Abstract

Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) are a real manifestation of democracy and are a means for the people to declare sovereignty. Pilkada organizers, especially in Bali Province, must work together to face the challenges and risks of the 2020 Pilkada on December 9. Both Bawaslu and the Bali Provincial KPU have to work hard considering that the democracy party this time was held during the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of this study is to determine the role of the Bali election supervisory agency (Bawaslu) in the 2020 simultaneous regional elections. The aim of the research is to build a strong, independent, solid election monitoring apparatus and institution in Bali. Develop effective and efficient monitoring patterns and methods in Bali. The research method uses interview, observation and data collection methods with non-participatory observation, namely a type of observation where the researcher is not directly involved in any activity of the research subject. The results of this research showed that Bawaslu's role is an independent election monitor tasked with overseeing and guarding the Bali regional elections. Bawaslu supervises the implementation of elections by receiving complaints, handling cases of election administrative violations and election criminal violations. Bawaslu has the authority over reports relating to alleged violations of the implementation of laws and regulations concerning elections. Either election administration violations, money politics violations, or disputes over the election process.

Abstract

The economic determination of criminology according to Karl Marx is influenced by economic pressure, to fight crime rates, it must be accompanied by economic improvement. Crime rates are seen as a result or as a result of economic conditions which are considered to have a causal relationship. The research method used is qualitative by trying to present social phenomena that occur in the society of the two countries (India and Indonesia). The data collection technique used is a literature review by collecting data from books and journals that can be accessed online. Data analysis is carried out in depth and described qualitatively. The results of this research showed that this pandemic has also made India's economy collapse. Many companies have fired staff, and the informal sector was also in crisis. Experts say that rising unemployment during the Corona crisis can encourage many people to commit crimes, especially young people. The most frequent crime in Indonesia due to economic problems is theft. Theft is currently a threat to most communities. Theft is a complex social problem that is influenced by various factors, including economic factors, lack of security systems, limited supervision, drug abuse, and limited opportunities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work climate, interpersonal communication, and managerial support on teacher loyalty in eight State Islamic Junior High Schools in Tangerang Regency. The research is grounded in the importance of establishing a supportive work environment, effective communication, and empathetic leadership as strategic elements in strengthening teacher loyalty, which plays a crucial role in improving educational quality. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 120 permanent and non-civil servant teachers. The collected data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS version 26 to examine both partial and simultaneous effects of the independent variables on teacher loyalty. The findings indicate that work climate, interpersonal communication, and managerial support each have a positive and significant effect—both individually and collectively—on teacher loyalty. A conducive work environment fosters a sense of security and comfort, enabling professionals to carry out their duties effectively. Effective interpersonal communication strengthens harmonious working relationships, while strong managerial support fosters trust and appreciation for teachers’ contributions. Conclusions: The study highlights the need to enhance the organizational capacities of school leaders in creating a work environment that promotes long-term teacher loyalty. These findings offer valuable insights for educational management in religious-based schools that aim to retain and empower their teaching staff.

Abstract

This paper examines the intricate relationship between civil society and the social sciences in the context of modern Russia, where increasing authoritarianism has reshaped the boundaries of public discourse, academic inquiry, and civic engagement. Drawing on interdisciplinary approaches and qualitative analysis, the study explores how both civil society actors and social scientists navigate state-imposed restrictions while maintaining critical roles in resisting dominant power structures. The findings reveal that Russian civil society, although heavily constrained by legal and institutional pressures—such as the “foreign agent” and “undesirable organizations” laws—continues to adapt through decentralized, grassroots strategies, digital platforms, and symbolic resistance. In parallel, the social sciences face growing political interference, with state efforts to instrumentalize academic research and suppress critical perspectives. Nevertheless, many scholars pursue intellectual resistance through independent networks, international collaboration, and nuanced critique. The interplay between these two domains demonstrates a dual dynamic of collaboration and shared vulnerability. Civil society relies on scholarly knowledge to legitimize its claims and strategies, while the social sciences benefit from civic actors' empirical insights and lived experiences. Despite repression, this mutual relationship fosters innovation, resilience, and the continued production of critical knowledge in an increasingly hostile environment. This paper concludes that the relationship between civil society and the social sciences in Russia not only reflects broader struggles over power and autonomy, but also illuminates the enduring potential for democratic agency, even under authoritarian rule. Understanding this interplay is crucial for comprehending the sociopolitical dynamics of resistance and intellectual freedom in contemporary Russia.

Abstract

This article explores the dynamic transformation of the education system in China, situated at the crossroads of deeply rooted Confucian traditions and the forces of global modernization. It investigates how Confucian values—such as moral cultivation, respect for authority, and emphasis on academic rigor—continue to shape educational practices and cultural expectations, while simultaneously confronting pressures to adopt innovative pedagogical methods and international standards. The study employs a qualitative approach, analyzing policy documents, educational reforms, and scholarly literature to examine key dimensions including curriculum modernization, technology integration, teacher professional development, rural-urban disparities, and the internationalization of education. Findings reveal a complex interplay between preserving cultural heritage and embracing global competencies, highlighting both achievements and ongoing challenges such as equity gaps and balancing national identity with global engagement. The article concludes that China’s education reform is a continuous process of negotiation between tradition and modernity, aiming to produce learners equipped for the demands of the 21st century while maintaining social cohesion and cultural continuity. This synthesis offers insights into the multifaceted nature of educational change in one of the world’s largest and fastest-evolving education systems.

Abstract

This article examines the gap between the constitutional guarantee of free basic education in Indonesia and its practical implementation following the rulings of the Constitutional Court. Although the Court has affirmed the state's obligation to eliminate all forms of educational fees at the elementary and junior secondary levels, empirical evidence reveals the continued imposition of indirect costs on students and their families. These include informal charges for uniforms, school maintenance, extracurricular activities, and other operational needs. The study adopts a qualitative, descriptive-analytical approach using doctrinal legal analysis, field observations, and interviews with key stakeholders. Findings indicate that limited school funding, regulatory ambiguity, inconsistent regional policies, and a lack of legal awareness among citizens hinder the realization of truly free education. The article concludes that while Indonesia’s constitutional framework on education is normatively strong, its implementation requires comprehensive reforms involving fiscal equity, regulatory clarity, institutional accountability, and civic empowerment to ensure the right to free basic education becomes a lived reality for all.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between learning outcome evaluation strategies and teaching effectiveness in the classroom. In the context of modern education, which emphasizes active and competency-based learning, evaluation is no longer viewed merely as a final measurement tool but as an integral part of the learning process that supports pedagogical decision-making. This research employed a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data from student assessments with qualitative data from interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. The findings indicate that consistent implementation of formative assessments enhances teachers’ ability to respond adaptively to students’ needs. Moreover, authentic assessment strategies—such as portfolios, project-based evaluations, and self-reflections—are proven to strengthen student engagement and support more holistic learning achievements. Student involvement in the evaluation process, through self-assessment and peer-assessment, also contributes positively to their learning awareness and personal responsibility. These findings underscore that well-designed evaluation practices can serve as a strategic foundation for more effective, meaningful, and student-centered instruction. The study recommends strengthening teacher capacity in designing and applying assessments, along with institutional support to foster a reflective and collaborative evaluation culture within schools.
