Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of teaching fiqh using lecture and practice methods at Ar Rahman Middle School. Even this research was carried out only within the scope of certain classes, namely class VII, VIII, and IX. The researcher also wanted to know which method had more influence on the learning outcomes of SMP Ar Rahman students and which method was preferred by the students. The researcher used a quantitative research using a survey method. The quantitative method is a type of scientific research based on the philosophy of positivism. The data collection techniques used were interviews and observations. The results of our research show that the implementation of fiqh lessons for grades VII, VIII, and IX is carried out in one place and delivered by the same teacher, and is carried out in one place as well as one time. meeting in a week i.e. on Friday only. We see that the practical method has a greater influence on this learning compared to the lecture method. It is very important to learn fiqh from a young age in order to better understand the scientific disciplines that study and describe the basic legal norms regarding Islam and according to the Sunnah of the Prophet. Of course the hope of achieving this learning is that students can practice it in everyday life and it is hoped that it will continue to be embedded in students.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the lecture method in enhancing students' learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education at SMP Hidayatullah Medan. Through a quantitative approach, the study involved collecting data on students' performance and engagement before and after implementing the lecture method. A total of 80 students participated, divided into experimental and control groups. The findings reveal that the lecture method significantly improved students' comprehension of Islamic education topics, especially in aspects that required a deep understanding of religious knowledge and values. Teachers observed a notable increase in students' participation and focus during lessons. This method also provided structured guidance, making complex Islamic teachings more accessible. Thus, the study concludes that the lecture method, if applied effectively, can positively influence students' academic achievements in Islamic Religious Education. However, it suggests that a balanced approach, integrating other interactive techniques, may enhance its effectiveness further.

Abstract

Moral education in the Islamic perspective plays a vital role in shaping individuals with noble character based on the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah. This study aims to analyze the concept of moral education from both theoretical and practical perspectives, emphasizing its fundamental principles, objectives, and implementation in daily life as well as in formal and non-formal education. The method employed is a literature review with a descriptive-analytical approach, exploring the thoughts of classical and contemporary scholars on moral education. The findings reveal that moral education in Islam is not only oriented towards individual behavioral formation but also towards the development of a complete personality (insan kamil) capable of facing the challenges of globalization without losing Islamic identity. This research recommends strengthening moral education across various domains—family, school, and society—as a solution to the moral crisis faced by the younger generation.
