The aim of the Conference on Design Manufacture Engineering and Its Application (CDMA) is to provide a scientific platform for researchers, academics, and professionals to share and disseminate original research, innovative ideas, and practical developments in the fields of design engineering, manufacturing technology, and their multidisciplinary applications. CDMA welcomes the submission of theoretical and empirical papers that aim to advance knowledge, challenge conventional practices, and offer new insights into areas such as product design, manufacturing systems, industrial automation, materials engineering, and related domains. Submissions may employ various methodological approaches, including experimental research, modeling and simulation, qualitative studies, and data-driven analysis.

Abstract

Abstract - Scheduling is needed to run the project optimally, efficiently and according to the planned schedule. There are several factors that make the project late. The causes are ineffective working hours, late arrival of materials, and high work productivity. Waste water treatment plan is one of the many projects undertaken by PT.Samudra Mas Nusantara. In this project there was a delay of 34 days from the planned duration of 75 days to 109 days. The scheduling method used is the Precedence Diagram Method. The duration of project completion is accelerated by analyzing the acceleration of each activity. The s-curve is used to see the progress of the project each week. The results of the research show that there is 1 critical path, namely the path with activities A-B1-B2-C1-C2-D111-D121-D131- D141-D21-D22-D23-D24-D25-E1-E4-F-G H. The duration of the activity can be accelerated by 35 days from 109 days to 74 days with an increase in costs of 3.03% from Rp.1,822,201,012- up to Rp1,877,287,312,-.

Abstract

Abstract - Increasing production quantity is the company's effort to increase the scope of production, to maximize the potential for greater product sales. The Make to Order (MTO) system used for largescale product orders has an impact on uncertain production forecasts so that good planning is needed to reach the targets. Furniture factories that have a target market for product exports, need a production time that is in accordance with the capacity of the factory. Determination of standard time is one way to increase production results. The time and motion study (TMS) method can determine the standard time by recording production tracks to get maximum production results. The results of this study indicate that the total standard time for the one seater margaret is 3,851.08 seconds. Production time for 500 products takes 67 production working days, 1000 products takes 134 production working days and 1500 products takes 201 production working days. Production calculation time using TMS has accelerated time by 11.03%, which is 477.92 seconds, compared to the existing production time, namely there is an increase in production with production acceleration of up to 9 days on 500 margaret one seater products

Abstract

Abstract - PT. XYZ is a state-owned company engaged in EPC (Engineering-ProcurementConstruction) projects. PT. XYZ is currently working on one of the MRMP post-harvest infrastructure development projects. The company's year-end evaluation showed that the MRMP project was delayed and resulted in the company being reprimanded. Project time optimization analysis is needed to know how much time an project can be completed. This research is conducted to find out the optimum time needed to complete a project using the PERT method and to find out the optimum cost of project acceleration using the Crashing method. The optimum time needed in the work of the MRMP project with the calculation of Crash Duration by dividing the volume of work by daily productivity after crashing using 4 hours of overtime is for 369 days. While the optimum cost obtained from the results of the calculation of costs in the normal duration of Rp 67,562,451,004, - accelerated by 4 hours of overtime to Rp67.643.894.081,- obtained a difference of Rp 81.443.657,-. Based on the difference in cost, the optimal cost is Rp67.643.894.081,-. Based on the acceleration of overtime of 4 hours there is an additional cost of Rp 71,298,325, - in the initial budget planning of the project. The cost incurred for labor wages on the accelerated schedule is greater than 49,03 % of labor wages on the duration of the plan.

Abstract

Abstract - Scheduling is an important aspect in the company to manage the length of production process time so as not to experience delays. Moulding Company is a manufacturing industry company with a production flow of job shop. The company's scheduling system on the manufacture of Injection Mould Base Frypan Handle is delayed where there is a non-achievable duration between actual production and planned production, to be able to obtain a solution to this problem, the proposed method, namely the Genetic Algorithm. The Genetic Algorithm method was chosen because this method does not have special criteria found in other heuristic algorithms, so the computation time is relatively shorter. Calculations on the Genetic Algorithm method using Microsoft Excel and MATLAB R2016a media. The calculation of the Genetic Algorithm method produces the optimal job operation flow, namely : 6-17-7-21-15-24-23-14-1-8-10-22-18-11-20-2-13-16-5-19-4-12-9-3. In addition, costs of Genetic Algorithm method decreased by 44% or Rp. 3,401,891, - more economical than company scheduling.

Abstract

Abstract - Construction company in Karangpilang received an order for the Flue Stack project. There was a delay on this project, so the company has to pay a fine of 0,2% of the initial contract which is calculated everyday. Therefore, research is needed to analyze project scheduling so that optimal time and cost are obtained from working on the Flue Stack project. The methods used in this study are the Time Cost Trade Off method. Crashing is carried out on several critical activities, such as marking/cutting, roll, assembly ring, blasing/primer, assembly segment, finish painting, and packing. This research used an alternative to crashing with additional overtime and labor. The results of this research obtained the optimal time and cost using Time Cost Trade Off method with alternative additional 50% labor. The result of crash duration is less 74 days from actual schedule, with cost Rp.3.805.459.099,- there is a decreased of 13,58% or Rp.597.910.301,- from the actual duration fee of Rp.4.403.369.400,-. Comparison of flue stack progress using the S curve, it was found that the schedule with accelerated duration could be completed faster that the actual duration because the more sloping line indicated greater weekly progress

