Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly changed people’s lifestyles, encouraging them to live cleaner and healthier in an effort to maintain their immunity. One prominent change is the increased habit of using hand sanitizers as a quick and effective way to keep hands clean and reduce the risk of viral transmission in daily activities. This thesis research aimed to examine the effect of a healthy lifestyle, brand image, and product quality on the purchase decision of hand sanitizer products and how these factors subsequently influence repurchase behavior. This study employed a quantitative research design with data analysis conducted using LISREL 8.80, which allows for accurate testing of structural relationships between variables. The findings of this study indicate that a healthy lifestyle has a significant positive effect on consumers’ initial purchase decisions of Dettol’s hand sanitizer, highlighting the role of health awareness in driving demand for hygiene products during the pandemic. Similarly, brand image significantly affects purchase decisions, showing that a strong and trusted brand enhances consumers’ confidence when selecting hygiene products. Product quality also demonstrated a significant influence on purchase decisions, emphasizing that effectiveness, safety, and reliability remain critical in consumer choice. However, the results also reveal that a healthy lifestyle does not have a direct significant effect on repurchase behavior. In contrast, brand image and product quality both show significant impacts on repurchase decisions, reflecting the importance of maintaining brand trust and consistent product standards to encourage customer loyalty. Furthermore, purchase decisions significantly affect repurchase intentions, confirming that a satisfactory initial purchase experience is a key driver for continued product usage.

Abstract

The advancement of information technology has significantly transformed work patterns, leading to the widespread adoption of remote work or teleworking. While teleworking offers flexibility and convenience, excessive use of technology can result in technostress, which can negatively impact employees' psychological well-being and job performance. This study aims to examine the effect of technostress on job satisfaction, anxiety, and performance among teleworkers in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY). A quantitative approach utilizing Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was applied, with 100 respondents participating in the study. The results indicate that technostress has a negative effect on job satisfaction, suggesting that high levels of stress caused by technology usage in teleworking reduce employees' satisfaction with their jobs. Additionally, technostress has a positive effect on work-related anxiety, meaning that increased technostress leads to heightened anxiety levels among teleworkers. Anxiety, in turn, was found to negatively influence job satisfaction, highlighting the detrimental impact of anxiety on employees' contentment with their work. However, anxiety did not show a significant impact on performance, indicating that while anxiety affects satisfaction, it does not directly hinder job performance. On the other hand, job satisfaction has a significant positive effect on performance, meaning that employees who are more satisfied with their jobs tend to perform better. These findings emphasize the importance of managing technostress to maintain a productive and healthy digital work environment. Practical implications include the need for digital training to help employees manage technology effectively, psychological support to alleviate stress and anxiety, and the development of structured remote work policies that prioritize employee well-being. By addressing these factors, organizations can improve job satisfaction, reduce anxiety, and enhance overall performance in teleworking environments.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how brand image, product quality, regional background, and product value influence purchase intention, particularly for personal protective equipment in Indonesia. The research focuses on identifying the key elements that affect consumer behavior when making purchasing decisions. A quantitative approach was used for this study, with data collected through an online survey distributed to 109 participants from various industry sectors. The results of hypothesis testing using Structural Equation Modelling Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) reveal that origin significantly influences product quality and value but has no impact on brand image or purchase intention. Conversely, product quality has a positive effect on both brand image and purchase intention. Product value also positively influences brand image and purchase intention. Additionally, brand image was found to have a positive impact on purchase intention. These findings suggest that product quality and value are crucial factors in shaping brand perceptions and influencing consumer purchasing decisions. This research contributes to the theoretical understanding of marketing science and offers practical insights for businesses to develop more effective marketing strategies. Companies should focus on enhancing product quality and value to improve brand image and, ultimately, drive purchase intention. Furthermore, the premise of lacking evidence is not acceptable, as the complexity and broad scope of the Loch Ness measurements make physical evidence extremely difficult to obtain. Therefore, the study emphasizes the importance of understanding consumer perceptions and how various factors contribute to their purchasing behavior, which can guide companies in tailoring their strategies to better meet consumer expectations.

