Abstract

This study is important as it responds to the growing need for education that emphasizes not only cognitive development but also students’ emotional well-being. The primary objectives of this research are: (1) to analyze the concept of love from the perspectives of the Qur’an and psychology, (2) to examine the role of the Curriculum of Love in the context of holistic Islamic education, and (3) to explore the implementation of this curriculum in contemporary Islamic educational institutions. The research employs a library study method with a descriptive-analytical approach, involving the analysis of Qur’anic commentaries, educational psychology literature, and relevant studies on Islamic curriculum development. The findings reveal that the concept of love in both the Qur’an and psychology is closely related to character formation, a sense of security, and learning motivation. The Curriculum of Love has been shown to improve the quality of relationships within schools and foster a supportive learning environment. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of transcendental values with psychological and scientific approaches to curriculum design, implying the need for educational policies that prioritize compassion-based learning in Islamic education.

Abstract

Education for Children with Special Needs (CSN) in Indonesia continues to face various challenges, particularly in accessing inclusive and adaptive Islamic Religious Education (IRE). The integration of Qur’anic values through a thematic exegesis approach has not yet been fully optimized to support CSN learning. This study aims to formulate an inclusive IRE curriculum model based on relevant Qur’anic values. Using a qualitative method and thematic interpretation, the research analyzes selected Qur’anic verses alongside classical and contemporary exegeses. The findings reveal inclusive values—such as compassion, accessibility, respect for human dignity, and adaptability to limitations—reflected in QS ‘Abasa [80], al-Nūr [24], al-Ḥujurāt [49], al-Isrā’ [17], and al-Nisā’ [4]. The study proposes a model for an inclusive IRE curriculum and lesson plans (RPP) that are responsive to the needs of CSN. This research contributes to the academic discourse on inclusive Islamic education and provides practical insights for policy development at madrasahs and general education institutions. This study offers a novel integration of thematic Qur’anic exegesis into Islamic inclusive education design, with strategic implications for curriculum development and policy in religious and public education systems.

Abstract

This study explores the ethical utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Islamic education through an integrative approach that combines maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah and thematic Qur’anic exegesis. This research aims to formulate a contextual and applicable Islamic ethical framework for the use of AI in learning processes. Employing a qualitative library research method, data were collected from primary sources (Qur’anic verses and tafsir) and secondary sources (academic journals, books, institutional reports). The findings reveal that AI can support Islamic education when ethically guided—by upholding the protection of religion (ḥifẓ al-dīn), intellect (ḥifẓ al-‘aql), life (ḥifẓ al-nafs), wealth (ḥifẓ al-māl), and lineage (ḥifẓ al-nasl). The study also articulates three core Qur’anic ethical principles—reason as wisdom, knowledge as divine trust, and moral accountability (amānah)—as the basis for AI development. The novelty of this research lies in integrating two classical Islamic methodologies to address contemporary technological challenges. Its implications span educational technology policy design, ethical guidance for Islamic AI developers, and teacher training curriculum for the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the innovation of using the Wordwall application as a learning medium for Arabic language instruction—specifically tailored to the needs of students in the Agrotechnology study program at Darussalam Gontor University. Adopting a qualitative approach through a case study method, the research seeks to illustrate how Wordwall is implemented in the Arabic language learning process for specific purposes (Li Aghrad Khassah) and assess its overall effectiveness. Data collection methods included interviews, observations, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. Findings indicate that integrating Wordwall into Arabic language learning significantly supports students’ comprehension, particularly regarding content relevant to Agrotechnology. This improvement is evidenced by the comparison between pre-test and post-test scores—students in classes A and C scored 42% on the pre-test, which increased to 86% on the post-test, showing a notable enhancement in their understanding. Despite its benefits, the use of this application also faces certain challenges, primarily due to the reliance on a stable internet connection.

Abstract

The moral crisis and value disorientation plaguing modern education is one of the fundamental issues of the contemporary era. This study discusses the concept of ethics from the perspective of ta'dīb as formulated by Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas as the basic framework of Islamic education. This study uses a qualitative design. The approach used is descriptive-analytical and the method employed is library research, as all data were obtained from written sources, including al-Attas's original works and secondary studies discussing his ideas. Based on the research findings, the concept of ta'dīb is not merely an effort to impart knowledge but also a process of forming adab, which involves placing things in their proper places, culminating in the recognition and acknowledgment of divine truth. Ethics in ta'dīb is not separate from knowledge and morality but is an integral integration of all three. This study also examines Al-Attas' critique of the modern Western educational paradigm, which is deemed secular, dualistic, and incapable of addressing contemporary moral crises. Through a qualitative-philosophical approach and literature review, this paper asserts that ta'dīb serves as an ethical alternative in education deeply rooted in the Islamic worldview.
