Abstract

The Suggestopedia method is a learning approach that emphasizes a relaxed and fun learning atmosphere, supported by elements of music, relaxation, and games. This article presents the results of a literature review of several studies that tested the effectiveness of the Suggestopedia method in improving language learning outcomes. These studies were conducted at different levels of education, from primary education to higher education, in different countries. The results show that the Suggestopedia method significantly improves students' learning activities, speaking skills, and comprehension of language materials, especially in English language learning. Furthermore, the integration of information and communication technology (ICT) into the Suggestopedia method is proven to increase the effectiveness of this method in language teaching, especially in improving students' pronunciation and comprehension. In conclusion, Suggestopedia with the support of technology and media can have a significant positive impact on learning outcomes and student attitudes towards the learning process.

Abstract

The research discusses the perceptions of students using Google Docs as a collaborative tool to enhance their writing skills in English. The study employed an online survey using Google Forms, conducted on 50 students from the English education program at Indraprasta University PGRI in the 2021 academic year. The survey results indicated that most respondents found Google Docs to be very useful in collaborative writing practice. They also highlighted the importance of features such as spell checking and real-time revision in supporting the writing process. The study concludes that there is a need for more comprehensive usage guides and training to overcome technical barriers and maximize the potential of Google Docs in improving writing and collaboration skills among college students

Abstract

Speaking English fluently is one of the key components of teaching a language. One of the useful technology tools for raising students' speaking skills is YouTube. Because there is currently not enough research on the effectiveness of the English Singsing YouTube channel in enhancing the speaking skills of learners, this study was carried out. The study aims to explore students' perceptions of improving English speaking Skills through the YouTube Channel “English Singsing”. The design of this study is qualitative. A fourth-semester English student is the study's subject. 14 question questionnaire used as part of the data collection method was modified from Saraswati (2019). The results show that students believe that YouTube is a useful tool for language learning and helps them improve their speaking skills. They believe that the "English Singsing" YouTube channel helps them improve their English vocabulary, grammar, and intonation while also offering interesting and simple-to-understand content. This research shows that it is important to utilize technology, especially YouTube, as an effective tool for improving students' speaking skills.

Abstract

Speaking ability is one of the basic skills that is very important for the development of children, there are many ways that can be done to improve speaking ability in children. One of them is to use songs as a learning medium because listening to songs and singing with children does not feel bored to learn but can make the atmosphere of the class and learning more fun so that the class becomes effective and the material conveyed is well conveyed. Then with this study, the researcher aims to find out the teacher's perception of the use of songs as a learning medium for children. This study aims to see how much the teacher's perception of song media as learning in improving English speaking in children. This study uses a qualitative design method, the instrument in this study is to use interviews with a total of 3 participants. The results of this study indicate that the use of English songs as media in learning is effective when applied in the classroom. By using a variety of songs related to the learning material can help children understand the material. In addition, through the use of songs, children can more quickly find new vocabulary and know how to pronounce the word. Songs can also create an active and effective learning atmosphere.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the role of multicultural education in developing the social and interpersonal competencies of human resources, and how this affects productivity and the ability to compete in the global market. Methods This research used a qualitative approach. The type of research used is descriptive-exploratory, which aims to describe how multicultural education is implemented in formal education and explore its impact on the social abilities and cross-cultural skills of human resources. The result of this research is that multicultural education in Indonesia plays an important role in building the social skills and competencies of human resources who are ready to compete at the global level. This approach includes respect for diversity, implementation of inclusive learning, and development of social skills such as empathy, intercultural communication, and cooperation in diverse teams. Research findings show that multicultural education improves cultural adaptation, critical thinking and professional readiness in a multicultural global work environment. Despite its benefits, its implementation faces challenges such as teachers' lack of understanding and the existence of stereotypes and discrimination.