Abstract

This research addresses the growing concerns of declining tax realization and widespread tax avoidance, which have resulted in significant revenue losses for the government. The study emphasizes the necessity of improving tax policy implementation and enhancing societal awareness to address these challenges and optimize taxpayer compliance. The primary objective of this research was to analyze the impact of socialization, information technology, attitudes, knowledge, and tax-paying abilities on taxpayer compliance, with awareness and volition acting as intervening variables and tax avoidance as a moderating factor. The focus of this study is on individual taxpayers in Surabaya. The study employed an explanatory design, with a population consisting of individual taxpayers registered with the KPP East Java Region I, totaling 3,042,548 people as of 2020. A sample of 400 respondents was selected using the Slovin formula to represent this population. Data analysis was carried out using Smart PLS. The findings revealed that socialization had a positive effect on taxpayer awareness but a negative impact on volition and taxpayer compliance. Information technology had mixed effects, showing an insignificant influence on certain factors. Attitudes had a significant impact on awareness and volition, although its influence on compliance was not significant. Knowledge strongly influenced awareness, volition, and taxpayer compliance, while the ability to pay taxes positively affected awareness, volition, and compliance. Additionally, the study found mixed influences of awareness and volition on taxpayer compliance when moderated by tax avoidance. These findings provide valuable insights into the factors affecting taxpayer behavior and compliance, confirming or contradicting previous research on this topic. The study underscores the importance of targeted tax education and awareness programs to foster greater taxpayer compliance, thereby contributing to enhanced regional and state revenues.

Abstract

Patient safety is a top priority in healthcare and nursing services. A strong patient safety culture plays a crucial role in preventing medical incidents that could endanger patients. The successful implementation of a safety culture in hospitals depends on the perceptions and practices of healthcare workers, particularly nurses. A well-implemented safety culture has positive impacts, such as reducing medical incidents, improving service quality, and increasing patient trust. However, suboptimal or inconsistent implementation may lead to negative effects, such as undetected medical errors, decreased compliance with procedures, and a weakened incident reporting culture. Therefore, continuous evaluation of safety culture implementation is essential. Objective: This study aims to analyze the influence of safety culture on patient safety among nurses at RSUD I. A Moeis Samarinda. This research used a quantitative approach with an analytical survey design. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to nurses at RSUD I. A Moeis Samarinda, with samples selected using a convenience sampling technique. Statistical tests were conducted to identify the relationship between safety culture and patient safety. The study showed a significant relationship between safety culture and patient safety. Based on the Wilcoxon test, the p-value was 0.02 ≤ 0.05, indicating that the null hypothesis was rejected. Additionally, the Cronbach’s alpha value was greater than 0.6 (0.601 > 0.6), suggesting that safety culture has a positive and significant effect on patient safety at RSUD I. A Moeis Samarinda. Hospitals need to enhance nurses’ awareness of the importance of safety culture through training, optimal workload management, and the implementation of more effective safety policies.

Abstract

This analysis is intended to evaluate the impact of transformational leadership and perceived organizational support on educators' work attachment at SMA Negeri 2 Mranggen, Demak Regency, with work motivation placed as an intermediate variable. This study seeks to close the gap from previous research that showed mixed results related to the relationship between these variables. The approach used in this analysis is in the form of a survey with an explanatory research design. The subjects of the analysis included all teaching staff at SMA Negeri 2 Mranggen, Demak Regency, which amounted to 67 people, as well as being used as a sample through the total sampling technique. The main data sources were obtained using questionnaires and interviews, then processed using the Partial Least Square (PLS) method using the SmartPLS application version 4.0. The findings of the analysis confirm that transformational leadership and work motivation have a positive and significant influence on work attachment. However, the perceived organizational support does not have a significant influence on work attachment, either directly or through work motivation as a mediating variable. This indicates that work motivation is not able to bridge the influence of transformational leadership and perceived organizational support on work attachment.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain empirical evidence on the effect of firm size, dividend payout ratio, cash holding, and board size on income smoothing practices in food and beverage companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2018–2023 period. Income smoothing, as a common earnings management practice, is often carried out by managers to reduce fluctuations in reported earnings and present a more stable financial performance to stakeholders. The sample in this study was determined using a purposive sampling method based on specific criteria, resulting in 70 firm-year observations. The research utilized secondary data obtained from annual financial statements published on the official IDX website. Data were analyzed using logistic regression with the assistance of SPSS 25.0 to test both simultaneous and partial effects of the independent variables on income smoothing behavior. The results reveal that simultaneously, firm size, dividend payout ratio, cash holding, and board size significantly influence income smoothing practices. Partially, the dividend payout ratio shows a significant positive effect, indicating that companies with higher dividend distributions are more likely to engage in income smoothing to maintain investor trust and dividend stability. Conversely, board size has a significant negative effect, suggesting that larger boards may strengthen oversight and reduce managerial discretion in earnings management. On the other hand, firm size and cash holding do not exhibit significant effects on income smoothing, implying that these factors are not the primary determinants of such practices in the food and beverage sector. Overall, these findings highlight the importance of dividend policy and corporate governance structures in shaping financial reporting behavior. The study contributes to the literature on earnings management by providing new evidence from an emerging market context and offers practical implications for investors, regulators, and corporate boards in assessing the credibility of reported earnings.

