Abstract

Education and socialization of clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) is one of the important efforts to maintain environmental cleanliness and health. One behavior that needs serious attention is the habit of littering. The purpose of this counseling activity (PHBS) is to encourage the community to dispose of waste in its place which is carried out through direct communication in the Sukaraja Village community. The data processing method used in this activity is SPSS software, to make it easier to detect the data. Based on the results of data processing, it was found that 67.5% of respondents still burned waste because the community did not know how to properly manage waste while 12% of respondents said that they littered because there was no landfill, and 8.4% of respondents disposed of waste by piling it up because the community did not know how to properly manage waste and 4.8% of respondents threw waste in the river. Based on the data obtained, it can be concluded that the community still burns waste because the landfill has not been provided, but we can take this from this counseling and education activity to encourage the community to change healthy behavior such as disposing of waste in its place.

Abstract

This study aims to educate 1st to 3rd-grade students at SDN 3 Abab about the importance of Clean and Healthy Behavior (PHBS), particularly in washing hands correctly. The methods used include lectures, discussions, simulations, and monitoring the effectiveness of the program. The results show an improvement in the students' understanding of PHBS. Additionally, a survey in Betung Barat Village revealed that the majority of the community works as farmers with low incomes. Although basic infrastructure such as toilets is relatively adequate, 9% of households still lack proper sanitation. Adherence to posyandu activities is also low, with 56.7% of families regularly participating. This research uses a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative techniques to measure the impact of health education on community behavior. Overall, the study emphasizes the need for economic strengthening, improved access to healthcare, and optimization of maternal and child health services as steps to improve community welfare.

Abstract

Early marriage remains a significant issue in Karang Agung Village, influenced by various factors, including low education levels. This study aims to analyze the role of education in reducing early marriage rates in the area. The research employed a quantitative survey method by distributing questionnaires to 30 respondents, with data analyzed using SPSS software. The results indicate that most respondents who entered early marriage had low educational backgrounds, with the primary reasons being lack of education (30%), cultural or traditional influences (26.7%), and other unspecified factors (43.3%). Additionally, social media (50%) was the main source of information about early marriage, while schools also played a significant role in education (43.3%). Social environments contributed to the decision to marry early for more than half of the respondents (56.7%). These findings suggest that improving access to and the quality of education can be an effective strategy for reducing early marriage rates. Therefore, stronger policies and educational programs in schools, along with broader social awareness campaigns through various media, are necessary to increase public awareness of the negative impacts of early marriage.

Abstract

Proper drug use, especially regarding the timing of consumption, is an important aspect of rational and effective therapy. Unfortunately, the rural community's understanding of the right time to take medicine is still low, which can affect the success of treatment. This community service activity was carried out in Kamal Village, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, with the aim of increasing the knowledge and awareness of the community regarding the correct timing of drug consumption. The methods used in this activity include direct counseling through educational lectures, simulations, leaflet distribution, and interactive discussions with residents and village health cadres. Evaluation was conducted using a simple pre-test and post-test to assess the improvement of participants' knowledge. The evaluation results showed a significant increase in understanding, from an average pre-test score of 64% to 92% in the post-test. In addition to increasing understanding, this activity also succeeded in raising community awareness to be more critical and active in asking health workers about the timing of drug consumption. The advantages of this activity are its participatory and community-based approach, although there are obstacles such as limited visual aids and uneven accessibility of participants. Overall, this counseling was effective in improving health literacy related to drug use in the village community.
