Abstract

Pomah Village is one of the villages located in Klaten Regency, Central Java, which is one of the locations held by UNNES GIAT 7. At this time, young voters have an important role in determining their voting rights for the political contestation process. However, not all young people understand and are aware of the importance of political education. Therefore, UNNES GIAT 7 students came up with the idea of a work program in the form of "Peaceful Election Outreach, Anti-Money Politics and Anti-Abstention" to provide an understanding to young voters about the importance of using their voting rights and also anticipate all kinds of actions that deviate from democratic values by avoiding the practice of money politics and abstention. Money politics usually occurs before the election with the mode of regional head candidates or legislative members giving money, basic necessities, rewards and others to the community, so it is consciously considered a corrupt practice. Money politics directly violates the provisions of the UUD 1945 28E paragraph (2). In practice, money politics makes people unable to make choices based on their conscience because they have received rewards from candidates. Therefore, the outreach of peaceful elections can help provide solutions for the community to increase awareness of political participation by implementing rights and obligations and implementing anti-money politics and anti-abstention attitudes in political contestation.

Abstract

Since birth, humans have been attached to human rights as rights they have to be recognized and respected and aimed at realizing the human values given by God Almighty. Equality is a form of human rights, women and men have the same role in government. The government has established a policy for women's representation in government at a minimum of 30%. The real data in Kemiri Village is that women's involvement in government and village organizations has not yet reached 30%. Therefore, it is necessary to increase women's participation in Kemiri Village. The Kemiri Village UNNES KKN Team collaborates with youth youth organizations at the Gondang Satriyan for One Association (PEGASUS). The method used is the case study stage by searching for data and discussions with related parties, the second stage is outreach to youth organizations. As a result of this activity, women have an important role in government, with the privileges they have. The form of discussion carried out also allowed young people to practice expressing their opinions. With this outreach, it is hoped that it will be a step to increase women's involvement in government.

Abstract

Every Indonesian citizen is blessed to receive a proper education, including the children of migrant workers abroad. Until now, there has not been much attention to education for the children of migrant workers. Sanggar Sentul Kuala Lumpur exists as a forum to facilitate non-formal education for the children of migrant workers in Kuala Lumpur and its surroundings. The non-formal education carried out at Sanggar Sentul has certainly not run optimally due to several limitations such as infrastructure, the relatively diverse age range of children, and the lack of a systematic curriculum being implemented. One of the learning activities that is rarely carried out is practicum in science subjects considering that there are not yet adequate practicum facilities there. Based on these problems, the community service team of Universitas Negeri Semarang carried out practical science training for students at Sanggar Sentul in an effort to improve the quality of learning for the children of migrant workers who attend school there. The activity was carried out by training studio students in three simple experiments: the Archimedes experiment, making buildings from straws, and making lava lamps. The students were very enthusiastic about participating in the practicum. Apart from that, this activity also received a very good assessment from students.

Abstract

Stunting is a condition of failed growth caused by nutritional deficiencies in children. It is important to understand the contributing factors, such as imbalanced diets and inadequate nutrient intake during the first 1,000 days of life. Clean and healthy lifestyles also play a crucial role in preventing stunting. Practices of hygiene, sanitation, and healthy eating can help optimize children's growth and development. Community education on environmental cleanliness, the importance of clean water, and the role of nutrition in child growth can help reduce the prevalence of stunting. Stunting is one of the major obstacles to child development, and in the Dalangan Village area, Tulung District, Klaten Regency, there are several children affected by stunting, totaling 11 children. Therefore, we, the seventh group of community service students from UNNES, conducted a task assigned to us to create an educational program on stunting and its prevention by distributing the Supplementary Feeding Program (PMT) to these children. Food distribution to the children was carried out on December 17, 2023, in Dalangan Village. The method of implementing this stunting education activity involved delivering materials by students from the Community Service Program at Semarang State University. This activity was well received and positively supported by the Dalangan Village government because it aligns with the village's work program, which aims to raise awareness among the community about the importance of early childhood development and health.

Abstract

Environmental damage is often found to be a global issue today. One of the causes of ecological problems is the use of cooking oil. Used cooking oil is oil that is repeatedly used and no longer used. The negative impact if used cooking oil is thrown directly into the environment without processing it first is very large, such as environmental pollution, thereby damaging the aquatic ecosystem. However, public awareness about managing this waste still needs to be improved. This community service activity aims to increase public knowledge of the impact of using and disposing of used cooking oil on body health and the environment and provide education regarding making aromatherapy candles using used cooking oil waste. This community service activity was carried out on August 1, 2023, at Karanganyar Village Hall, Bantarbolang District, Pemalang Regency. PKK women attended this activity in 6 hamlets in Karanganyar Village. Educational activities include presenting material to service providers and practicing making aromatherapy candles from used cooking oil. As a result of this service, all participants understand the negative impacts of used cooking oil that need to be avoided and how to process used cooking oil into aromatherapy candles. Some participants were even interested in making the product an independent business.

Abstract

Early marriage and juvenile delinquency are two phenomena that often traverse different paths but have the potential to cast a dark shadow on the social development of society. Early marriage and juvenile delinquency are not simply social phenomena that can be ignored; both haunt the future of the younger generation and place a heavy burden on the well-being of society as a whole. In this article, we will explore in depth the dangers of early marriage and juvenile delinquency, uncover the roots of the problem, and detail the negative impacts on individual and societal development. In this community activity, the UNNES GIAT 6 KKN Team and the Gunung Village Government collaborated to carry out an outreach with the theme "The Dangers of Early Marriage and Juvenile Delinquency" which was held on Sunday 26 November 2023 at the courtyard of the Gunung Village Hall. In this activity several methods were applied, namely brain storming, lectures by presenters or resource persons, discussions with participants, and quizzes with prizes held by KKN students. Religious leaders have an important role in preventing early marriage and juvenile delinquency. Some of the roles of religious leaders in dealing with the dangers of early marriage and juvenile delinquency are moral and ethical approaches, spiritual guidance, religious and ethical education, prevention of early marriage, women's empowerment.

Abstract

The Yatim Putri Aisyiyah Orphanage Branch in West City strives to provide the children in the orphanage with the knowledge and life skills necessary for independent and morally upright living in the future. This preparation serves as a means for the orphanage children to have a bright future and be beneficial to others. There are several types of simple processed food products that can be made by the girls in the orphanage, such as bangsren, galantin, dim sum, risoles, sausages, croquettes, cilok, and so on. The vacuum frozen model is chosen as the packaging for the products, ensuring that they can be stored for a long time, easily carried, and marketed through digital-based social media. The method of implementing community service is done by combining counseling, training, practice, and mentoring. The results of community service activities are as follows: (1) The Yatim Putri Aisyiyah children have gained knowledge about entrepreneurship and insight into independent living without relying on others. (2) The Yatim Putri Aisyiyah children have mastered productive life skills in the production and marketing of light processed products using social media as preparation for their future after leaving the orphanage.
