Abstract

This study aims to examine the visual form of the Makassar Badik through the perspective of Clive Bell's aesthetic theory (significant form). Badik, as a cultural heritage of South Sulawesi, not only functions as a means of defense but also as a symbol of identity, honor, and social values ​​of the Makassar community. This study uses a qualitative-descriptive method, with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observations, and document studies. The data validation technique used is triangulation. The data is then analyzed qualitatively by grouping the findings into themes. The results of this study indicate that every part of the Badik, starting from the pangulu, the blade, to the banoang, is able to create a deep aesthetic and emotional experience for the community and its observers. This study confirms that the Makassar Badik not only functions as a weapon, but also as a work of art that is full of cultural, spiritual, and social values.

Abstract

The law-making process in Indonesia should ideally reflect the principles of transparency, public participation, and accountability. However, in practice, it is often found that legislation is enacted hastily without adequate involvement of the public. This situation causes public unrest, triggers a crisis of legal legitimacy, and diminishes trust in legislative institutions. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The number of respondents involved in this study is 5. The aim of this research is to explore public perceptions of the hasty law-making process and its impact on public trust and legal legitimacy. The findings of this study are expected to provide valuable input for policymakers to improve the legislative mechanism to be more participatory and transparent. The results of the study show that the majority of people in Jalan William Iskandar Pasar V, Deli Serdang, Sumatra Utara Regency, have a negative perception of the hasty and non-transparent legislative process. They feel excluded, lack access to information, and believe that the laws created do not reflect the aspirations of the public. This research concludes that the legitimacy crisis arises due to the lack of participation and transparency, and therefore, it is recommended that future legislative processes be more inclusive, fair, and aligned with the principles of participatory democracy

Abstract

Short stories are a type of short prose work that is imaginative. Short stories only have one plot, one theme, and character characters. Therefore, the difficulty of peseta didik that often arises in learning the skill of writing short story texts is the difficulty of plot and theme. The problem in this study is how to apply learning to write short ceita texts through the image streaming method in grade X students of SMA PGRI 2 Palembang. The purpose of this study is to find out the application of learning to write short story texts through the image streaming method in grade X students of SMA PGRI 2 Palembang. The method of this research is a quantitative experiment. The results of this study show that the image streaming method has the application of the image streaming learning method in learning to write short story texts in grade X students of SMA PGRI 2 Palembang in learning outcomes. Therefore, the image streaming learning method can be applied in Indonesian learning.

Abstract

This research focuses on analyzing the different types of social violence that arise in schools, with a particular focus on bullying and catcalling among students. This research was carried out through two community service programs organized by Public Health Science students from the State Islamic University of North Sumatra (UINSU) at SMPN 34 Medan and SMAN 5 Binjai. The method used is a descriptive quantitative approach with data collection through questionnaires and interviews. The results of the study show that bullying is still an important problem at the junior high school level, especially in verbal form, while catcalling occurs a lot in high school and is influenced by social aspects such as peers and social media. The effects of these two behaviors are detrimental to students' mental health, including causing stress, anxiety, and decreased academic achievement. Although some schools have implemented prevention programs, more efforts are still needed to improve the effectiveness of their implementation. This study recommends the need for continuous education, active involvement of teachers, and cooperation between schools and parents to create a safe learning environment and support the mental development of students.

Abstract

Tari Marcok is a traditional performance that represents the healing ritual process of the community in Sungai Bungkal Subdistrict, Sungai Penuh City. However, many members of the community still do not fully understand the meanings behind the signs presented in this performance. This study generally aims to explore the presentation form of Tari Marcok and how it represents the values of the healing ritual embodied within it. A qualitative approach was employed, with the object of research being Tari Marcok created by Iskandar Zakaria. Data were obtained through direct observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and literature studies. The theoretical frameworks used in this research include Ferdinand de Saussure’s semiotic theory to reveal the meaning of signs, Marcel Danesi’s concept of representation, and Sal Murgiyanto’s ideas to examine the role of dance within society. The findings show that Tari Marcok represents the values of the healing ritual through elements such as movement, properties, chants, and costumes—each rich with symbolism and spiritual meaning. Therefore, it can be concluded that Tari Marcok is not merely a performance, but a cultural representation of the traditional healing practices of the Sungai Bungkal community that continue to endure today.

