Abstract

The management of HIV/AIDS cases in correctional facilities faces various challenges related to medical confidentiality, social stigma, and limited healthcare facilities. This study aims to examine the implementation of medical confidentiality in HIV/AIDS management in correctional facilities, considering both medical ethics and legal perspectives. Prisons, as detention centers that tend to be overcrowded, are high- risk environments for the spread of infectious diseases, including HIV/AIDS. The stigma associated with prisoners infected with HIV/AIDS often prevents them from accessing necessary healthcare services, further complicating their treatment. This study analyzes existing regulations concerning medical confidentiality, as well as the obstacles that arise in the practice of HIV/AIDS management in correctional facilities, with a focus on health policies and the role of medical staff in balancing confidentiality and disease prevention. The results of the study indicate that clear policies regarding the management of medical information are essential to prevent violations of prisoners' rights, as well as to facilitate more effective prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS.

Abstract

Arbitration is an alternative methode of dispute resolution for business conflicts, as regulated in Law Number 30 of 1999 concerning Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution. This study aims to analyze the advantages and challenges of arbitration in resolving business disputes in Indonesia. The findings indicate that arbitration offers several key advantages, including a faster process, more controlled costs, confidentiality, and final and binding decisions. However, its implementation still faces challenges, such as a lack of understanding among business actors regarding arbitration mechanisms, difficulties in enforcing arbitral awards, and, in some cases, higher costs compared to litigation in court. To optimize the role of arbitration, further socialization efforts, reforms in award enforcement, capacity building for arbitrators, and the simplification of regulations related to arbitration costs are necessary. With these measures, arbitration can become one of solution for resolving business disputes in Indonesia.

Abstract

After the hijrah from Makkah to Medina in 622 AD, Rasulullah SAW built a society that astonished the world at that time. His leadership was not only able to create social and political stability, but also had an impact on the existence of two major world powers, namely the Byzantine Empire and the Persian Sassanid Dynasty. This research aims to examine the governance of the Prophet Muhammad in Medina with two main focuses: (1) whether the community of Medina at that time could be categorized as a state, and (2) whether the principles of good governance had been applied in the leadership of the Prophet Muhammad. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, which is supported by historical and normative literature studies from primary and secondary sources such as the Qur'an, Hadith, and classical and modern literature. The results showed that the Medina community during the time of the Prophet Muhammad had fulfilled the main elements of a state, namely territory, people, government, binding law, and recognition from other parties. In addition, the Prophet's governance has reflected the principles of good governance, including: community participation, law enforcement, transparency, justice, equality, efficiency, accountability, responsiveness, and strategic vision. The discussion further emphasized that the specialty of the Prophet's government lies in its spiritual foundation, namely divine revelation (Al-Qur'an) and sunnah as the main guidelines. His leadership was not only administrative-political, but also moral and ethical. His legal system emphasized justice, equal rights, and individual and collective responsibility before God. The practice of professionalism, accountability, and transparency is evident in public policies and the implementation of government administration. The government of the Prophet Muhammad in Medina can be used as an ideal model of governance that upholds moral and human values.

Abstract

This study is motivated by issues in the quality of school management at SMK IT Cahaya Peradaban, particularly concerning inefficiencies in the execution of duties by educators and education personnel. The problems stem from a lack of structured documentation, unclear responsibilities, and overlapping tasks, resulting in low work efficiency and difficulty in performance measurement. The aim of this research is to develop a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) that is valid, practical, and effective in improving the quality of task execution within the school environment. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D), involving stages such as problem identification, SOP development based on literature and expert input, validation by expert validators, revision, user training, field testing, and dissemination of results. The findings reveal that the developed SOP is highly valid (average score 4.26), highly practical (average score 4.29), and highly effective (effectiveness score 89.63). The SOP provides a clear, structured, and applicable guide for daily task implementation. Its implementation is expected to enhance work efficiency, reduce task overlaps, and improve overall school governance.