Abstract

Abstract - One of the manufacturing companies in Indonesia is developing a modern rice mill plant (MRMP) project in Jember. The infrastructure development of the project requires some planning, one of which is a good layout design. The layout design in the project has problems including the arrangement of machinery that is not in accordance with the production flow, the utilization of the available area is not maximized, and does not pay attention to the close relationship between facilities so that it will cause back tracking and excessive movement that will harm the company. Solving these problems can be done by designing a new facility layout using the Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) method. The results of the research using this method were obtained as many as 4 layout proposals, then one layout proposal was chosen, namely layout 4. The selected layout proposal has a difference in OMH value and total material handling mileage with the highest initial layout and can increase efficiency in material handling by 28.88 % on total material handling mileage and 37.47% efficiency on material handling costs per day.

Abstract

Lift aircraft are an important part of the fabrication industry so they become more efficient in terms of time and power. In a fabrication industry the manufacture of C canals the buildup process is still done manually with two people. So that there is a need for a lift aircraft to facilitate the preparation of C canals with dimensions of 45 cm x 49 cm x 600 cm or a total weight of 900 kg to be more efficient. The method used in the manufacture of this machine concept is ulrich method and then continued by analyzing the calculation of the engine and skeletal analysis. The analysis was conducted on this study using Fusion 360 software. The planning results were obtained by the conveyor engine using a 0.75 kW electric motor and using a 6.78 Nm stepper motor for rack gear shafts. The material used for the frame is the ASTM A36 and for the shaft is S45C. The result of the analysis on the upper frame is 44.93 MPa, for the lower frame is 48.09 MPa and for the towing profile is 39.26 MPa. The total cost for the manufacture of auto stacking machines is obtained from the calculation of rawmaterial costs and manufacturing costs. At the cost of raw materials making this machine amounted to Rp 99,062,000, while for manufacturing costs amounting to Rp 5,610,000. So that the total cost for manufacturing amounted to Rp 104,672,000.

Abstract

Along with the population growth that increases every year in Indonesia, The more electrical energy needs that must be distributed to each user. The use of electrical energy in Indonesia is still a lot that uses limited fuel sources which can run out over time. Meanwhile, Indonesia has a lot of renewable energy potential, such as the use of rivers or irrigation channels as a source of renewable energy. This research is to design and build a screw turbine using irrigation channels to turn it into electrical energy. In the process of product design and development in this study using the Ulrich method by comparing 3 product concepts and in this study, the first concept was chosen because it was considered in accordance with the needs, including easy fabrication, good function, good portability andlower costs than existing products. For the performance test results made with an irrigation environment that has a current speed of 086 m/s, the resulting generator output is 69.7V, 0.56A and the generator rotation is 357.3 rpm. For the total cost of production HPP (cost of goods manufactured) of Rp. 5,343,000,-

Abstract

It can be known that in the efforts to maintain and repair the railway, especially in the process of replacing the old rail into a new rail, sometimes overall still using human power or conventional means. However, there are generally tools used for the rail change process. The tool used for rail change is with rail mover. The use of rail movers is limited to the removal of rails only, while for the transfer of rails from one place to another by transporting by human power. So that in the process of working on the rails become less efficient. In addition, it only has one hook block, meaning that in one operation it can only move one rail. With such conditions, researchers will conduct a rail mover product development. The design result obtained safety factor H Beam has a value of 9,985 , deformation value of H Beam of 0.093368 mm, top buckling support value 50,465 times and bottom support 176.94 times, pin shear stress value of 7,618 N/mm2, hydraulic pressure value of 636.97 N/cm2 and scissor able to lift weight 36,440.59 N at highest position and can lift load 9,739.42 N at lowest position. The need for the number of rail movers used in the operation of the lifting and moving of the railway is as much as 1 piece of rail mover. The total cost for the manufacture of rail movers is obtained from the calculation of raw material costs and manufacturing costs. In the cost of raw materials for the manufacture of rail mover is Rp15,678,427 while for manufacturing costs of Rp13,350,000.

Abstract

The PPNS outboard engine laboratory is one of the learning media for marine engineering majors, it has a practical support tool for the process of moving machines outside the hull of the ship using manual material handling, it's just that it has dimensions that are not in accordance with the conditions of the laboratory layout. So it is necessary to redesign the tool to facilitate the transfer of the outboard engine from the laboratory to the test pool. A hydraulic crane with a capacity, strength and dimensions that are tailored to the needs of the outboard engine laboratory. The calculation and planning of the hydraulic crane structure made from ASTM A871-65 material using the design method has been carried out. The result is a detailed working drawing (detail drawing) with tool dimensions specifications 1526x867x1580 mm made from ASTM A871-65. On the boom hydraulic crane, the maximum stress compared to the allowable stress of the safe/strong material is 164,014 N/mm2 < 298,667 N/mm2, the support structure is safe from bending because the loading force is greater than the working force of the support at 5747005,567 N > 5559,82731 N, at leg structure calculation of safe crane stability where the length of the boom is shorter than the length of the leg (fork), there is no disturbing moment. The total budget plan for making tools is Rp. 1,992,000. The data from the design and budget plan are used as guidelines for the manufacture of hydraulic cranes.
