Abstract

The era of educational revolution 4.0 and society 5.0 requires students to have research skills. An independent curriculum with a new learning paradigm enables the realization of student research skills and a research culture in schools. The current condition of students' research skills in Rembang is still low. Meanwhile, in Rembang there is the Indonesian Teachers Association (IGI) community which can be empowered to become partners in realizing a research culture in schools. It is necessary to provide teachers with learning models that can facilitate students doing research. through the application of the Differentiate Indirect Learning (DIF-IN-LE) learning model with a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) approach. The objectives of this service activity are (1) to equip IGI Rembang administrators in holding fun and meaningful training for teachers, (2) to equip teachers with the knowledge and skills to innovate in implementing the DIF-IN-LE learning model with a STEM approach, in fostering a research culture in students and school. The solution to the problems in this service is by applying training and facilitation methods to partner groups, so that they are skilled at designing and implementing the DIF-IN-LE learning model with a STEM approach for teachers in Rembang. Activity design uses the facilitation-based 4M Genre model (Genre 4M-F). The service activity plan consists of preparation, implementation and evaluation stages. The results of the activity show an increase in teachers' abilities in designing learning that can foster research skills for students

Abstract

21st-century learning requires all teachers to implement learning that integrates information and communication technology (ICT). The use of ICT in learning can be realized well if teachers can integrate technology, knowledge, and pedagogical expertise in teaching or what is known as Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK). One way to apply TPACK in learning is to develop Augmented Reality-based learning media. Teachers at MTs PPMI Assalaam have not mastered and applied technology in learning, especially Augmented Reality-based learning media. Based on this situation, the service team felt it was essential to increase TPACK knowledge and prepare Augmented Reality-based learning media through training. The results of the pretest and posttest after training showed an increase, and the participants' response to the service activities through a satisfaction questionnaire was said to be very good.

Abstract

One of the main problems currently faced is the threat of a food crisis caused by the shrinking of food production land. The core members of the Family Welfare Program (PKK) in Gemolong Village, located in an area rich in various types of food crops, including jackfruit, are addressing this issue. Jackfruit seeds are mostly used by boiling and consuming them personally. The utilization of jackfruit seed waste has not been optimal, even though jackfruit seeds contain high nutritional value. Jackfruit seed waste can be processed into flour. Jackfruit seed flour has the potential to be used as a raw material for various food products, such as bread, cakes, or noodles, providing a solution to reduce organic waste and serve as an alternative food source. The community service method was carried out through a combination of lectures and practical assistance in processing jackfruit seed waste into flour and products such as noodles and lidah kucing cookies. The activities were conducted over two days in March 2024. The participants were 20 women from the PKK in Gemolong Village. The training was successful and had a positive impact on the participants. The activities increased the knowledge and skills of the PKK women in processing jackfruit seeds into flour, which was then used to create economically valuable food products like noodles and lidah kucing cookies, providing an alternative solution to address the food crisis.

Abstract

The internet use in Indonesia, particularly among women, has shown significant growth, with a penetration rate reaching 49.1% in 2024. However, this increase has not been matched by a corresponding rise in digital literacy, especially in discerning accurate information, which remains low among housewives. This is evident from various cases of hoax dissemination where women were the primary perpetrators. To address this issue, this community service initiative focuses on the Muslimat NU group in Sayung District, most of whose members are women over 45 years old and active on social media and messaging apps like WhatsApp and Facebook. This program aims to empower and improve the community's well-being by enhancing digital literacy through social media literacy, particularly in knowledge and competency for older women using social media. This group was selected because its characteristics reflect those of "digital immigrants," who are vulnerable to spreading hoaxes due to limited understanding of information and communication technology (ICT) and reside in an area experiencing a digital divide. The activities were conducted using a Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) approach, relying on lectures, discussions, and interactive brainstorming sessions with participants. The results showed that the Social Media Literacy Strengthening Program to Avoid Hoaxes for Muslimat NU members in Demak Regency increased participants' awareness and skills, with pretest scores rising from 45% to 53% in posttest results. Thus, this program has provided participants with valuable knowledge to combat the spread of invalid information on social media.

Abstract

The peri-urban area of Semarang City, particularly Pakintelan Village, Gunungpati District, has experienced rapid residential growth over the past decade. However, this growth has not been accompanied by adequate waste management infrastructure, especially for household organic waste. Many residents still dispose of or burn organic waste such as food scraps and vegetables, which negatively impacts the environment and public health. To address this issue, this community service initiative aimed to enhance residents' capacity to process organic waste into environmentally friendly and economically valuable products. The methodology involved in-depth interviews with neighborhood leaders to identify key issues, followed by a literature review to develop educational materials, and concluded with practical training on producing eco-enzyme from household kitchen waste. The program ran smoothly and received enthusiastic participation from the community. Residents showed a strong interest in applying eco-enzyme production in their daily lives. Moving forward, further research is recommended on developing a community-based organic waste management system, as not all residents have the space or time to process waste independently