Abstract

Fast-track legislation refers to a legislative process that proceeds rapidly, oftenwithout adequatepublic participation and is considered lacking in transparency.This study employs a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniquesincluding observation, interviews, and documentation. The number of respondentsto be studied is approximately ten. The research focuses on one or more laws thatare considered controversial by the public, such as the Military Law (TNI Law), theJob Creation Law (Omnibus Law), and the Mineral and Coal Mining Law (MinerbaLaw). The aim of this study is to analyze the perceptions of Unimed students towardthe formation of fast-track legislation, particularly those that frequently sparkpublic controversy. This study aims to analyze the perceptions of Unimed studentsregarding the formation of fast-tracked legislation, particularly those that oftentrigger public controversy. The research is expected to provide an overview of theextent to which students understand, respond to, and critique the practice ofexpedited lawmaking, as well as highlight its impact on public trust in the legal drafting process in Indonesia. The findings indicate that the majority of UNIMEDstudents have a negative perception of fast-tracked legislation, as the process isconsidered rushed, lacks public participation, and does not follow a transparentdeliberative mechanism. The conclusion of this study is that the absence of publicinvolvement in the legislative process strengthens students' distrust in legislativeinstitutions, fosters a skeptical attitude, and even encourages their involvement incritical movements as a form of social control.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how research on the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and its impact on future anxiety has developed, using a bibliometric approach. EFT is a psychological method that combines exposure therapy, cognitive techniques, and stimulation of meridian points in the body. In recent years, this technique has become more popular in helping people deal with anxiety, including worries about the future, which are often caused by life uncertainties, career challenges, and social changes. This study shows trends in publications, author collaborations, main keywords, and relevant journals to provide a clearer picture of research on this topic.

Abstract

Language skills not only include reading and writing skills, but also listening and speaking skills that must be developed evenly since elementary school. Mastery of these four elements is very important to support good communication and achievement of competencies in various fields of study. However, not all textbooks in circulation are designed in an integrated, contextual manner, and pay attention to the developmental stages of students. The Indonesian Language Book Aku Bisa! is one of the books used in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, but its feasibility needs to be assessed so that it is in accordance with the rules of effective language learning. This study aims to analyze the feasibility of the content based on the standards of the National Education Standards Agency (BSNP). The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with a content analysis approach. The results of the study indicate that Chapter 5 has the potential to support integrated language skills, although there are some notes on the use of spelling, writing, and clarity of sentences. This study is expected to be able to provide input for the preparation of open books that are more adaptive and in accordance with the needs of elementary school students.

Abstract

The formulation of the National Criminal Code through Law Number 1 of 2023 highlights the importance of reforming sentencing theory to anticipate legal and social developments in Indonesia. This study adopts a normative qualitative approach, taking into account the evolution of sentencing paradigms. The findings reveal that the sentencing theory in the new Criminal Code has shifted from a retributive model to an integrative model. It combines restorative justice, absolute, and relative theories. Sentencing today is not solely aimed at punishment, but also at restoring social relations and protecting human rights. The introduction of more diverse types of punishment, the recognition of corporations as legal subjects, and the establishment of sentencing standards as judicial guidelines reflect this reform. In conclusion, a more humanistic and responsive national criminal law policy depends on the development of sentencing theory.

Abstract

Audio visual media in islamic religious education learning in schools as the main step to help create effective and efficient learning. Schools have an important role in making students who have noble morals and good character through the implementation of audio visual media in islamic religious education learning at smp islam terpadu nurul qur'an tegalwaru karawang west java.the focus of this study is to determine how the implementation of audio-visual media in islamic religious education learning at the integrated islamic junior high school nurul qur'an tegalwaru karawang, west java, how the learning motivation of students at the integrated islamic junior high school nurul qur'an tegalwaru karawang, west java, and how the implementation of audio-visual media in islamic religious education learning increases the learning motivation of students at the integrated islamic junior high school nurul qur'an tegalwaru karawang, west java.this research method uses a qualitative approach. This type of research is a case study. Then seen from the data collection techniques in this study using observation, interview, and documentation techniques. While the techniques in data analysis used are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.the results of the research conducted by researchers regarding the implementation of audio-visual media in islamic religious education learning in increasing student learning motivation at smp islam terpadu nurul qur'an tegalwaru karawang west java. The implementation of audio-visual media in islamic religious education learning can help achieve the school's vision to become an educational institution that excels in academics and religion. The implementation of audio-visual media in islamic religious education learning using audio-visual media can increase student learning motivation and help students understand islamic religious education material more easily and effectively. The implementation of audio-visual media in islamic religious education learning in increasing student learning motivation can be a good step to help improve the quality of education and the reputation of educational institutions.
