Abstract

Digital-Based Chain Picture Game using the Gartic Phone application to improve students' mastery of Arabic vocabulary. The research employed a Quasi-Experimental Design with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The participants consisted of students from Grade VIII at MTs N 1 Klaten. The experimental group utilized the Digital-Based Chain Picture Game with the Gartic Phone application as the intervention, comprising 30 participants. Meanwhile, the control group did not receive any intervention and consisted of an equal number of 30 students. Data on the mastery of Arabic vocabulary were collected before and after the intervention using a vocabulary test. Additionally, students' perceptions regarding their experience using the Digital-Based Chain Picture Game with the Gartic Phone application were collected through a questionnaire employing the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) instrument. Data analysis was conducted using appropriate statistical methods to compare the differences in vocabulary mastery between the experimental and control groups. The findings of this study are expected to provide a better understanding of the effectiveness of using the Digital-Based Chain Picture Game with the Gartic Phone application in enhancing students' mastery of Arabic vocabulary. It also serves as a recommendation for Arabic language instructors to incorporate the Gartic Phone application as one of the media to improve Arabic vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze neuroscience-based Arabic language learning media with the goal of facilitating the retention of vocabulary (mufrodat) and proficiency in oral expression (muhadasah). This study is a qualitative literature review. Data is collected through a review of relevant literature from reputable scientific journals and books related to the research. The researcher also supplements secondary data with field data obtained through interviews and observations. The research is conducted at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. Data analysis is carried out using content analysis with the addition of data display, reduction, and verification techniques. The results of this research indicate that neuroscience-based Arabic language learning media is effective in meeting the needs of students by simplifying the Arabic learning process, facilitating vocabulary learning (mufrodat) more quickly, and improving reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills (muhadasah). Neuroscience-based Arabic language learning materials emphasize a brain-centered approach to learning Arabic, utilizing the brain's abilities in intellectual growth and tranquility. Learning resources based on neuroscience often take the form of multimedia or instructional videos designed to stimulate the brain as the focal point for mastering Arabic for students. These videos present Arabic content and vocabulary that is easily digestible and suitable for everyday learning, both in the classroom and at home. With the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic, the transition to online learning has created physical distance between students and teachers, resulting in limited interaction and guidance. Consequently, many students are experiencing difficulties in understanding Arabic language concepts.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the trends in item analysis research with a focus on the background, parameters used, and the utilization of assisting applications. The research method employed is descriptive qualitative, using a literature review approach involving data collection through documentation methods from Arabic language item analysis studies conducted in the last five years. Data analysis was conducted through qualitative analysis, examining each study and making small notes that were subsequently summarized. The research findings indicate that the background of item analysis research in Arabic language in Indonesia includes the absence of item analysis in schools, the presence of items that are either too easy or too difficult for students, and the desire to improve the quality of items. Commonly used parameters in item analysis include difficulty level and discrimination power, while distractor effectiveness is only used in a small number of studies. Furthermore, the research also shows that commonly used applications include Microsoft Excel, SPSS, and Anates. Therefore, future item analysis research is recommended to focus on the use of more advanced analysis methods and parameter measurements, as well as to utilize a wider range of applications.

Abstract

Public speaking anxiety and self-efficacy are significant factors affecting students' performance in language learning, particularly in Arabic. This study explores the relationship between self-efficacy and public speaking anxiety among 9th-grade students at Madrasah Tsanawiyyah Negeri 4 Karanganyar. Understanding this relationship is essential for developing strategies to enhance students' speaking skills and reduce anxiety. The primary objective of this research is to determine the influence of self-efficacy on public speaking anxiety among 9th-grade students. A quantitative research approach was adopted, utilizing Likert scale questionnaires for data collection. The population consisted of 155 9th-grade students, from which a sample of 61 students was randomly selected using the Slovin formula. Data were collected using Bandura's (1997) General Self-Efficacy Scale and Lang's (1971) Public Speaking Anxiety Scale. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 25. The study found a significant negative relationship between self-efficacy and public speaking anxiety. Students with higher self-efficacy levels exhibited lower levels of anxiety when speaking in public. Specifically, self-efficacy accounted for 79.9% of the variance in public speaking anxiety, with a t-value of -15.291 and a significance level of p < 0.05. These findings indicate that enhancing self-efficacy can substantially reduce public speaking anxiety among students. Improving students' self-efficacy is crucial in mitigating public speaking anxiety, which in turn can enhance their academic performance and confidence. The implications of this study suggest that educational institutions should implement programs and strategies aimed at boosting self-efficacy to create a supportive learning environment. Future research should explore additional factors influencing public speaking anxiety and develop comprehensive approaches to address this issue.
