and sustainably.

Abstract

The growing concerns from consumers about the safety of conventional food products, which are produced through the use of chemical fertilizers and synthetic pesticides in agriculture, are discussed. The uncontrolled use of chemicals is leading to environmental pollution, such as soil and water contamination, and increasing chemical residues in food products. Additionally, pests and plant diseases are becoming more resistant to pesticides, forcing farmers to use more chemicals, which further increases the accumulation of harmful residues in food. This issue arises because many farmers do not yet understand proper agricultural practices, as outlined in Good Agricultural Practices (GAP). GAP is a certification system implemented to ensure that agricultural production processes use advanced, environmentally friendly, and sustainable technologies, ensuring that the products are safe for consumption, worker welfare is guaranteed, and farming provides economic benefits. However, the implementation of GAP in the field remains low due to high costs, complex procedures, and the limited socio-economic conditions of farmers. GAP is also crucial for restoring agricultural land that has been degraded by chemical use. The development of GAP for sustainable agriculture can be achieved through a SWOT strategy, which involves increasing training and demonstrations for farmers, submitting requests to the Food Security Agency (BKP) to improve extension facilities, enhancing knowledge and skills related to GAP, and increasing interaction with universities and research institutions.