Abstract

The tradition of gotong royong (mutual cooperation) is a deeply rooted cultural value in Indonesian society that reflects the spirit of solidarity, togetherness, and collective responsibility. As an integral part of local wisdom, it needs to be preserved and revitalized, especially among the younger generation. One of the key community-based youth organizations, Karang Taruna, holds a strategic role in empowering village communities and supporting national development. However, in practice, the intensity of gotong royong within the activities of Karang Taruna Ngudi Luhur in Kaliwungu Village remains relatively low. This study aims to explore the underlying factors contributing to the low participation in mutual cooperation activities and identify strategic efforts to enhance involvement. The research employed qualitative methods, including observation and interviews, to obtain comprehensive data. The data were analyzed using a descriptive qualitative approach. The findings revealed that low participation stems from both internal and external factors. Internal factors include an individualistic mindset, weak organizational management, and personal interests or job-related time constraints. External factors include cultural shifts, the erosion of traditional values, rapid technological development, socio-economic transformations, and insufficient support from local government authorities. To overcome these challenges, several strategic approaches were proposed: designing an annual activity program, evaluating existing activities, and delegating responsibilities based on individual competencies. Other strategies involve improving communication by leveraging digital platforms, implementing personal and persuasive approaches to members, and fostering collaboration with various stakeholders. These efforts aim to rebuild a culture of gotong royong that is adaptive to modern changes while still rooted in traditional values.

Abstract

The insurance industry holds a vital role in the Islamic financial system by supporting risk management and contributing to the stability of the financial sector. One of the fundamental components underpinning the legitimacy and operation of sharia-compliant insurance (takaful) in Indonesia is the issuance of fatwas by the National Sharia Council – Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI). This paper aims to analyze the urgency and significance of DSN-MUI fatwas as a foundation of fiqh muamalah (Islamic commercial jurisprudence) in fostering the growth and institutional development of the sharia insurance industry in Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach with a content analysis method, this study examines each fatwa in detail by contextualizing it within the current and historical development of the sharia insurance industry. The findings reveal that there are fourteen fatwas issued by the DSN-MUI that specifically address various aspects of sharia insurance. These fatwas can be categorized into three main domains. First, fatwas that address the conceptual and systemic framework of sharia insurance. Second, fatwas that discuss the contracts used in sharia insurance operations, such as akad tabarru’, wakalah, and mudharabah. Third, fatwas that govern the types and characteristics of specific sharia insurance products. These three domains form a comprehensive and cohesive legal foundation that supports the implementation, regulation, and innovation of the sharia insurance sector in Indonesia. Furthermore, these fatwas play a strategic role in legitimizing the industry, guiding stakeholders, and ensuring the alignment of insurance practices with Islamic legal and ethical principles.

Abstract

Technological development undoubtedly affects various aspects of life, with technology being introduced to provide convenience and save time. In response to the changing times, society must grow and adapt accordingly. Educational digitalization is a form of adaptation to technological advancement, aiming to facilitate access to knowledge. However, several challenges must be addressed in this digital era, such as unequal access to technology, limited devices and network infrastructure, and the varying readiness of human resources. This research employs a qualitative approach using the library research method. This method was chosen to allow the researcher to review and analyze relevant sources in order to understand how educational management can respond to the challenges posed by digital transformation. In Indonesia, educational digitalization is no longer merely a technical issue but has become part of the national policy agenda, as it plays a key role in the broader transformation of the education system. To face these challenges, educational management is required to take on a strategic role in designing and implementing policies that can effectively respond to ongoing issues. While digitalization offers various conveniences and efficiencies, its implementation still faces considerable obstacles, particularly in terms of infrastructure readiness, the competence of human resources, and school-level management capacity.

Abstract

This study analyzes the use of insect symbolism in the Netflix series 3 Body Problems, which is adapted from a novel by Liu Cixin. In the series, insects are used as symbols with deep meaning, representing themes of resilience, existence, and interspecies interaction. Using Roland Barthes' semiotic approach, this study aims to explore the denotative and connotative meanings of insect symbols and how these symbols convey social and philosophical messages to the audience. Through the analysis of several scenes featuring insects, the research shows that the symbol not only functions as a visual element, but also as a means to reflect on social issues such as injustice, existential threat, and environmental crisis. The research findings reveal that insects in 3 Body Problems function as a metaphor for human resilience in the face of great challenges, as well as a symbol of Tricolaris' pessimistic view of humanity. This research provides insights into how symbolism in media can enrich the audience's understanding of social issues and influence the way they view the world.