Abstract

PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero), Tbk (TLKM), PT XL Axiata, Tbk (EXCL), and PT Indosat, Tbk (ISAT) are three Indonesian telecommunications firms whose stocks will be valued using the Discounted Cash Flow technique from 2019 until 2023. According to the analysis, TLKM and EXCL stocks are undervalued, with market prices lower than their intrinsic values. This condition presents attractive investment opportunities for long-term investors, where potential gains may be realized if the companies' performance continues to improve and the market eventually appreciates the intrinsic value of the stocks. Conversely, ISAT stocks are identified as overvalued, with market prices exceeding their intrinsic values. This situation indicates excessive market expectations or the influence of certain external factors, making the decision to sell ISAT stocks a strategic move to realize capital gains before potential market corrections occur. These results emphasise how crucial it is to fully comprehend the internal and external aspects affecting company value before making any investing decisions. Investors are advised not to rely solely on valuation results but to also consider industry prospects, macroeconomic conditions, and company-specific issues to ensure more informed and strategic investment decisions. This study provides valuable insights for investors and market participants in identifying opportunities and risks in stock investments within the telecommunications sector.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of internal controls, leadership style, and compensation on employee performance at petrol stations in Boyolali. Employing a quantitative research design, the study surveyed a total of 38 employees using a census approach to ensure comprehensive data collection. Data were obtained through structured questionnaires and analyzed using multiple regression techniques to determine both individual and collective effects of the independent variables. The results indicate that internal control, leadership style, and compensation each have a positive and significant impact on employee performance when assessed individually. Furthermore, the simultaneous analysis using the F-test confirms that these three variables collectively exert a significant influence on performance outcomes. The coefficient of determination (R²) demonstrates that a substantial portion of the variation in employee performance can be explained by the combined effect of these variables, while the remaining variance is attributed to other external or unmeasured factors. These findings underscore the importance of robust internal control systems, effective leadership practices, and fair compensation structures in enhancing workforce productivity and organizational effectiveness. The study provides practical insights for management in the retail fuel sector, suggesting that strategic improvements in these areas can lead to measurable gains in employee performance. Future research is encouraged to explore additional variables that may further explain performance dynamics in similar operational contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how social media marketing strategies influence consumer purchasing decisions at Adiva Digital Printing. The research was motivated by the increasing role of digital platforms in shaping consumer behavior, particularly in the competitive MSME sector. A qualitative research approach was applied, involving in-depth interviews with key informants, direct observation of marketing activities, and documentation analysis. The findings reveal that social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp significantly contribute to influencing purchasing decisions. Key factors include ease of access to information, detailed and attractive product descriptions, and active interactions between the business and consumers, which foster engagement and trust. Despite these positive aspects, the current marketing strategy is not yet fully optimized, as reflected by a conversion rate of only 30%. A SWOT analysis was conducted to identify internal and external factors, highlighting strengths in product quality and competitive pricing, while weaknesses were found in limited promotional efforts and low content variation. Opportunities exist in the growing use of social media among consumers, while threats include strong competition from similar businesses. This study concludes that optimizing social media marketing strategies—such as leveraging advanced features, improving responsiveness, and producing creative, engaging content—can significantly enhance customer loyalty and drive higher sales conversions. These improvements are essential for supporting sustainable growth in the MSME sector. Furthermore, this research is expected to serve as a practical reference for other MSMEs seeking to utilize social media effectively as a strategic marketing tool.