Abstract

This research was conducted to enhance student’s writing skill of analytical exposition text for 11th grade students of SMA PGRI Cianjur through the use of Grammarly (Generative AI). This research used quantitative research and examined using pre-experimental, pretest-posttest design with one group class, namely 11th IPS grade students to be precise. Grammarly (Generative AI) and Analytical Exposition Text as independent variables and student’s writing skill as dependent v ariable. The instruments that used were writing test and questionnaire via Google form with purposive sampling of 11th grade IPS class consist 11 students from 58 students based on the 11th grade population in total. The result of the test indicates an improvement on student’s writing skill based on the average pretest score shows (75) then the average posttest score shows (80) score, and based on paired sample t- test result where .Sig = 0,02 < 0,05 which means the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (HI) is accepted. The findings were supported by student’s responses in implementing Grammarly Generative AI towards their writing skill with the percentage result shows 63,48% equals Agree category. So, it can be concluded that there is an impact and significant effect of using Grammarly (Generative AI) towards student's writing skill.

Abstract

This study examines the behavior of students from the Faculty of Industrial Technology at Trisakti University in using social media platforms to improve their English-speaking skills. It investigates the frequency, purpose, and impact of social media on their learning process. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. Data collection involved distributing questionnaires to 30 randomly selected respondents via Google Forms and conducting interviews. The collected data were processed according to research protocols and analyzed using multiple linear regression in SPSS 20. The results highlight key trends in student engagement, challenges encountered, and strategies for more effective use of social media for language learning. Factors such as frequency, purpose, accessibility, interactive learning, distractions, and limited feedback were found to significantly influence students’ use of social media to develop their English-speaking skills.

Abstract

This research aims to find out what are the type of autism experience by Raymond in the movie “Rain Man” and to find out how speech production of autistic experience by Raymond. The method used in this research is qualitative and the object studied is the main actor in the film "Rain Man" named Raymond. The researcher collected data from the film and from dialogue transcripts. After the data is obtained then transferred to a computer and listened to many times, then transcribed into conversation. Data were analyze using the theory from Turkington & Anan (2007) to analyze the type of autism and Scovel (1998) to analyze speech production experience by Raymond. Based on this theory, it is known that the main character in the film "Rain Man", namely Raymond, has autistic (high-function), and Raymond has difficulty producing language. He repeated his words, the same phrase, or sentence from the other person when he or she cannot understand the meaning of the conversation. This paper recommended for readers to understand language production in someone with autism, especially for those who have had contact with autistic people in their surrounding environment. And for future researchers who conduct research in the same field, especially those who have the same interest in language disorders in autistic children as a reference or comparison that may be relevant to their research.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify various types of errors made by students of SMP Negeri 76 Jakarta class VIII in making narrative essays and to identify the most dominant types of errors that are often done by students when composing narrative essays. The research approach used in this study is a qualitative approach with descriptive method. After analyzing the errors made by students, the author can draw a conclusion The type of error in using simple past tense most often made by students is misformation (formation error), with a percentage of 73.04%. This error consists of 84 errors out of a total of 115 errors. On the other hand, the least frequent type of verb usage error made by students is misordering, with a percentage of 5.21%, or only 6 errors out of a total of 115. In addition, students also made other errors, such as addition errors at 6.08%, which included 7 errors out of a total of 115, and errors of omission at 15.65%, with a total of 18 errors out of a total of 115.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of mind mapping technique on the ability to write descriptive text essay of grade X students of SMK Negeri 41 Jakarta. The method used in this research is a quantitative method with true experimental. In this study, the authors gave different types of treatment to two study groups, namely the control group involving 33 students from class X AKL-1 and the experimental group involving 33 students from class X AKL-2. The instrument of this research is essay text descriptive written test. Hypothesis testing in this study used t test. The results of this study indicate that there is significant effect on the application of mind mapping techniques on students' descriptive text essay writing skills, where the ttest is 3.569 and the ttable with n = 64 at a significant level of 5% is 1.6990, in the results of this calculation it can be concluded that 3.569> 1.6990 which means ttest > ttable. Then hypothesis testing was held with the t value obtained from ttest = 3.553 and ttable = 1.6690. Thus, this study successfully tested the truth of the hypothesis that there is a significant effect on the application of mind mapping technique on students' descriptive text writing ability compared to those taught using conventional methods.
