Abstract

This research examines sustainable tourism development in Jakarta, which faces significant challenges such as environmental pollution, ecosystem damage, and non-integrated policies. The aim of the research is to understand the dynamics of tourism management and the role of society in creating desires. The methods used included in-depth interviews with 30 informants from various backgrounds, focus group discussions (FGD), and participatory observation. The research results show that although it provides economic benefits, its negative impacts on the environment and social life of society must be overcome through collaboration between government, industry and society. Community involvement in tourism planning has proven important to ensure that policies are appropriate to local needs. This research concludes that tourism policy must be more responsive and integrated, by increasing community participation and awareness of desires. Suggestions for the DKI Jakarta government are to develop educational programs that support desires and involve the community in decision making. Tourists are also expected to better appreciate local culture and the environment in their experiences. Through these steps, tourism development in Jakarta can be carried out in a more sustainable and inclusive manner. Keywords: sustainable tourism, community involvement, environmental management

Abstract

This research aims at describing social media in the ecotourism development in disaster-prone coastal tourism area, Cilacap Regency, especially in Widarapayung Wetan Village. By using a qualitative method through an action research approach, the result of the research indicates that social media is needed for developing ecotourism in that area. Apart from being a means of tourism promotion, social media is also an effective means of supporting the implementation of disaster risk reduction programs in the region. Due to the limited resources available, however, the development of ecotourism through the use of blog as social media still needs to be done gradually and sustainably. In addition, a comparative study to tourist areas in other regions also shows that the development of the ecotourism blog by Pokdarwis PIW is very significant to increase the capacity of disaster-prone coastal communities in the area. Abstract

SSustainable tourism in Indonesia is needed to see the high environmental degradation so that the worst impact causes a decrease in quality, especially in natural tourist destinations in rural areas. The government has made various efforts to implement sustainable tourism, one of which is through the sustainable tourism village certification programme. Currently, only 0.21% of tourist villages have been successfully certified. One of them is West Java Province, which only has 1 certified tourist village, namely Batulayang tourist village in Bogor Regency. Bogor Regency has the largest percentage of pilot tourism villages, which is 12.6% compared to other regions in West Java. This gap is an indication that there is an urgency to conduct deeper research related to the problem of uneven sustainable tourism in the tourist village of Bogor Regency. The purpose of this research is to build a tourism system through a digital platform (smart sustainable tourism) to make it easier for tourism village stakeholders to know and measure the priority of which indicators or indices for improvement so that in the future a sustainable tourism village will be created through appropriate technology. This research method uses a quantitative approach carried out using AHP (Analysis Hieararchy Process) with delphi method. The approach is carried out in order to determine the weight on each indicator that becomes the benchmark for sustainability in tourist villages. Abstract

Apart from providing benefits, the existence of tourist objects can also have a negative impact. However, the possible negative impact can be controlled by applying the Tri Hita Karana concept to tourist objects. A combination of quantitative and qualitative research or commonly called mix method is used in this research. This study aims to analyze the effect of tukad bindu ecotourism on community welfare and to determine the application of Tri Hita Karana in tukad bindu. The results showed that the development of tukad bindu ecotourism did not significantly affect the standard of living of the surrounding community. This is because the development of tukad bindu ecotourism has only been running for two years since 2017. The existence and development of the tukad bindu has a positive effect on the community, especially in the economic, environmental and social aspects of the moderate category. Tri Hita Karana in tukad bindu has been implemented quite well in the moderate category. Keywords: Tukad Bindu; Ecotourism; Tri Hita Karana; Welfare
